Robertson & Slot share their feelings on Alexander-Arnold’s unfriendly reception

Andy Robertson and Arne Slot admitted Liverpool’s supporters have the right to express how they feel about Trent Alexander-Arnold after he received a hostile reception during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold confirmed he’s exiting Liverpool for pastures new this summer, bringing an end to a 20-year association that has seen rise through the academy ranks to win the Premier League twice, the Champions League and be named the club’s vice captain.

Many Liverpool supporters have expressed anger and disdain on social media at Alexander-Arnold’s decision, and the hostilities continued before and during the game with Arsenal. The 26-year-old was booed when he came on as a second-half substitute, replacing his likely successor Conor Bradley, and the reaction continued every time he touched the ball.

Speaking post-match, Robertson was keen to focus on the positive influence Alexander-Arnold’s had on his individual career but did admit it wasn’t nice to see his teammate turned on by Liverpool fans.

“Disappointed to lose a good friend, he’s an amazing player and an amazing person,” Robertson told Sky Sports. “He has pushed me through and made me a better player. His legacy will always be there, he’s done so much for this club.

“He will be missed for me as one of my best friends in the game, we’ve done it all together. He’s took me to levels I never knew existed. It hasn’t been an easy one for Trent but he has made the decision. It was not nice to see him get booed but you can’t tell people how to feel. That’s how I feel about it and I’m not going to tell anyone else how to feel about it.”

Slot echoed the sentiments of Robertson in his own post-match remarks, stating: “Everybody can have their own opinion and you can express it in any way you want to.

“I heard mixed opinions but the only opinion I have is I owe it to the players and fans to try to win a game of football and if Conor Bradley can’t go on because he is tired and I have Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench, I will bring him in because we want to win this game of football.

“He was very close for us to win it because he had two or three passes – what makes him so special. For me, it is quite simple if I want to win, I bring him in and that’s what I did and for the fans, they are entitled to have their own opinion.”

Alexander-Arnold is expected to sign a long-term deal at Real Madrid, following in the footsteps of Michael Owen and Steve McManaman, who left Liverpool for the Spanish capital aged 24 and 27 respectively – the latter also departing on a free transfer after opting against signing a new contract.

Joe Biden Prostate Cancer Diagnoses: Prostate Cancer Symptoms, Causes, And Risks.

Former United States President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office said on Sunday.

Joe Biden Prostate Cancer Diagnoses

After seeing a doctor last week for urinary issues, Biden, who stepped down in January, was told on Friday that he had prostate cancer.

With a Gleason score of nine out of ten, the cancer is a more severe type of the illness. According to Cancer Research UK, this indicates that his disease is categorized as “high-grade” and that the cancer cells may spread swiftly.

Biden and his family are reportedly reviewing treatment alternatives. The cancer was hormone-sensitive, thus, it was probably manageable, his office stated.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” Biden’s office stated in a statement on Sunday.

He received a prostate cancer diagnosis on Friday, which was characterized by metastases to the bone and a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5).

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Support for the former president came from both sides of the political spectrum after word leaked out of his health.

On the social networking site Truth Social, President Donald Trump expressed his and First Lady Melania Trump’s sadness over Joe Biden’s latest medical diagnosis.

He remarked, “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family,” alluding to Jill Biden of the past. “We wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Biden’s former vice president, Kamala Harris, posted on X that she and her husband, Doug Emhoff, are praying for the Biden family.

“Joe is a fighter – and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership,” Harris stated.

Barack Obama and his wife Michelle were “thinking of the entire Biden family” in a post on X. Obama was president from 2009 to 2017, and Joe Biden was his deputy.

“Joe has done more than anybody else to develop ground-breaking treatments for cancer in all of its forms, and I do not doubt that he will meet this challenge with his characteristic poise and commitment. “We hope for a speedy and complete recovery,” Obama stated. Obama assigned Biden the responsibility of spearheading a government-wide research initiative known as the “cancer moonshot” in 2016.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom expressed his condolences for President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. I hope the president receives prompt and effective treatment, and I send my warmest wishes to Joe, his wife Jill, and their family.”

The announcement was made over a year after the former president was compelled to withdraw from the 2024 US presidential contest due to health and age-related issues.

In the history of the United States, he is the oldest individual to hold the position.

He acknowledged that the choice to withdraw from the 2024 contest was “difficult” in an interview with the BBC in May, his first since leaving the White House.

In recent months, Biden has been questioned about his health.

During his May visit on The View, Biden refuted reports that he had been suffering from cognitive loss during his last year in the White House. “There is nothing to sustain that,” he replied.

The president had been an advocate for cancer research for many years.

In order to mobilize research efforts to prevent over four million cancer deaths by 2047, he and Mrs. Biden reintroduced the “cancer moonshot” program in 2022.

In 2015, Biden personally lost Beau, his oldest son, to brain cancer.

Prostate Cancer

The prostate gland, a component of the male reproductive system, is where prostate cancer starts.

The prostate, a tiny, walnut-shaped gland that sits in front of the rectum and beneath the bladder in men, is where prostate cancer starts. The fluid secreted by this little gland combines with semen to maintain the health of sperm throughout conception and pregnancy.

Cancer of the prostate is a dangerous illness. Thankfully, the majority of prostate cancer patients receive a diagnosis before the disease spreads outside of their prostate gland. Cancer is frequently eradicated by treatment at this stage.

The most frequent cancer in men is prostate cancer, which is second only to skin cancer. Thirteen out of every 100 men will get prostate cancer at some time in their lives, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The majority will eventually pass away from causes unrelated to prostate cancer after leading regular lives. Some won’t require medical attention.

Nevertheless, prostate cancer claims the lives of about 34,000 Americans annually.

Treatment can cure the majority of prostate cancers found in their early stages.

Symptoms and Causes

A tumor forming inside the prostate gland
Most prostate cancers grow slowly inside the prostate gland.

What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?

Early-stage prostate cancer rarely causes symptoms. These issues may occur as the disease progresses:

  1. Frequent, sometimes urgent, need to pee, especially at night.
  2. Pain or burning when you pee (dysuria).
  3. Weak urine flow or flow that starts and stops.
  4. Loss of bowel control (fecal incontinence).
  5. Painful ejaculation and erectile dysfunction (ED).
  6. Loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence).
  7. Pain in your low back, hip, or chest.
  8. Blood in semen (hematospermia) or urine.

What are the risk factors for prostate cancer?

The most common risk factors include:

  1. Age. As you age, your risk increases. If you are over 50, your chances of receiving a diagnosis are higher. People over 65 account for about 60% of prostate cancer cases.
  2. Race and ethnicity. If you are Black or of African descent, you are more vulnerable. Prostate tumors that are more prone to spread are more likely to occur in you. Additionally, you have a higher chance of developing prostate cancer before the age of fifty.
  3. Family history of prostate cancer. If a close relative has prostate cancer, your chances of developing the disease are two to three times higher.
  4. Genetics. Having Lynch syndrome or inheriting mutant (altered) genes linked to an elevated risk of breast cancer (BRCA1 and BRCA2) puts you at higher risk.

Some studies have identified other prostate cancer risk factors, but the evidence is mixed. Other potential risk factors include:

  1. Smoking.
  2. Prostatitis.
  3. Having a BMI > 30 (having obesity).
  4. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
  5. Exposure to Agent Orange (a chemical used during the Vietnam War).

St. Louis Tornado: 5 Dead And 30 Injured In Severe Storm

Authorities searched from building to building for those who were injured or trapped as severe storms, including a potential tornado, swept through St. Louis, resulting in at least five fatalities.

The storms on Friday afternoon ripped bricks off siding, blew out windows, pulled up trees and electricity wires, and tore roofs off structures. About 100,000 customers were still without power on Friday night, and over 5,000 residences were impacted, according to St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer.

“The loss of life and the destruction are truly, truly horrendous,” Spencer stated. “It truly is a hard night for many, many people and many, many families in our community.”

The immediate number of casualties remained unknown. According to hospital spokesperson Laura High, Barnes-Jewish Hospital received 20 to 30 patients from the storm, some of whom were in critical condition, and the majority of whom were anticipated to be released by Friday evening.

According to her, two of the fifteen patients who were admitted to St. Louis Children’s Hospital are anticipated to stay there through the weekend.

In some areas of St. Louis, the city imposed a curfew at 9 p.m. on Friday night, urging residents to remain indoors as authorities examine every building in the storm’s path for possible victims.

“In the upcoming days, we will have a lot of work to accomplish. Without a doubt, but tonight our priorities are to save lives, keep people safe, and let our community grieve,” Spencer stated.

As the storms have damaged cell coverage in the city, Spencer asked people to stay at home and refrain from using their phones unless it is an emergency. Officials want to ensure that anyone who has to contact 911 can get through to receive assistance.

William Pollihan, the battalion chief for the City of St. Louis Fire Department, told The Associated Press that three individuals needed to be rescued from Centennial Christian Church after a portion of the building collapsed. One of those individuals passed away.

According to National Weather Service radar, a tornado made landfall in Clayton, Missouri, in the St. Louis region, between 2:30 and 2:50 p.m. According to Marshall Pfahler, a weather service meteorologist, it received reports of damage, primarily downed trees.

According to Pfahler, the said tornado made landfall at Forest Park, which is the location of the St. Louis Zoo and the location of the Olympic Games and the World’s Fair in 1904.

Due to the weather, the St. Louis Zoo announced on X, the messaging app that was once known as Twitter, that it would be closed for the remainder of the day. A zoo representative did not immediately return a phone call for comment, and the tweet contained no details regarding damages.

“We can’t definitively say whether or not it was a tornado — it likely was,” Pfahler stated.

Around 2:50 p.m. CDT, radar verified a tornado over Venice, Illinois. The St. Louis National Weather Service warned that golf-ball-sized hail might accompany it. Northeast of St. Louis, on the other side of the Mississippi River, is Venice.

The tornado was traveling east at 50 mph and was deemed “extremely dangerous” by the weather agency. The tornado is a component of a severe weather system that caused trees to fall, tornadoes to form in Wisconsin, thousands of people in the Great Lakes region to lose power, and a scorching heat wave to hit Texas.

On Friday, severe storms with hail and perhaps hurricane-force winds could cripple portions of the Midwest and Appalachia, according to weather forecasts. There was also a chance of tornadoes.

Severe weather was predicted by the National Weather Service for portions of the Mid-Atlantic states and the middle Appalachians.

Residents in Kentucky, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, parts of Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, and Ohio should brace for intense storms that could include baseball-sized hail.

The weather service’s Storm Prediction Center said that “strong, potentially long-track tornadoes and very large hail” could be expected. The threat for damaging winds above 75 mph will increase into this evening as storms grow into larger clusters.

Appalachian Power, which serves one million customers in West Virginia, Virginia, and Tennessee, said Friday that it has asked 1,700 more workers from nearby utilities in addition to sending its own crews from unaffected areas to help restore service ahead of the expected storm that is expected to hit Friday night.

Residents were warned by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear in a post on the social media site X.

“A hazardous weather system is sweeping across Kentucky, with a major round expected this afternoon and continuing through tonight. In Western Kentucky, strong winds, hail, flooding, and tornadoes are predicted to begin at 2:00 PM CT and move to Louisville by approximately 5:00 PM ET, he stated.

In the vicinity of Paducah, Kentucky, shelters were opening.

Middle Tennessee should anticipate “all types of severe weather,” according to Faith Borden, a meteorologist in the Nashville office of the National Weather Service, on Friday. 70 mph winds. For us, big hail is defined as hail that is three inches or more in size.

Meanwhile, Texas had intense temperatures. With temperatures reaching a scorching 95 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, a heat alert was issued for Austin and San Antonio. Temperatures in the 90s plagued portions of the southern East Coast, extending from Virginia to Florida.

According to the Austin/San Antonio National Weather Service Office, the humidity that will arrive over the weekend is predicted to raise temperatures on Friday.

Meteorologist Jason Runyen stated, “There are concerns of heat exhaustion for people who aren’t taking proper precautions outdoors.” He suggested that anyone who was impacted take pauses and drink plenty of water.

Storms with thunder, flashes of lightning, and strong winds raced across portions of Wisconsin, Illinois, northern Indiana, and Michigan overnight Thursday, bringing down thousands of trees and cutting off electricity to thousands of homes.

On Thursday, several tornadoes made landfall in central Wisconsin. According to Timm Uhlmann, a Green Bay National Weather Service meteorologist, none of the twisters have been rated as of yet.

According to Uhlmann, “We’re still gathering reports,” “Video and photos are still being taken while we examine some of the damage.

The damage is extensive. A lot of big hail fell, including softball-sized hail in Eau Claire.

There have been no reports of injuries.

According to Steven Freitag, a National Weather Service meteorologist in White Lake Township, northwest of Detroit, damage surveys were also being conducted Friday to see if any tornadoes made landfall in Michigan.

According to Freitag, a cold front that moved through triggered the storms, which were fuelled by temperatures in the lower 80s that spanned from Illinois into Michigan.

A Beyoncé performance at Soldier Field on Thursday was postponed by almost two hours due to the possibility of heavy weather in Chicago.

Ex-FBI Director James Comey Investigated Over 8647 Post: What Does 8647 Mean?

Ex-FBI Director James Comey is being investigated over his post of a picture of seashells spelling out the numbers “86 47” on Instagram, which he later took down on Thursday after Republicans claimed that it was a threat against President Donald Trump.

What Does 8647 Mean?

James Comey Instagram post
“Cool shell formation,” Comey commented before deleting the post

Comey captioned a picture of seashells that formed the number “8647” on Instagram, saying, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the number 86 is a slang phrase that can imply “to reject” or “to get rid of.” More recently, it has also been used to mean “to kill.”

The 47th US president is Trump. Comey claimed he opposed violence, but Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed the message was a plea for Trump’s death.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated in an X post: “We thoroughly look into anything that can be interpreted as a threat to our protectees.

“We take statements like this very seriously, and we are aware of the former FBI Director’s social media posts. We don’t speak on protected intelligence issues beyond that.

In a follow-up, Comey stated that he “assumed [the sea shells] were a political message” and removed the Instagram picture.

“I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence,” he said. “It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind, so I took the post down.”

Ex-FBI Director James Comey Investigated Over 8647 Post

The Secret Service is looking into former FBI director James Comey after he shared and later removed a social media message that Republicans claimed was an invitation to violence against President Donald Trump.

Comey should be imprisoned for the post, according to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who stated Thursday night that she did not think the former director of the FBI was ignorant of the interpretation of “86 47.”

Last year, Trump escaped two assassination attempts.

The bureau was “aware of the recent social media post by former FBI Director James Comey, directed at President Trump,” according to a social media response from current FBI Director Kash Patel.

“Director Curran and the Secret Service are in contact with us. The FBI will offer all required assistance, but the SS [Secret Service] has primary jurisdiction over these issues.”

Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, said on X: “Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey just called for the assassination of Trump.”

She stated that the Secret Service and her agency would look into the situation.

During Trump’s current Middle East tour, Comey was accused of making “a plea to bad actors/terrorists to assassinate the POTUS while traveling internationally” by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino in a post on X.

On X, Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, also replied, writing: “James Comey casually [sic] calling for my dad to be murdered.”

From 2013 to 2017, Comey was the director of the FBI.

During his turbulent term, he was in charge of the well-publicized investigation of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s email, which was sent weeks before the 2016 election, which she lost to Trump.

Amid an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, Trump sacked him.

On May 9, 2017, Comey was dismissed by Donald Trump. According to statements made by Trump and the White House, Comey was let go in order to relieve the “pressure” that the Mueller probe was putting on Trump. Later that month, Comey had a friend release a memo he had written following a private meeting with the president on February 14, 2017, to the media.

According to the report, Trump requested that he terminate the FBI’s inquiry of former national security advisor Michael Flynn.

Some pundits viewed Comey’s termination, several memos describing meetings with Trump, and his subsequent congressional testimony in June of that year as proof of Trump’s obstruction of justice, and these elements were included in the Mueller inquiry.

There is “no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media,” Horowitz said, despite Comey’s violation of FBI procedure about the leaked memos. Comey was not charged by the Department of Justice.

The Office of the Inspector General discovered in August 2019 that Comey had broken his FBI employment agreement, DOJ policies, and FBI policies by keeping, managing, and sharing the memos. Horowitz published a report in December 2019 that said Comey and other FBI personnel had not shown any political prejudice against Trump.

Jill Sobule Dies In House Fire: Who Was Jill Sobule? Jill Sobule, best known for the 1995 single “I Kissed a Girl” and “Supermodel,” died in a house fire in Woodbury, Minnesota, on Thursday morning, May 1, 2025, at the age of 66.

Jill Sobule Dies In House Fire

On Thursday morning, award-winning singer-songwriter Jill Sobule died in a house fire. She was 66.

On Thursday afternoon, her publicist, David Elkin, confirmed her death via email.

Sobule was supposed to play Friday night in Denver. Rather, according to her spokesperson, her friend Ron Bostwick of 105.5 The Colorado Sound will organize a casual get-together at the performance venue where guests can “share a story or song.”

Later this summer, there will be a formal memorial service to honor her life and legacy.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Ellen Sobule, along with her nephews and cousins.

Who Was Jill Sobule?

American singer-songwriter Jill Sobule (January 16, 1959 – May 1, 2025) is well known for her 1995 single “I Kissed a Girl” and her “Supermodel” from the 1995 movie Clueless’ soundtrack. Reminiscent of American artists from the 1970s like Warren Zevon, Harry Nilsson, Loudon Wainwright III, Harry Chapin, and Randy Newman, her folk-infused works alternate between poignant ballads and sardonic, narrative character studies. Sobule’s writing often contained autobiographical elements, such as her Jewish origin and her struggles with depression and anorexia as a teenager.

Sobule was an early proponent of crowdfunding when she published California Years in 2009, an album that was fully financed by fan donations.

In her twelve albums throughout her more than thirty years as a recording artist, Sobule tackled difficult subjects like the death penalty, anorexia nervosa, reproduction, and LGBTQ+ problems. However, it was the gay-themed song “I Kissed a Girl” that first brought her humorous and moving writing to the attention of the general public.

In 1990, she published her debut album, “Things Here Are Different.” Her successful singles “Supermodel” from the film “Clueless” and “I Kissed A Girl,” which made it into the Billboard Top 20 despite being banned from some southern radio stations, garnered her a lot of attention five years later.

In addition, she appeared in an autobiographical off-Broadway musical that featured songs and anecdotes from her life and had its world premiere in 2022 at the Wild Project in New York.
