Who Was Bruce Galea? Wikipedia And Age Explored

Bruce Galea, who appeared to be in his 80s, died not long ago. He was a major gambling figure in New South Wales.

Galea was the son of notorious illegal gambling ringleader Perce Galea. Perce is described as a powerful businessman who had a shady relationship with then-Liberal Prime Minister Sir Robert Askin.

Following Robert’s death in 1981, rumors circulated that Perce was paying Robert around $100,000 per year, in addition to significant bribes to senior police officers.

This allowed the Galea family to amass significant wealth through the massive channel of illegal casino operations.

Other methods of strangely gaining large sums of money had been perfected by the Galea family.

Rumor has it that Galeas would launder money by buying lottery tickets. The money was then used to pay the ultimate winner a bonus for their lottery paper.

The death of illegal gamblers and underworld figures was reported in the Sydney Morning Herald.

The powerful gambler was involved in a variety of gambling crimes, but he was never caught because of his extensive network.

He was imprisoned for two years in Sydney’s Long Bay after refusing to testify before the Wood Royal Commission into police misconduct in 1995.

Galea was imprisoned after a corrupt police officer informed authorities that the gambling tycoon had been paying them to turn a blind eye to his illegal activities for years.

Bruce was operating an illegal casino on Dixon Street, King Cross, and two other locations at the time, according to the corrupt cops.

Bruce rose to prominence after the Independent Commission Against Corruption investigated links between criminal organizations and corrupt cops in 1993.

He was found guilty of running the state’s largest illegal gaming operation, but he always denied paying off cops.

Bruce Galea Net Worth Details

During his gambling days, Bruce Galea amassed enormous wealth. As a result, it is clear that his net worth is in the millions.

According to some sources, the Galea family’s fortune exceeds $100 million.

However, because the majority of the money earned by Bruce and his father was illegal, the exact figures are unlikely to be revealed.
