One Nation’s Meteoric Rise Poised to Reshape Regional Politics and Send Shockwaves Beyond Borders

0
One Nation’s strong performance in tonight’s South Australian election could have a domino effect across the border, casting further doubt on Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan’s leadership.

The recent elections in South Australia saw both major political parties losing votes to One Nation, even as Labor Premier Peter Malinauskas secured a second term with ease.

Political analyst Charles Croucher foresees that One Nation’s strong showing could create “seismic shockwaves” in Victoria as it gears up for its state election in November.

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has claimed "anonymous gossip" from "scallywags" about her leadership is unfounded.

“This development could serve as a wake-up call for Victoria, especially for Labor, which has traditionally depended on regional and outer suburban constituencies,” Croucher remarked.

“The predominant sentiment among One Nation supporters is one of frustration, feeling as though they’ve been neglected,” he added.

“This sentiment is even more pronounced in Victoria than it is in South Australia,” Croucher noted.

Croucher said he “would not be shocked” if the embattled Victorian premier was bumped from the top job within the next week.

Rumblings of a leadership spill within the Victorian Labor Party peaked when Allan was pictured dining on dim sum with Labor backbenchers in a Chinatown restaurant.

However, Allan denied the rumours, insisting she had the support of the party room and questioning the source of the rumours.

Allan denied the lunch was an attempt to sure up support.

“When I have the time in my diary I am often at a catch up,” she said.

“I think what that demonstrates is we are a good strong united Labor team.”

With the state election coming later this year, Labor sits behind the Liberal Party in the polls and is also being trailed closely by One Nation.

Colorado School Secretary Allegedly Involved with Minor Still Missing

0

A school secretary from Colorado is on the run after being accused of engaging in sexual activities with an eighth-grade student.

Kristen Duus, Public Information Officer for the Greeley Police Department, informed Oxygen that Brenda Meza is still at large. This comes days after authorities declared the 34-year-old wanted on multiple felony charges related to sexual assault.

Duus noted that there are currently “no updates” concerning the whereabouts of the former school administrator.

The Greeley Police responded to Franklin Middle School on February 12 following a report of sexual assault involving a 13-year-old student, according to an official statement.

Investigators revealed that Meza had allegedly engaged in ongoing sexual abuse of the minor over several months. Consequently, Brenda Meza is now facing several felony charges and is actively being sought by the police.

Brenda Meza is Accused of Repeatedly Having Sex With Teen, Providing Weed

The school secretary—who also served as a coach on the school’s cross-country team and a club advisor—allegedly began a relationship with the teen after he’d found her Instagram account over Thanksgiving break, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The New York Post. The pair allegedly began sending text messages and sexting photos of themselves before the relationship escalated in January, authorities said.

According to the allegations laid out in the affidavit, Meza and the teen met at a Walmart parking lot, consumed marijuana edibles and BuzzBallz cocktails, and then “started to kiss and touch each other.” They eventually moved into the back of the vehicle and had sex, authorities alleged in the court documents.

Authorities said the pair met up a second time a few weeks later at a local park to share marijuana and have sex again. Investigators allegedly found photos on Meza’s phone that showed the teen drinking alcohol and holding marijuana blunts, along with another image of the two together. The teen told investigators, per the affidavit, that they also had sex a third time at the same park.

Phone data allegedly revealed that Meza and the teen had texted each other “I love you” 81 times between Jan. 29 and Feb. 12.

During an interview with the victim, the teen told investigators that Meza told him she got jealous when she saw him talking with girls his own age, per the affidavit. Police said she also allegedly told the teen that his manhood was bigger than her husband’s.

The teen later told police, per the affidavit, that although he thought the banter—including comments that she believed she’d known him in another life—was “corny” he went along with it.

The illicit relationship was reportedly revealed after the school received an anonymous tip. Meza initially denied the relationship to school officials, according to the court documents obtained by The Post, but later confessed to getting high with the teen to her husband, who called the police.

During an interview with police, authorities said Meza allegedly admitted to having sex with the teen in the back of the car and to deleting nude photos from her phone.

Brenda Meza is Terminated From Franklin Middle School

Meza was placed on administrative leave at Franklin Middle School on Feb. 12 and later terminated on Feb. 25, according to a letter sent to families obtained by KDVR from school principal Dr. Suzette Luster.

Luster told parents in the letter that police believe Meza has fled the state.

“Student safety and security is always our first priority,” Luster wrote. “We are very sorry if these allegations have negatively impacted our school, staff and students. If your student needs extra support during this time, please reach out to our counseling office.”

According to the local outlet, Meza had been employed at the school since 2020.

Police have asked that anyone with information about the investigation to contact Detective Austin Burckley at Austin.Burckley@greeleypd.com. Those with information about her current whereabouts are urged to call 911 or contact Officer Zach Eberhard at Zach.Eberhard@greeleypd.com or 970-502-2186.

Prosecutors Halt Cremation of Suzanne Morphew: New Allegations Against Barry Morphew Unveiled

0

In a surprising twist to an ongoing legal saga, Barry Morphew, the man accused of murdering his wife Suzanne Morphew, reportedly approved her cremation earlier this year. This decision was met with immediate intervention from prosecutors who sought to halt the process, according to newly surfaced court documents.

Barry’s legal troubles have been tumultuous. A Colorado grand jury re-indicted him in June 2025 after a previous prosecution attempt in 2021 failed, leading to the dismissal of charges at that time. Barry stands accused of murdering his wife, who vanished without a trace on Mother’s Day in 2020. Tragically, Suzanne’s remains were discovered later, adding a grim reality to the case.

The couple had been residing near Salida, Colorado, when Suzanne, aged 49, was last seen alive. Despite the serious charges, Barry Morphew has maintained his innocence, entering a not guilty plea in January. His trial is slated for October, a date that looms large for all involved.

In a related development, February saw attorneys representing Suzanne’s daughters, Macy and Mallory, file a motion pressing the state for the release of their mother’s remains. However, this motion was withdrawn as of last Thursday, signaling yet another legal maneuver in this complex case.

Barry Morphew exits court after charges for wife's murder are dropped.

In a poignant moment captured in April 2022, Barry Morphew was seen leaving a Fremont County courthouse in Canon City, Colorado, alongside his daughters, Macy and Mallory, after the initial charges against him were dropped. In a May 2023 interview with “Good Morning America,” Morphew vehemently argued that Colorado authorities had misdirected their focus on him as the alleged perpetrator of Suzanne’s death. This public assertion adds another layer of complexity and tension as the trial date approaches.

Attorneys for both Macy and Mallory Morphew said in their initial filing that their mother’s remains were at Swan Lake Funeral Home in Colorado Springs, and had a funeral service planned for their mother when law enforcement took possession of the body.

The lawyers argued that law enforcement in Colorado had “stopped them from exercising their constitutional rights” to hold a funeral for their mother and bury her remains.

“This government conduct is outrageous, cruel, and shocking to the conscience,” attorneys for Macy and Mallory Morphew argued.

Responding to attorneys for Suzanne Morphew’s daughters, prosecutors said that Barry Morphew signed off on the cremation of Suzanne Morphew. In a court filing, Barry Morphew did not take a position on the release of her body.

Prosecutors said that Suzanne Morphew’s remains are “material evidence” to their murder case against Barry Morphew, asking the court to deny the motion to release her body.

“The Defendant in a murder case authorized the release of the murder victim’s remains, prior to pending motions litigation and jury trial, and paid to have them cremated prior to disclosures of his experts’ opinions or court rulings on admissibility of scientific testing regarding said remains,” prosecutors wrote.

Fox News Digital reached out to Barry Morphew’s attorney.

Timeline, according to prosecutors:

– Jan. 29, 2026: Barry Morphew signs off on the release of Suzanne Morphew’s remains from the El Paso Coroner’s Office to the Swan-Law Funeral Directors funeral home.

– Feb. 17, 2026: Law enforcement was notified that Suzanne Morphew’s remains were released to a funeral home and began the process to apply for a search warrant to take custody of the remains as “material evidence.”

– Feb. 18, 2026: A court authorized the search warrant for law enforcement to take possession of Suzanne Morphew’s body.

– Feb. 19, 2026: While collecting Suzanne Morphew’s remains, Undersheriff Alex Walker was informed that the remains were set to be cremated the next day.

– Feb. 24, 2026: A court authorized another search warrant for documents related to Suzanne Morphew’s remains, which include “two signed forms with Defendant Barry Morphew’s signature on them.” One of the forms authorized the cremation of Suzanne Morphew.

– March 19, 2026: Suzanne Morphew’s daughters withdrew their attempt to force the state to release their mother’s body.

Notably, Suzanne Morphew’s sister Melinda Balzar and brother David Moorman both “strongly object” to the release of her body, according to prosecutors.

“They both noted concerns with the integrity of the evidence and separately indicated their desire to discuss bringing Suzanne back to Indiana. It was their position that others in their family would agree,” prosecutors wrote.

Colin McCallin, a Colorado-based lawyer and former deputy district attorney for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Colorado, told Fox News Digital he would be concerned as a prosecutor if the remains were released.

“If I were a prosecutor on this case, I would be very concerned if the remains were turned over to the family. [If] Ms. Morphew’s remains were cremated, and then somehow the defense wanted to allege later that they wanted access to the body for their own testing, for their own forensic examination, for example. And then they claim, ‘oh, we can’t do that because we don’t have access to body.’”

A hearing regarding Suzanne Morphew’s remains is scheduled for March 30. A trial in the case is currently scheduled to begin Oct. 13.

She disappeared from the couple’s home in Chaffee County on May 10, 2020, prompting a massive search that initially turned up few answers.

Barry Morphew was first charged with her murder in 2021, but those charges were dropped the following year after prosecutors cited issues with the case and said they were close to discovering new evidence that could change its direction. His defense team argued at the time the case was dismissed because prosecutors were unlikely to win at trial.

After the charges were dropped, he left Colorado and relocated to Cave Creek, Arizona — more than 600 miles from where his wife disappeared. While living there, he kept a low profile and used aliases, including “Bruce” and “Lee Moore.” Acquaintances later told Fox News Digital they were unaware of his connection to the high-profile Colorado case until his re-arrest.

Suzanne Morphew’s remains were discovered in September 2023 in a shallow grave in the San Luis Valley, roughly an hour south of the family’s home. An autopsy later ruled her death a homicide.

According to court records, a powerful animal tranquilizer known as BAM — a combination of butorphanol, azaperone and medetomidine — was found in her bone marrow. Prosecutors said the presence of a metabolized form of the drug indicates she was alive long enough to process it, ruling out accidental or environmental contamination.

The indictment alleges Barry Morphew had access to BAM through his work with deer and was the only private citizen in the area known to possess the drug at the time of his wife’s disappearance. Investigators have also pointed to evidence involving a tranquilizer dart rifle found in the home, along with phone and vehicle data they say contradict his account of events.

After Barry Morphew was re-indicted, he was arrested in Goodyear, Arizona, extradited to Colorado and later released on bond in September after supporters helped post part of his $3 million bond. He remains under house arrest with an ankle monitor.

FBI Raids Home of Lebanese-Born Restaurant Worker Following Synagogue Attack with Explosive-Laden Truck, Citing Airstrike-Related Motive

0

Late Thursday night, federal agents conducted a raid on the residence of a Lebanese-born restaurant worker accused of driving a truck loaded with explosives into a synagogue in Michigan and opening fire.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, allegedly targeted Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township. The synagogue, which also functions as a preschool, was attacked following Ghazali’s reported loss of several family members due to an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.

During the incident, a security officer was injured when struck by the vehicle, and the attacker was subsequently shot and killed by a guard at the scene around 12:20 p.m. The van ignited, leaving the suspect’s body severely burned.

Further investigation revealed that Ghazali was a naturalized U.S. citizen from Lebanon, employed at a restaurant in Dearborn Heights, a Detroit suburb. FBI agents were later seen conducting a search of his home in the area.

Mo Baydoun, the mayor of the suburb, stated that Ghazali had suffered the loss of several family members, including his niece and nephew, in an Israeli airstrike on their residence in Lebanon.

An unnamed source told CBS News the attack by Israel was ten days ago, and that two of Ghazali’s brothers were also killed.

Israel’s strikes followed the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which prompted renewed attacks by Hezbollah against Israel.

The unnamed CBS source added that Ghazali’s ex-wife said he phoned her shortly before the attack, asking her to take care of their children.

Authorities said they found the suspect’s body inside the vehicle, armed with a rifle.

‘He breached the building, drove down the hall, and he was engaged by security,’ Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said of the armed attacker at a news conference.

Ghazali was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the United States through Detroit Metropolitan airport on May 10, 2011, after alien relative and fiancé petitions filed in December 2009 were approved in April 2010, according to the New York Post.

He then applied for naturalization on October 20, 2015, and became a citizen on February 5, 2016, under the Obama administration, the outlet said.

Records obtained by the Detroit News show Ghazali’s ex-wife filed for divorce in Wayne County Circuit Court in August 2024, and a divorce was granted seven months later, in March 2025.

Federal authorities said at a news conference that they are probing the horrific incident as a ‘targeted act of violence’ against the Jewish community.

No students or staff were injured in the attack, but a security guard was taken to the hospital after being struck by the vehicle. He is expected to recover.

Thirty law enforcement officers were also taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said at the news conference.

‘When all of our people collectively went in that building to search out the threat, to remove innocent, a lot of them took in [a] significant amount of smoke inhalation, and they’re at the hospital being treated,’ Bouchard said.

Authorities said they then received a call about an active shooter at the synagogue at 12.19pm, and West Bloomfield police were at the scene within five minutes.

Photos shared online showed a large police presence on the scene with smoke coming out of windows and a vent on the roof.

Scores of police vehicles from neighboring departments, a SWAT team, bomb technicians and bomb-sniffing dogs also responded to the scene.

The synagogue is a reform Jewish place of worship that was open at the time of the attack. It has one of the largest congregations in the country.

One woman who spoke to Michigan WDIV news outlet, named Lisa, said that the preschool was in use at the time.

She told the outlet: ‘I’m scared to death for my friends, I’ve never seen anything like this. My first thought was the children.

‘Parents and grandparents are coming and they’re scared to death for their children. This is senseless, this is not okay.’

As she spoke, several adults could be seen embracing one another in tears.

Soon after the attack, a spokesman for Michigan State Police said: ‘We are asking for community members to stay away from the area to allow for police response. Troopers are also increasing patrols at other places of worship in the district.’

Sheriff Bouchard said law enforcement had been on high alert since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran nearly two weeks ago.

‘We’ve been talking for two weeks about the potential, sadly, of this happening,’ he said. ‘So there was no lack of preparation.

The sheriff added: ‘All Jewish facilities in the area are going to have a lot of extra presence around it until we figure this out.’

The Jewish Federation of Detroit has advised all Jewish organizations in the area ‘to go into lockout protocol – nobody in or out of your building’.

FBI Detroit led an Active Shooter Attack Prevention and Preparedness (ASAPP) training for the clergy and staff of Temple Israel in West Bloomfield in late January, nearly two months before Thursday’s attack.

‘The FBI course combines lessons learned from years of research and employs scenario-based exercises to help participants practice the decision-making process of the Run, Hide, Fight principles and take necessary actions for survival,’ the agency wrote in a post on X.

‘We appreciate them for having us. Our Division has partnered with many organizations in Michigan and is committed to protecting schools, workplaces, houses of worship, medical facilities, transportation centers, government facilities, other public gathering sites, and communities.’

Sheriff Bouchard has praised Temple Israel security for their response to the active shooter.

‘I’m deeply proud of the response not only from the security that was on site but also of all the police officers and the firefighters that are here now,’ she said.

‘Training certainly helped to mitigate what happened here today.

‘Everything that was supposed to happen, happened. Security did their job, and then the responders did theirs.’

British Educator and New Zealand Cousin, Both 67, Tragically Killed by Charging Elephant During Zambian Walking Safari, Inquest Reveals

0

A retired British teacher and her cousin tragically lost their lives in Zambia after being trampled by an elephant while on safari, a coroner has determined.

Janet Taylor Easton, 67, and her cousin Alison Taylor, also 67, from New Zealand, were killed on July 3 of last year in South Luangwa National Park.

Known by her friends as Janice, Easton had been a chemistry teacher at Titus Salt School in Baildon, Bradford, before retiring in August 2022.

Bradford Coroner’s Court heard the verdict from Assistant Coroner Caroline Chandler on Tuesday. The inquest, which had been delayed pending a report from the Zambian Ministry of Tourism, concluded with the coroner’s findings.

According to a report by the BBC, Chandler noted that the Zambian report offered little new information and ultimately ruled the deaths as a tragic misadventure.

The inquest heard Ms Easton and her cousin had gone on a walking safari holiday to South Luangwa National Park, which had been organised by travel company Expert Africa.

Ms Chandler said the women had planned to go on a guided walk to the Luangwa River, where they would cross by canoe and continue on an onward flight to a Bush camp.

The inquest was told the group were accompanied by a guide and followed by a tracker.

Ms Chandler said the guide spotted a female elephant with a younger elephant, but the animals were in the distance and ‘appeared peaceful’.

‘The guide adjusted the walk so they were downwind and remained undetected,’ she said.

But what happened next occurred in ‘a matter of seconds,’ she said.

‘The tracker saw the elephant charging from behind and shouted towards the scout, who fired a warning shot. The elephant did not stop. The elephant reached the group very quickly, and Janice fell.’

The inquest was told the cause of death was traumatic thoracic injuries and an elephant attack.

Recording her conclusion, Chandler said: ‘Janice was on a walking safari and went out with all intent and purpose on what she intended to be a lovely excursion that day. She certainly didn’t anticipate that it would end in the way that it very sadly did.’

The elephant was hit and wounded by the gunshots, but the guides were unable to prevent the attack, and both women died at the scene.

The pair of tourists had stayed for four days in the camp, and they were heading to another camp named Takwela Camp before the attack.

A local posted a tribute to the two women. ‘Near Big Lagoon Bush Camp, at sunrise, a walk meant to explore turned sorrowful when a nursing elephant, accompanied by her calf, charged out of instinct,’ they said.

‘Despite the presence of trained guides, the moment unfolded too swiftly.’

The pair ‘had spent four peaceful days immersed in nature’s embrace. Their journey was meant to continue – but instead, we remember them for their courage, their curiosity, and their love for life’s wild places’, they added.

According to the South Luangwa National Park website, the region’s concentration of animals is one of the densest in all of Africa.

Female elephants are very protective of their calves and can respond aggressively to what they perceive as threats.

Revitalize Thigh Strength After 60: 4 Standing Exercises Better Than Squats

0

These exercises are adaptable and beneficial for individuals at any fitness level.

When it comes to enhancing thigh strength, squats are incredibly efficient. This classic movement engages the glutes, hamstrings (the muscles at the back of your thighs), and quadriceps (the muscles at the front). Besides strengthening these muscles, squats also improve metabolism and enhance joint flexibility. However, if squats aren’t your preferred exercise, there are four alternative standing exercises that you might find more appealing. These alternatives can rejuvenate your thigh strength more rapidly than squats, especially after the age of 60, and they’re simple enough for anyone to perform, regardless of their fitness level.

“After turning 60, muscle loss tends to accelerate due to sarcopenia, which is the age-associated reduction in muscle mass and strength,” shares Karen Ann Canham, CEO and founder of Karen Ann Wellness. She is a Board-Certified Wellness Coach and Nervous System Specialist with nearly 20 years of expertise in wellness and corporate leadership. “Factors such as hormonal changes, decreased physical activity, and alterations in neuromuscular signaling contribute to this decline. Additionally, the body loses fast-twitch muscle fibers, which are crucial for strength and quick movements.”

The thighs contain some of the largest and most important muscles in the body, so weakness in this area can significantly affect your ability to move around efficiently.

Because your thighs house some of the biggest and most essential muscles in the entire body, weakness in this area can majorly impact mobility.

“Declining thigh strength can make everyday movements—like climbing stairs, standing up from a chair, walking long distances, or catching yourself during a loss of balance—much more difficult,” Canham tells us. “Maintaining strong thigh muscles is strongly linked to fall prevention, walking speed, and long-term independence.”

Below, Canham shares four standing exercises that can help restore thigh strength quicker than squats after 60.

Stair Step-Ups

  1. Begin by standing tall, facing a low step. Hold an optional lightweight dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Place your left foot firmly onto the surface, keeping your core engaged and chest tall.
  3. Press through your left heel to lift your body until your left leg is straight and you’re standing on the surface.
  4. Use control to lower back to the start position.
  5. Repeat on the other side.
  6. Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps on each leg.

Reverse Lunges

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-distance apart and arms at your sides, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Step your left foot back a few feet, making sure to land on the ball of your foot.
  3. Lower into a lunge position until your front thigh is parallel to the ground and your back knee hovers just above the floor.
  4. Press through your front heel to rise back up to standing.
  5. Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps on each leg.

Lateral Band Walks

  1. Begin by placing a resistance band around your ankles or thighs.
  2. Slightly bend your knees and step sideways, keeping your movement controlled.
  3. Perform 2 to 3 sets of 10 to 12 steps in each direction.

Supported Split Squats

  1. Start by standing tall holding onto a sturdy chair or wall for support.
  2. Step your left foot forward about 2 to 3 feet to assume a staggered stance.
  3. Bend both knees, lowering the bottom toward the ground.
  4. Press through your front heel to rise back up.
  5. Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps on each leg.

Trump Contemplates De-Escalation: Potential Shift in U.S. Approach to Iran Strikes

0

Donald Trump has announced his contemplation of reducing military actions against Iran, signaling a potential end to the prolonged conflict in the Middle East. This move comes as he advances efforts to dismantle Tehran’s military strength.

In a post shared on Truth Social on Friday evening, the former president expressed, “We are nearing the achievement of our goals as we consider scaling back our significant military engagements in the Middle East, particularly concerning Iran’s terrorist regime.”

Trump outlined a clear strategy with specific objectives: “Firstly, the complete degradation of Iranian missile capabilities and their launch systems. Secondly, the destruction of Iran’s defense industrial base. Finally, the elimination of their naval and air forces, inclusive of anti-aircraft weaponry.”

‘(2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base.

‘(3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry.

‘(4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place.

In his post Friday, Trump added a fifth: ‘Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies’ and listed America’s Gulf partners: Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others.’

He then went on to describe how he sees the future for the Strait of Hormuz – the shipping waterway that is crucial to international trade.

Trump added: ‘The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not!

‘If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated.

‘Importantly, it will be an easy Military Operation for them. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.’

The post seemed at odds with his administration’s move to bolster its firepower in the region and request another $200 billion from Congress to fund the war.

Trump’s post comes as US Central Command shared a dramatic video showed US missile strikes targeting weapons trucks, missile launchers and fighter jets being blown to bits.

‘Iran’s capabilities are declining…’ – Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM Commander tweeted along with the video.

The US is deploying three more amphibious assault ships and roughly 2,500 additional Marines to the Middle East, a US official told The Associated Press.

Two other US officials confirmed that ships were deploying, without saying where they were headed.

All three spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military operations.

The news of the deployment comes just days after the US redirected another group of amphibious assault ships carrying another 2,500 Marines from the Pacific to the Middle East.

The Marines will join more than 50,000 US troops already in the region.

Trump has said he has no plans to send ground forces into Iran but also has asserted that he retains all options.

US and Israeli leaders say weeks of strikes have decimated Iran’s military.

In addition to Iran’s supreme leader, airstrikes have also killed the head of its Supreme National Security Council and a raft of other top-ranking military and political leaders.

General Ali Mohammad Naeini, a spokesman for Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, was quoted by a state-run newspaper Friday saying Iran continues to manufacture missiles despite Israel’s claim that it had destroyed Iran’s production capabilities.

Iranian state television later said that Naeini was killed in an airstrike.

As Israeli airstrikes landed in Tehran, Iran launched more attacks on Israel and energy sites in neighboring Gulf Arab states Friday, and the region marked one of the holiest days on the Muslim calendar.

Iranians were also celebrating the Persian New Year, known as Nowruz, a normally festive holiday.

With little information coming out of Iran, it was not clear how much damage its arms, nuclear or energy facilities have sustained in the punishing US and Israeli strikes that began February 28 — or even who was truly in charge of the country.

But Iran’s attacks are still choking off oil supplies and denting the global economy, raising food and fuel prices far beyond the Middle East.

The US and Israel have offered shifting rationales for the war, from hoping to foment an uprising that topples Iran’s leadership to eliminating its nuclear and missile programs.

There have been no public signs of any such uprising and no end in sight to the war.

So far, 13 American soldiers have died in the conflict.

Shocking Case in Oklahoma: Couple Accused of Exploiting Teen as Surrogate Mother

An Oklahoma pair found themselves in legal trouble this week after being apprehended in Nevada, where they had escaped following the initiation of a child sexual abuse investigation in their home state.

Nathan Potier, 36, faces charges of sexually assaulting a minor in Oklahoma County, while his 36-year-old partner is accused of facilitating child sexual abuse, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Oklahoma court records reveal that Potier and his girlfriend, identified as Erica Ramirez, allegedly exploited a 14-year-old girl as a surrogate, as reported by KFOR. The inquiry began in December when Child Protective Services alerted Oklahoma City authorities that the young girl was pregnant with twins.

According to police, Ramirez confessed her desire for children with her boyfriend but cited an inability to conceive due to having her tubes tied. Before authorities could execute a DNA warrant for Potier, the couple fled the state.

With warrants issued for their arrest, a manhunt ensued. Court documents also indicate that previous allegations of Potier’s sexual abuse of the same girl had surfaced in California, with Palmer reportedly being aware of them.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said that a joint investigation with multiple agencies recived tips that Potier and Palmer may have been hiding in the Reno/Sparks area and located them in Sparks. They were booked into the Washoe County jail on fugitive warrants and are awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.

Investigators did not say how the teen was connected with Palmer and Potier but said she had been placed in foster care.

DOJ Seeks Dismissal of Charges for Former Officers in Breonna Taylor Case: A Controversial Legal Move

The Department of Justice has requested that a federal judge drop charges against two former officers involved in the Louisville incident that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor.

Breonna Taylor, an African American woman, was fatally shot by Louisville police officers during the execution of a warrant at her apartment in March 2020.

In August 2022, the DOJ charged officers Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany, accusing them of using excessive force, fabricating information to justify the search of Taylor’s home, and attempting to conceal their actions. Both officers were subsequently dismissed from their positions following these allegations.

Taylor’s death, followed closely by the killing of George Floyd, an African American man in Minneapolis, sparked a wave of national protests and widespread condemnation of systemic police brutality.

In previous court documents, Jaynes and Meany contended that they were not present at the raid that led to Taylor’s death. The motion for dismissal, penned by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon and Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General Robert Keenan, highlighted that the court had already reduced several of the charges against the officers.

The DOJ made similar moves last May to drop a lawsuit accusing the Louisville Police Department of unconstitutional policing practices. They also requested a one-day sentence for another Louisville officer convicted in connection with Taylor’s death last July.

“In light of the foregoing proceedings, the Government undertook a further review of this matter. Based on that review, and in the exercise of its discretion, the Government has determined that this case should be dismissed in the interest of justice,” Dhillon and Keenan wrote in the dismissal.

Meany’s attorney, Michael Denbow, told the Courier Journal on Friday that Meany is “incredibly grateful for today’s filing” and was “looking forward to putting this matter behind him and moving on with his life.”

Jayne’s lawyer, Thomas Clay, affirmed to the Courier Journal that Jaynes “did absolutely nothing wrong.”

“The Department of Justice’s request is not only callous but deeply disrespectful to the memory of Breonna Taylor and to her family, who have waited six long years for justice,” the NAACP’s Louisville Branch said in a statement.  “This action sends a troubling message and risks undermining public trust in our justice system.”

Unveiling the Hidden Battle: Chadwick Boseman’s Secret Cancer Remission During ‘Black Panther’ Triumph

During the peak of Black Panther fever, Chadwick Boseman and those closest to him were celebrating a deeply personal triumph.

Simone Ledward-Boseman, in a heartfelt interview on Today, shared insights into the events of 2018 when the Marvel sensation captured the world’s attention. Behind the scenes, however, a very different story was unfolding.

In a conversation with Craig Melvin on Friday, March 20, Simone candidly discussed her late husband’s battle with colon cancer, a fight that began in 2016 and was kept away from the public eye.

“It was a beautiful year,” Simone reminisced about 2018, even as tears welled up. “Talking about the good times is often more challenging than the bad.”

While global audiences were captivated by Boseman’s iconic portrayal of T’Challa, Simone recalls that time as one of immense happiness and quiet solace. The couple, who would marry in 2020, embraced the film’s overwhelming success while cherishing this private victory together.

“Yeah, Panther came out in February, to see how deeply, deeply and globally impactful that film was, I just don’t have any words for it,” the emotional widow shared. “He was just so deserving of all the success and kids were dressing up like him and people are buying out theaters and taking school kids to watch this film, and he’s just being celebrated everywhere we go.”

“It did feel like, you know, they didn’t know we were celebrating that he had a clear scan, but we were celebrating that too. It felt like we got another chance,” Simone continued.

That sense of hope, however, would be short-lived. Boseman’s cancer returned in 2019, and he died in August 2020 at the age of 43. Throughout his illness, the actor chose not to publicly disclose his diagnosis.

Looking back on those early days, Simone said she and Boseman initially felt optimistic about his prognosis.

“I think when he was initially diagnosed, we both felt very sure that he would make it through,” Simone recalled. “It was gonna be a challenging moment, but something that he would come out on the other side of and be fine.”

She added that her husband was “of course” scared at the time — but ultimately determined not to let his illness define him or slow him down.

That decision to keep his diagnosis private, Simone explained, was entirely intentional.

“What’s more important about Chad is the way that he lived,” Simone explained. “The fact that he wouldn’t let cancer get in the way of what he was here to do, let that be the lesson.”

As for where she is now in her grief, Simone offered a candid reflection on how loss evolves over time.

“You know, the edges get less sharp, I think, is the best way to put it. There are still edges.”

Over the course of his career, Boseman brought a string of real-life icons to the screen — including Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall — while also leaving an indelible mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He later earned a posthumous Oscar nomination for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, cementing a legacy that continues to resonate both on and off screen.
