Reality TV star Sophie Kasaei has candidly opened up about her emotional struggles with “gender disappointment” during her pregnancy. The former Geordie Shore personality is expecting a baby boy this summer but has expressed feelings of sadness and dissatisfaction.

Sophie, 36, and her partner, Jordan Brooks, 31, previously celebrated the news of their baby boy with an elaborate gender reveal party earlier this year. However, despite the joyous occasion, Sophie has revealed that she is grappling with mixed emotions following a challenging two-year journey to conceive.

In a heartfelt moment on her newly launched podcast, “Shall We,” co-hosted with fellow reality star Holly Hagan, Sophie admitted to feeling “low and miserable.” The pair delved into the topic of gender disappointment, offering an honest conversation about the complexities of pregnancy emotions.

But after a two-year fertility battle, Sophie held back tears as she admitted she is struggling and ‘feeling low and miserable’.

Speaking on her new podcast, Shall We, with co-star Holly Hagan, the duo discussed gender disappointment.

Sophie said: ‘This is everything I’ve ever wanted, why do I feel this low and miserable? I just don’t like this feeling like I don’t know what the hell I’m gonna do.’

Later discussing the gender reveal party, Sophie said: ‘This is just amazing and magical but then I was like, “There’s blue”.’

Holly reassured Sophie: ‘Gender disappointment is absolutely a thing I see it all the time on social media’.

Sophie replied: ‘I think people shouldn’t be knocked down for that.’

It comes as Sophie’s boyfriend Jordan said he is ‘praying for a miracle’ as he battles a brain issue in hospital.

The TOWIE star, 31, revealed on Sunday that he was admitted to hospital over the weekend and has ‘swelling of the brain’.

In a new update on Friday, Sophie revealed she can now visit Jordan in hospital after it was revealed he isn’t ‘contagious’.

She wrote: ‘As hard as this is I am finally allowed to see my Jords as there’s nothing contagious. His strength is just amazing and we will get through this as a family.

‘Thank you for all your well wishes we are all praying for a more positive day’.

Earlier this week, Jordan is still in hospital and took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of himself lying in bed.

Alongside it, he wrote: ‘Another day in paradise. Praying for a better one or some sort of miracle.’ He didn’t go into any further detail about his current condition.

Phil Campbell, renowned for his dynamic guitar work with Motörhead, has passed away at the age of 64 on March 13, 2026. According to his family, he died peacefully after enduring an extended stay in intensive care following a complicated major surgery.

Details regarding the nature of the surgery have been kept confidential at the request of his family. This development followed the cancellation of scheduled performances by Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons in February 2026, which hinted at underlying health issues.

His struggle during these final weeks was profound. His sons, Todd, Dane, and Tyla, paid tribute to him as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather in a touching message shared on the band’s Facebook page.

Campbell became a vital part of Motörhead in 1984, just as the band reached the height of its popularity. For over three decades, the Welsh musician left an indelible mark on heavy metal with his electrifying guitar riffs, collaborating closely with Lemmy Kilmister and others.

Born in 1961 in Pontypridd, Wales, Campbell honed his craft in various local bands before being recruited by Lemmy. His entry into Motörhead during the 1980s played a crucial role in solidifying the band’s lineup during a pivotal era of their career.

The band sold over 30 million albums worldwide, with hits like Ace of Spades cementing their status. He contributed to 15 studio albums, his dual-guitar attack with Würzel driving tracks such as “Killed by Death.”

One anecdote captures his spirit: during a chaotic 1987 tour, he once fixed a busted amp mid-set with duct tape, keeping the show alive. Fans still share that clip online.

Post-Motörhead’s 2015 disbandment after Lemmy’s death, he launched this project in 2016. Featuring sons Tyla, Todd, and Dane, it blended raw energy with family bonds.

They released four albums, including We’re the Bastards in 2020. Recent tours drew packed houses, proving his fire never dimmed. That February cancellation hit hard, prioritizing recovery.

Royal Concerns: The Unseen Details in Kate and William’s Latest Photo

The evening was set to be a magnificent State Banquet, celebrating the presence of Nigeria’s president and his wife. The event promised to be a showcase of grandeur and tradition, with senior royals gathering at Windsor Castle. Guests indulged in a sumptuous meal accompanied by canapés and mocktails, topped off by the unveiling of an official portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales, resplendent in their elegant attire. All seemed perfect for such a prestigious occasion.

However, not everyone shared the enthusiasm. Comments below our online coverage the following morning reflected a rather mixed reception to the formal portrait of William and Catherine. The Princess, adorned with Diana’s tiara and a stunning gown in Nigerian green by the renowned designer Andrew Gn, stood alongside the Prince, yet the feedback was less than flattering.

A reader questioned, “And this benefits the British public, how?”

Another remarked, “Another taxpayer-funded knees-up for the elite,” further noting, “They are not hanging about spending our money this year.”

One comment humorously suggested, “Those are waxworks, aren’t they?”

‘Criminal, given all that is going on in the world.’

To be frank, the commentators have not got it wrong. Is this really the right time for a State Banquet, with photos posted online of the elaborate, over-the-top tablescaping that would put Downton Abbey to shame? This, when ordinary Brits already weighed down by the cost of living, worry about what is to come in the Middle East and how it will affect their energy bills, food shop and mortgages.

And do we really need yet another ‘Official Portrait’, this one taken by a young Nigerian-born photographer, Christianah Ebenezer? Perhaps the Palace thought that the wide grins of the Prince and Princess of Wales would gloss over the Royal Family’s tone-deaf roboticism of recent weeks.

Do we really need yet another ‘Official Portrait’, this one taken by a young Nigerian-born photographer, Christianah Ebenezer?, asks Liz Jones

The Royal Family is in crisis and William and Kate are behaving like ostriches. They need to step up, stop hiding behind medals, jewels and portrait photographers, writes Liz Jones

I imagine Kate’s face must be aching with all the performative gurning. There the couple were at the recent Baftas, failing to read the room that was more concerned with their Uncle Andrew’s arrest. Facing accusations of misconduct in public office, his homes had been searched and his emails scoured, yet on the Waleses ploughed.

There was Kate again, beaming as she handed out shamrocks to members of the Irish Guards and their Irish wolfhound mascot on St Patrick’s Day. But who cares? Is this the most urgent thing she could think to spend time on?

William, too, has been out and about in public: most notably, he appeared on a podcast to discuss his own male mental anguish when serving as a search and rescue pilot. Yet a heartfelt statement expressing support for the victims of Andrew’s friend, the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, came there none. Merely expressing your agreement for King Charles’s terse statement following Andrew’s arrest does not cut the mustard.

William and Kate’s down-with-the-people routine – ordinary, relatable, open and honest about mental health, cancer, being parents – rings hollow when they keep schtum over a senior member of their family behaving badly.

It isn’t enough to shun their cousins Eugenie and Beatrice – which amounts to little more than banning the sisters from royal carriage rides at Ascot and Sandringham Christmases. Oh, boo hoo. Those privileges mean nothing to the rest of us.

The Royal Family is in crisis and William and Kate are behaving like ostriches. They need to step up, stop hiding behind medals, jewels and portrait photographers. Being a senior royal, our future monarchs, means more than rubbing shoulders with Leo DiCaprio at the Baftas as though nothing has changed. Because everything has changed: we need reassurance, gravitas, action, real consequences. What did you know and when? And why did you do nothing about the Andrew problem until your hands were forced?

It’s little wonder that people are beginning to see William and Kate as mannequins – and not just in their Official Portrait.

Show us how worried you are. Tell us how sorry you are. Stop being myopic. You are young parents; you have a daughter, for goodness’ sake. The time for ceremony and protocol is over, because you need to be frank with us: we can take it!

As one commentator wrote of the couple’s appearance in the new official photo: ‘The Royal Ken and Barbie.’ Now is the time to show us you are not made of plastic. That you are made of steel.

This Nowruz, Iranian Australians Confront a ‘Devastating’ Reality Amid Celebrations

0

The aroma of fragrant rice fills the air, wafting from the kitchen into the dining area of a cozy Persian eatery in the northern suburbs of Sydney. This delightful scent is more than a culinary invitation; it serves as a poignant reminder of a celebration that, for many, brings a mix of happiness and sorrow this year.

Inside, the restaurant’s team is busy preparing for Nowruz, the Iranian New Year, a time-honored tradition.

“A popular dish during this celebration is fish,” shares Parya Zaghand, co-owner of Tida Persian restaurant, with SBS News.

“We blend fresh herbs with saffron-infused rice, and while in Iran we would use the exquisite fish from the Caspian Sea, here we opt for barramundi,” she explains.

This weekend, patrons will come together to enjoy meals and exchange gifts, participating in rituals that date back millennia, marking the arrival of the spring equinox.

“For us Iranians, Nowruz basically means new life, new year, new everything,” says Laleh Mirian, a customer at the restaurant.

However, for many in Australia’s roughly 85,000-strong Iranian diaspora, this year’s festivities are also tinged with sorrow.

“We have very mixed feelings, very scary feelings, because war has caused such devastation,” Mirian says.

As missiles and bombs fall across the Middle East, many fear for loved ones, especially those living in Iran. Zaghand’s family lives just outside Iran’s capital, Tehran.

“I haven’t spoken to mum and dad for days,” she says, her eyes filling with tears.

“We wake up every morning to read news of bombs falling right around the corner from where my parents live.

“There is so much uncertainty at the moment.”

The regional conflict closely follows the mass killing of protesters across Iran earlier this year. Thousands more civilians remain in detention in Iran’s prisons.

At least 7,000 people were killed during the protests, according to the United States-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), which is investigating another 11,700 suspected deaths.

Iranian authorities have disputed these figures and say the number of casualties is just over 3,000, including security forces personnel.

Community is going through ‘traumatic’ times

Queensland-based academic Rana Dadpour, spokesperson for advocacy group AusIran, says Nowruz holds a deeply symbolic role within the Iranian Australian community, representing a time for mutual support, solidarity and coming together.

“Our community is going through a very traumatic experience after everything that has happened in Iran, including the January massacres, where thousands of people were killed,” she tells SBS News.

In recent weeks, an internet blackout in Iran — following 28 February US-Israeli strikes — has disconnected millions worldwide from their families and Iranians from the outside world.

Zaghand migrated from Iran in 2008 and, three years ago, opened the restaurant with her partner, Milad Amiri. She says retaining a connection to culture brings comfort amid uncertainty.

“Emotions come and go like the wind and friendships are falling apart in the community, because people are going through grief, anger and rage,” she says.

“So, it is more important than ever that we sit together, we eat, we laugh, we cheer and we celebrate.”

What is Nowruz?

Nowruz — No-Ruz or Farsi for “new day” — is an ancient festival celebrating the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It is observed on the day of the spring equinox, when the day and night are of equal length, which usually falls between March 19 and 21.

The festival is rooted in Zoroastrianism, a religion practised in ancient Persia that predates Christianity and Islam.

Nowruz includes family gatherings and parties with lots of special food and poetry to welcome the new dawn. The celebrations last 13 days and offer an opportunity to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future.

“Nowruz is about staying together and being with the family and keeping the flame of that tradition alive,” Zaghand says.

People stand around a fire as they celebrate the Nowruz spring festival at night.
Many people take part in the vibrant tradition of Chaharshanbe Suri, where they jump over small fires during Nowruz celebrations.

In the lead-up to Nowruz, many people take part in the vibrant tradition of Chaharshanbe Suri, jumping over fires in a symbolic act of renewal. The ritual is believed to burn away the hardships and negativity of the past year, making way for a fresh start.

Fire itself holds deep spiritual meaning, especially in Zoroastrianism, where it represents warmth, energy, and the creative power of the divine.

Despite its cultural significance, in Iran the practice has faced increasing restrictions. Iranian authorities have long discouraged the celebrations, and this year, public gatherings for fire festivals have been banned altogether.

In Australia, the current conflict has also reshaped how Nowruz is observed. Some community events have been cancelled or postponed, while others have shifted focus toward solidarity and mutual support.

Even so, many families continue to honour the occasion at home, maintaining cherished traditions such as setting up a Haft-Seen table adorned with symbolic items that reflect hope, renewal, and prosperity.

“We put seven things [on the table] that start with the [Persian] letter ‘S’ in Farsi,” Zaghand explains.

“Sumac [Persian spice], for example, which brings zest of life, which is the renewal of life.

“We also have a tub of wheatgrass sprouts, the green shoots called Sabzeh symbolise the rejuvenation of nature.”

For many, celebrating Nowruz is not about ignoring pain and loss but protecting what generations have fought to defend.

“These traditions have, for thousands of years, remained part of our identity,” Zaghand says.

Of kindness and community

Across the world, more than 300 million people from diverse ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds are taking part in Nowruz celebrations.

Dadpour says eating together and reading poetry with loved ones late into the night helps ease anxiety during the ongoing war in the Middle East.

“Cultural and historical celebrations really help people to overcome fear and loss,” she says.

“Nowruz also helps people to get closer, to show kindness to each other and to realise that they are not alone and the community.”

Hope for renewal

Zaghland is among those hoping that spring in the Northern Hemisphere leads to positive change in a troubled region.

“There has been so much loss, so much blood that has been shed. But spring doesn’t wait: winter ends, and Nowruz always comes, for us to celebrate life again.

“So, this year we are honouring people who have lost their lives for the betterment of the future of our motherland, Iran.”

Tragic Betrayal: 16-Year-Olds Mock Teen Victim in Songs After Fatal Shooting Under Guise of Seeking Help

A tragic incident unfolded in Texas when a high school student welcomed two teenagers, whom he believed to be friends, into his home. This gesture of trust ended in betrayal as they allegedly shot him in the back of the head and robbed him, authorities and the victim’s mother report.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced that two 16-year-old boys have been charged with murder in connection with the death of 18-year-old Michael Spivey. The accused teens are currently held at the Harris County juvenile detention center.

The incident occurred on December 26, 2025, just a day after Christmas. Spivey was at his residence on Edsall Drive in Spring, Texas, when he stepped outside to meet someone and returned shortly thereafter with one or two individuals, according to Gonzalez.

Although the authorities have not disclosed the identities of the two teenage suspects, Vanessa Garcia, Spivey’s mother, revealed that her son regarded them as friends.

“They claimed they needed to charge their phones and sought his help that night,” Garcia shared with ABC affiliate KTRK in Houston. “My son’s kindness was exploited by them.”

Spivey was shot in the back of the head inside his room, his mother added. There were reportedly no signs of forced entry or struggle in the home, and investigators worked to uncover what they believe happened.

Following the shooting, the two suspects reportedly went online and made “songs” about Spivey, “making fun of him” as if he were “a joke,” Garcia said.

Months later, on Saturday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged one of the suspects, and on Monday, they arrested and charged the other. Garcia wants them to be prosecuted as adults.

“A juvenile is a child who doesn’t know what they’re doing yet,” she told the local TV station. “They knew what they were doing. They went there with the intent to do it.”

Trump’s Surprising Rating of Macron Amidst US-French Tensions Over Middle East Strategy

0

On Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron advocated for an immediate reduction in hostilities in the Middle East. He emphasized the need to cease U.S.–Israeli assaults on vital infrastructure as tensions escalate throughout the region.

“France urges the swift enactment of a halt on attacks targeting civilian infrastructure, particularly those linked to water and energy,” Macron expressed on X, highlighting France’s commitment to diplomacy amid heightened military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran and its allies. “The freedom and security of navigation must be reinstated,” he added.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump recently offered a nuanced perspective on France’s involvement, noting he had communicated with Macron and felt cautiously hopeful that Paris would play a role in safeguarding the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial passageway for global oil and energy transportation.

Trump and Macron speaking during a meeting

Trump described Macron’s efforts by stating that on “a scale of 0 to 10,” he rated Macron as “an eight.”

On “a scale of 0 to 10,” Trump said Macron had been “an eight.”

“Not perfect, but it’s France,” he said at a press briefing in the White House Monday.

Trump went on to say he believes Macron “is going to help” regarding securing the Strait of Hormuz, but added, “I don’t do a hard sell on them, because my attitude is we don’t need anybody. We’re the strongest nation in the world.”

“I’m almost doing it . . . because I want to find out how they react,” Trump said, suggesting the U.S. is also testing its allies.

In a future crisis, he warned, “I’ve been saying for years that if we ever did need them, they won’t be there. Not all of them, but they won’t be there.”

The divide reflects a broader question shaping the conflict: whether diplomacy can contain Iran’s regional network, or whether force is required to dismantle it.

That tension is playing out most clearly over the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman that serves as one of the world’s most critical energy choke points, with roughly one-fifth of global oil supplies passing through it each day.

In recent weeks, Iran has disrupted traffic through the strait with drone, missile and naval threats, raising fears of a broader economic shock as commercial shipping slows and global energy markets face increasing uncertainty.

Macron said France “will never take part in operations to open or free” the critical waterway “in the current context,” emphasizing that France is “not a party to the conflict.”

Paris instead has proposed escorting commercial vessels only after hostilities subside, in coordination with regional actors.

At the same time, European allies — including France — signaled they are not entirely stepping back from efforts to secure the strategic waterway.

Leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan expressed in a joint statement released Thursday a “readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts” to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, while calling on Iran to “cease immediately its threats” against commercial shipping.

A European diplomat told Fox News that the United Kingdom is leading a diplomatic effort to build support among European and Gulf partners for a coordinated response, with discussions underway on how such a mission could be structured.

However, European officials remain divided over timing, with concerns that launching such an effort during active hostilities could introduce new high-value targets into the conflict, according to the diplomat.

France pushes diplomacy across Iran-linked fronts

Lebanon has emerged as a second front in the war after Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group, began attacking Israel following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February.

The group launched rockets and drones from southern Lebanon, prompting Israeli retaliatory strikes and escalating the conflict into a broader regional confrontation tied directly to Tehran, Iran, and its proxy network.

While distancing itself from direct military involvement, France is intensifying its diplomatic push in Lebanon, urging direct negotiations between Israel and Beirut following signals from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun that he is open to talks.

French officials view this as a “window of opportunity” to stabilize the border and prevent further escalation, arguing that both sides share an interest in preventing Lebanon from becoming a launchpad for attacks against Israel.

But Israeli officials have sharply pushed back, arguing that diplomacy cannot succeed while Hezbollah remains armed and active.

The Israel Defense Forces said Thursday that since Hezbollah joined the fighting following strikes on Iranian regime, the group has launched hundreds of rockets, missiles and drones toward Israel.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said Israel has come under sustained attack from Lebanese territory in recent weeks.

“Since March 2nd, Israel has been attacked from Lebanese territory more than 2,000 times with missiles and drones,” he wrote on X Tuesday

Sa’ar warned that the crisis extends beyond the region, calling disruptions to maritime routes “naval terrorism that harms the global economy.”

While expressing openness to normalization with Lebanon, Sa’ar made clear, “The obstacle to this is Hezbollah,” adding that Beirut must take “meaningful action” against the group’s weapons, funding and leadership.

Analysts say that gap — between France’s diplomatic push and Israel’s security demands — reflects a deeper structural problem that has persisted for years.

France has “potential influence that they never use … essentially the stick,” David Schenker, a former U.S. assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs who oversaw Lebanon policy during the first Trump administration and now directs the Program on Arab Politics at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, told Fox News Digital.

He argued that Paris has failed to use its leverage to pressure Hezbollah or its backers.

While Schenker said direct negotiations between the Lebanese government and Israel could be useful, he questioned whether they would change realities on the ground.

“I don’t see how a ceasefire in and of itself changes the status quo,” he said.

Hezbollah

Lebanese leaders repeatedly have pledged to assert a state monopoly over weapons, but “they haven’t really done much,” Schenker said, adding there is “zero confidence” they would move forward given Hezbollah’s opposition.

Even the Lebanese army has signaled its limits, prioritizing “national unity and the safety of the army above disarmament,” he said.

On the ground, the situation continues to deteriorate rapidly.

Violence in Lebanon has surged dramatically since the war in Iran began.

“There has been a 400% increase in violence events in Lebanon,” said Bassel Doueik, a researcher at the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED), adding that Israeli strikes and Hezbollah clashes have displaced at least 1 million people.

Doueik said Israel appears to be seeking to create a buffer zone south of the Litani River in Lebanon, warning the escalation could lead to “another occupation of southern Lebanon similar to 1982.”

At the same time, Hezbollah — long backed by Iran — continues to operate as a powerful armed force inside Lebanon, complicating efforts to reach any durable political settlement.

France has played a leading diplomatic role in Lebanon for years, including backing the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). But the mission has faced growing challenges, including restrictions on movement and attacks on its personnel, raising criticism about its effectiveness.

Critics argue that repeated diplomatic initiatives have failed to curb Hezbollah’s military buildup, leaving Israel increasingly skeptical of new proposals.

macron trump

“The French are specializing in carrots,” Schenker said, arguing that Paris has been reluctant to use pressure despite its influence in Lebanon.

But he added that the transatlantic divide is not entirely one-sided.

“This is a war that was launched by Israel and the United States, and they disagreed with it,” he said, noting that protecting global energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz should be “an international responsibility.”

A jury in California has determined that Elon Musk is responsible for misleading investors regarding his plans to purchase Twitter, a move that led to a significant decline in the social media company’s stock value. The verdict comes as part of a class-action lawsuit filed in federal court in 2022, just prior to Musk’s final acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion.

The lawsuit, brought against the billionaire entrepreneur, claims that investors were misled into selling their shares following a tweet by Musk. On May 13, 2022, Musk announced that his Twitter acquisition was “temporarily on hold,” causing market ripples.

Musk’s hesitation stemmed from concerns over the prevalence of spam and fake accounts on the platform, which he suspected were more numerous than Twitter had publicly acknowledged. According to Musk, approximately five percent of accounts may have been bots.

The plaintiffs in the case argued that Musk’s statements were strategically made to depress Twitter’s stock price, allowing him to renegotiate the purchase at a more favorable rate. Their contention was that these actions constituted a deliberate attempt to manipulate the market to his advantage.

The plaintiffs argued that Musk made these statements to intentionally drive down the value of the shares so he could negotiate a lower purchase price.

On May 16, 2022, Musk publicly suggested that the deal price could change, saying during a Miami tech conference that it wouldn’t be ‘out of the question’ to buy Twitter for less than the $44 billion that had already been agreed upon.

After nearly four days of deliberation, a nine-person jury in San Francisco found that Musk misled investors with his tweet saying the deal was ‘temporarily on hold’.

At the same time, jurors did not agree with the plaintiffs that Musk orchestrated a deliberate fraud scheme.

The jury awarded damages that are expected to total around $2.5 billion, which will depend entirely on how many people file to be part of the class action, according to attorneys for the plaintiffs.

Musk is worth about $814 billion, with most of wealth tied up in shares of Tesla.

‘It’s an important victory, not just for investors of Twitter, but for the public markets,’ said Mark Molumphy, an attorney for the plaintiffs. ‘I think the jury’s verdict sends a strong message that just because you’re a rich and powerful person, you still have to obey the law, and no man is above the law.’

Musk’s lawyers plan to appeal the case, citing separate unrelated cases in Texas and Delaware where Musk won appeals.

‘We view today’s verdict, where the jury found both for and against the plaintiffs and found no fraud scheme, as a bump in the road. And we look forward to vindication on appeal,’ the legal team at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan said in a statement.

The Daily Mail approached Musk’s lawyers for comment.

The nearly three-week trial in San Francisco federal court for the Northern District of California began on March 2 and featured testimony from former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and former CFO Ned Segal.

Musk also testified for more than day, during which he maintained that Twitter’s leadership lied about the number of bots there were.

He also claimed that his decision to follow through on the deal in October 2022 provided a huge windfall for investors who held onto their shares.

‘I can’t control whether people sell their stock, but everyone who held the stock fared extremely well,’ he said on the stand.

The plaintiffs argued that Musk engineered the chaotic six months it took for the deal to eventually go through.

It began in April 2022, when he signed a binding merger agreement to buy the company at a valuation of roughly $54.20 per share.

In July 2022, Musk officially sought to end the deal, prompting Twitter to sue him for breach of contract. On July 11, the stock sank to $32.65, roughly 40 percent lower than the offer price.

The trial for that case was set to kick off in October 2022, but Musk confirmed in his own testimony that his lawyers advised him ‘there was no choice’ but to buy Twitter at the original price.

So, on October 27, 2022, the deal closed, just before the court-ordered deadline. Musk has since overhauled Twitter, renaming it X, laying off thousands of employees and merging the company with his AI startup xAI.

Musk said he still believes the inflated user numbers on Twitter should have given him grounds to walk away from the deal. He also acknowledged that his tweet about the number of bots wasn’t his ‘wisest’.

‘I am not sure I would call it incredibly stupid, but if it led to this trial, it probably qualifies as such,’ he said.

Viral Video Sparks Nearly $1M in Donations for Elderly DoorDash Driver: Richard Pulley’s Inspiring Journey Continues

Despite receiving nearly $1 million in donations, 78-year-old DoorDash driver Richard Pulley has decided not to retire just yet.

On Friday, Pulley was handed an astounding check for $965,868, a result of the generosity sparked by a viral video. The footage, recorded a few weeks prior, showed him meticulously climbing stairs to deliver a Starbucks order in Eastern Tennessee.

Customer Brittany Smith shared the video, captured on her Ring doorbell camera, which highlighted Pulley’s exceptional dedication to his delivery work.

The video quickly gained traction online, motivating strangers to contribute to a substantial fundraiser. The aim was to relieve Pulley and his wife Brenda, who frequently accompanies him on his deliveries, from the burden of bills and medical expenses.

“My wife was employed by an insurance company before they let her go,” Pulley explained to TODAY.com. He mentioned that even with Social Security, managing their bills and paying for her medication has been challenging.

“When she left, it really put a pinch on us to pay bills. I had gotten lazy. You know, when we get 65 and retire … I wasn’t doing a lot, but all of a sudden, I had to get to work.”

Pulley dove headfirst into gig work, completing nearly 6,000 DoorDash orders, often with Brenda riding shotgun.

The work gave him purpose and a reason to keep moving, even as viral fame caught up with him.

“The last couple of shifts have worked out hard because people stop and take pictures with me and all sorts of things,” he said. “I’ll get back to work in the next few days.”

Despite the overwhelming generosity of strangers, Pulley says the work itself is part of why he keeps going.

“They’ve set my wife and I up so that we can live a more comfortable life, but after a week or two of this and it cools down, we’ll get back to work because I feel good being useful,” he said.

The fundraiser, titled “Give Richard a Chance to Rest Again,” has drawn more than 32,000 donations, including a $20,000 contribution from DoorDash CEO Tony Xu, who praised Pulley for his thousands of deliveries.

Smith, who helped spark the campaign, joined the couple at a local burger joint last week to show them the impact of the donations.

Married for over 56 years, the Pulleys were left stunned by the outpouring of generosity.

“It’s just really difficult to believe that there’s that many people that are that generous to try to help us,” Pulley told WSMV. “It’s taking a lot of pressure off us and making life livable once again.”

Brenda added, “Sometimes you look at all the bills you need to pay … if [you] don’t, you going to end up in the hospital with something even more expensive.”

Video Released of Justin Timberlake’s 2024 DUI Arrest by Police

NEW YORK — Justin Timberlake faced challenges performing field sobriety tests after being stopped by police in New York’s Hamptons in 2024. Officers suspected the singer of driving under the influence, as revealed in video footage released on Friday.

Video has been released of Justin Timberlake’s 2024 arrest in Sag Harbor.

At one point during the tests, Timberlake admitted to the officers, “These are like really hard tests.”

The video footage, which spans approximately eight hours, captures the moment Timberlake was initially pulled over by Sag Harbor police. Authorities stated he ran a stop sign in the village center, drifted out of his lane, and exited his BMW with a noticeable smell of alcohol in June.

The former NSYNC star, now a successful solo artist and actor, informed the officers that he had only consumed one martini and was following friends home in the upscale beach community of the Hamptons, located about 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of New York City.

When questioned by an officer about his reason for being in town, Timberlake responded, “I’m on a world tour.”

“Doing what?” the officer asks.

“Hard to explain,” Timberlake says.

After stammering a bit, he says “World tour. I’m Justin Timberlake.”

The officer eventually responds: “You are Justin Timberlake? Do you have a license with you?”

Timberlake, who ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, is asked by officers to walk heel-to-toe in a straight line on the road and lift one leg. At times he seems flustered listening to the instructions. He apologizes to officers and tells them his heart is racing.

“I’m a little nervous,” Timberlake says at one point.

In the back seat of the police car, he asks: “Why are you arresting me?”

Back at the police station, Timberlake is informed he will be held overnight, to which he says, “I’m going to be here all night? You guys are wild, man.”

He asks the officer to keep the light on in the cell as they lock the door.

The release by Sag Harbor Police comes after the village and Timberlake’s lawyers agreed to disclose a redacted version of the footage. The Associated Press was among several media outlets that filed a records request seeking the release of the video.

Timberlake’s lawyers had sued to block the release of the video, arguing it would “devastate” Timberlake’s privacy by revealing “intimate, highly personal, and sensitive details.” They also said it would cause “severe and irreparable harm” to his reputation by subjecting him to “public ridicule and harassment.”

But in a joint filing with the village Friday, Timberlake’s lawyers acknowledged the video “does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy under” the state’s public information law and agreed to its release.

Timberlake’s lawyers and representatives didn’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment Friday.

Sag Harbor officials, in a statement provided by the village’s lawyer, Vincent Toomey, said they are pleased the matter was resolved and they were able to comply with state public records law.

“From the beginning of this matter, after Mr. Timberlake’s arrest, the Village has attempted to comply with the mandates of the Freedom of Information Law,” the statement reads. “As would be true in any case involving records or video footage from our Police Department, such material is reviewed and redacted to address public and officer safety concerns as well as personal privacy considerations.”

Timberlake pleaded guilty to impaired driving in September 2024.

The Tennessee native agreed to give a public safety announcement against the perils of drunken driving as part of the plea deal that knocked down his initial misdemeanor charge to a noncriminal traffic violation.

He was also sentenced to a $500 fine, 25 hours of community service and a 90-day suspension of his license.
