Cricket Legend David Warner Faces Allegations of Drink Driving: Latest Developments Unveiled

0

David Warner, the former Australian Test cricketer, is facing charges of drink driving in Sydney, casting a shadow over his illustrious sports career.

According to police reports, the incident unfolded on Malabar Road in Maroubra, a suburb in Sydney’s east. Around 5:30 PM on Sunday, Warner, aged 39, was allegedly spotted stopping his van just before reaching a random breath testing location.

When officers approached, they conducted a breathalyzer test, which reportedly indicated a positive result for alcohol. Following this, Warner was taken into custody and transported to the Maroubra police station for further examination.

At the station, a secondary test was administered, and it allegedly confirmed an alcohol reading of 0.104, surpassing the legal limit. These developments have brought Warner back into the public eye, albeit for reasons beyond his cricketing prowess.

Warner allegedly returned another positive reading of 0.104.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on May 7.

The hitmaker, 33, took to Instagram on Monday to share the happy news with a snap of him and his bride celebrating after saying ‘I do’, as he declared in the caption: ‘WE’RE MARRIED!!!’

Conor stood out on his special day in a striking mustard yellow double-breasted suit, paired with a casual open-collared white shirt.

Anna’s boyfriend Harry Clark was also in attendance with Jack sharing a group shot with The Traitors champion and several other male pals getting ready for the ceremony with Conor, clad in matching dressing gowns and sipping on champagne.

Other confirmed guests at the nuptials were Masters of The Air actor Jon James Ewart and songwriter Brendan Buckley, who has penned a number of Conor’s tracks, including Something To Me, Maybe I, Cherry On Top and Bad Feeling.

After becoming husband and wife, the newly-wedded couple jetted off on their honeymoon to Reykjavik, Iceland.

Conor took to his Stories to share a video of Kitty walking around their lavish accommodation and showing off the stunning views, as he wrote: ‘And the honeymoon commences’.

He revealed he’d popped the question six months ago in a birthday post to Kitty, showing her proudly flaunting her sparkling ring as he gushed: ‘Happy Birthday to my FIANCÉE. I’m ready to take on forever with you.’

The couple purchased their first home together in March last year and then in June, adopted an adorable Bernedoodle puppy named Bernard.

Their wedding comes as the singer continues to be locked into a blistering paternity row with The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton, over her daughter Penelope.

Two paternity tests have found that Conor is not the father, while Charlotte, 34, has staunchly insisted he is the dad and the test results were incorrect.

The reality star publicly alleged in June 2024 that he was the father of her unborn ‘miracle’ baby, having fallen pregnant as a result of a one-night stand, after the pair were introduced by Harry at The Traitors wrap party.

After the birth in October 2024, she claimed the Can’t Say No star refused to acknowledge her baby daughter Penelope as his own.

A paternity test found Conor was not the dad, but Charlotte claimed an ‘unidentified male was present’ when his DNA sample was collected.

The mother-of-one also alleged Conor ‘switched testing locations last minute’ and that her own DNA was not taken.

The pair then took a second test, which proved once and for all that Conor did not father Charlotte’s daughter – which was then followed up by a statement from her.

Her rep told Daily Mail at the time: ‘For those of you who have followed Charlotte’s journey since her appearance on BBC’s The Traitors, will know she has fought an extraordinary battle for truth and justice with heartfelt conviction.

‘We are forever grateful to everyone who has shown unwavering love and support to Charlotte over the past 12 months.

‘Special thanks must also go to Charlotte’s rockstar legal advisors, Lorna McCammon (SFR Law) and Paul Lunt (Brabners) for their invaluable counsel and guidance. We could not have done this without you.

‘Charlotte will now take time to process, heal and reflect and when she is ready, she will finally share her story in full.’

Meanwhile, Conor took to social media to share his own statement, penning: ‘Today I received the results of a second paternity test, which was requested by Charlotte regarding her baby girl, Penelope.

‘As with the last test, this test has confirmed again that I am not Penelope’s father.

‘As Charlotte requested, Penelope’s, Charlotte’s and my DNA were all taken at a Ministry of Justice accredited DNA testing facility that was selected by Charlotte. The results are therefore conclusive.

‘This has been difficult for me and my family, and I’m so grateful for everyone’s support. I’m glad we can now finally draw a line under this.’

Yet the pair continued to go back and forth on social media, with Conor making a number of sly swipes at Charlotte, including singing along to Michael Jackson‘s 1983 hit Billie Jean – which includes the lyric ‘The kid is not my son’.

While Charlotte said a rare medical condition may explain why the DNA results showed Conor wasn’t the father, while she was still convinced he was.

In an interview with The Sun she said: ‘I have researched and researched trying to find the answers because I know for a fact that the only person who can be my daughter’s father is Conor.

‘And finally, after speaking to experts, I have found out that what might have happened is I could have been carrying twins but lost one very early.

‘Then strange genetics come into play, which means that twin could have taken certain DNA so her father could never show up on a paternity test. It is something called chimerism.’

Then came another surprising twist when Conor shared a message online in which he claimed to reveal who the real father of Charlotte's baby was – none other than her Traitors co-star and close friend, former soldier Jonny Holloway (seen)

Then came another surprising twist when Conor shared a message online in which he claimed to reveal who the real father of Charlotte’s baby was – none other than her Traitors co-star and close friend, former soldier Jonny Holloway (seen)

Chimerism is a condition where an organism is composed of cells from different genetic origins, meaning it has two distinct sets of DNA.

It can occur through natural processes like a twin pregnancy, where two fertilised eggs fuse.

Charlotte added that having twins runs in her family, and that it makes sense to her that Penelope could have been a twin.

Then came another surprising twist when Conor shared a message online in which he claimed to reveal who the real father of Charlotte’s baby was – none other than her Traitors co-star and close friend, former soldier Jonny Holloway.

The former soldier, 33, told Daily Mail in an exclusive interview in November 2025 that he and Charlotte had sexual relations and he has asked for a DNA test. She denies sleeping with Jonny.

However, Jonny later admitted he wasn’t able to ‘perform’ on the night they slept together due to an excessive amount of drinking.

At first, he publicly dodged the question of whether he could possibly be Penelope’s father, wanting to sort the situation out privately for the little girl’s sake.

Jonny has asked Charlotte for a DNA test – but she then changed her mind and refused to discuss the subject properly with him.

He said the reason he has demanded a DNA test was to simply take his name out of the paternity row and prove he isn’t the father – insisting the dates Penelope was born, doesn’t add up to the night they had sexual relations.

The paternity drama has since cooled off in recent months, after Charlotte vowed to take a step back from social media as she battles trigeminal neuralgia

The paternity drama has since cooled off in recent months, after Charlotte vowed to take a step back from social media as she battles trigeminal neuralgia

‘If I was the father I would step up and take that child as my own,’ he told the Daily Mail emotionally. ‘Relations took place on a drunken night out. I was heavily intoxicated at the time. I’ve asked for a DNA test several times but have been ignored.

‘I’m a man of values and standards, I come from a military background. I pride myself on having respect and being a good dad to my children.’

The paternity drama has since cooled off in recent months, after Charlotte vowed to take a step back from social media as she battles trigeminal neuralgia.

In December, she underwent brain surgery after being rushed to A&E following a ‘huge’ trigeminal neuralgia attack.

Trigeminal neuralgia is sudden, severe facial pain. It’s often described as a sharp shooting pain or like having an electric shock in the jaw, teeth or gums.

People with the condition may experience attacks of pain regularly for days, weeks or months at a time. In severe cases attacks may happen hundreds of times a day.

Charlotte has previously opened up about her battle with the agonising pain disorder and told how she had brain surgery in her twenties – but suffered a recent severe flare up last year.

She wrote in a post how she was left in ‘physical torture’ due to her symptoms and heartbreakingly wrote: ‘they call this the suicide disease for a reason.’

Inside the Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll Divorce Drama: Unveiling the Truth Behind the Headlines

0

The private challenges faced by Rory McIlroy’s wife, Erica Stoll, are brought to light in a new, revealing biography about the acclaimed golfer’s life.

Renowned author Alan Shipnuck, in his book “Rory: The Heartache and Triumph of Golf’s Most Human Superstar,” delves into how Stoll was labeled a “neo-Elin,” drawing a parallel to Elin Nordegren, the ex-wife of Tiger Woods, who famously admitted to infidelity during his ascent in professional golf.

Though such allegations have never been directed at McIlroy, the couple faced a near separation in May 2024, fueled by rumors of McIlroy’s connection with golf journalist Amanda Balionis.

This period of turmoil led Erica to retreat from public life, opting to avoid interviews and forgo accompanying McIlroy on tours, choosing instead to focus on their daughter, Poppy, according to the book.

The Daily Mail initially reported the alleged association between McIlroy and Balionis. Shipnuck’s book notes that while insiders assert there was no romantic involvement, the topic dominated inquiries during his research, with most questions centering on the rumored pair.

The Daily Mail report about McIlroy claimed that his friendship with Balionis had become the ‘talk of the links’.

McIlroy’s move came amid intensifying rumors about his relationship with Amanda Balionis

In an interview between the pair in May 2024, after he won the Wells Fargo Championship in Quail Hollow, North Carolina, they were both laughing and flirting with each other.

Balionis asked McIlroy to explain ‘physically how good your game feels’. And McIlroy told Balionis that at the moment ‘it feels like the stars are aligning.’

The next day, it emerged McIIroy wanted a divorce. He and Erica had been together for seven years when McIlroy shocked the golfing world by filing for the split in Palm Beach County, Florida, saying his marriage was ‘irretrievably broken’.

But just one month later the pair announced they had decided to stay together.

In a statement at the time, McIlroy said that ‘Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together’.

McIlroy later called the episode a ‘wake-up call’.

Shipnuck draws parallels between McIlroy and Woods, whose multiple affairs were exposed in 2009 after he crashed his car into a fire hydrant outside his home during Thanksgiving weekend.

Nordegren divorced him as the former World No.1’s reputation dramatically unraveled. Almost 20 years on, in rehab in Switzerland after his latest car crash, the fight to rebuild his name is ongoing for Woods.

As for McIlroy, Shipnuck writes: ‘It didn’t help that Erica had become a neo-Elin Woods, never doing any interviews and remaining unknown to the golf public’.

While McIlroy would, for the most part, talk openly to the press and enjoyed chatting with other golfers, Stoll would often remain at home with Poppy and not come on the tours.

‘That there were rumors about McIlroy’s love life wasn’t totally surprising given his ribald streak’, Shipnuck writes.

That included trips to Ibiza with his guy friends and once joking on a podcast that he would most like to trade places with a famous stallion called Galileo.

According to his close friend Shane Lowry, 2023 was a ‘tough spot’ for McIlroy and golf was a refuge for him – until the divorce filing.

In the book, victorious Europe Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley says: ‘It can’t be easy being Rory’s wife. I’m sure it’s not easy for her because she’s quiet by nature’.

In an extraordinary statement, McGinley then added: ‘Caroline Harrington (Padraig Harrington’s wife) would have been perfect as Rory’s wife.

‘She (Caroline) loves Padraig being a professional golfer more than Padraig loves being a professional golfer.

Paul McGinley, a long-time friend of McIlroy, also waded in on his life away from golf

Paul McGinley, a long-time friend of McIlroy, also waded in on his life away from golf

‘But Erica is quiet and she kind of keeps her thoughts to herself. She’s had to find where she fits in and where she doesn’t.’

McGinley said that while McIlroy is a ‘superstar’ and has a ‘big personality’, Stoll was not like that at all.

Still, Shipnuck does offer a withering verdict on McIlroy’s brief separation from his wife.

He writes: ‘The short-lived divorce proceedings and hasty reconciliation said more about him than her.

‘If you are an internationally famous athlete heading toward becoming a billionaire, it is probably unwise to file for divorce unless you are one million percent certain there is zero chance to save the marriage.

‘But McIlroy’s life has been defined by impetuousness, on the golf course and in matters of business and romance.

‘The recklessness is part of what makes him appealing’.

In the book golfer Lee Westwood puts it more bluntly and calls McIlroy a ‘f***ing drama queen’.

Sordid rumors surround McIlroy and a weekend in 2012 when he was still with Wozniacki

Sordid rumors surround McIlroy and a weekend in 2012 when he was still with Wozniacki

McIlroy and Stoll had married in 2017 in a star-studded ceremony at Ashford Castle in County Mayo, Ireland where guests included Stevie Wonder.

Stoll had been working for the PGA of America when she met McIlroy in 2012 at the Ryder Cup, where she got him a police escort to his tee because he was late.

The story pumped out to the media that week surrounded a confusion over time zones and tee times, but the whispers among staffers was something altogether more salacious.

‘He was throwing every ounce of game he had at Erica’, one employee told Shipnuck in the book. ‘It was not subtle. It became a running joke among a few of us: Has Rory closed the deal yet?’

There is no proof that McIlroy was unfaithful to Wozniacki that weekend, but group chats between staffers were full of ‘winking emojis’ and brazen comments about the ‘smitten’ golfing superstar.

McIlroy later got engaged to tennis star Wozniacki, on New Year’s Eve in 2013, before they broke off their relationship before the wedding, and McIlroy started officially dating Stoll a few months later.

They initially kept their love life a secret, eventually going public in 2015.

This week, for the first time in his storied career, McIlroy arrives at Augusta National as a champion instead of facing an endless stream of questions asking if this is the year he conquers his Masters demons.

Erica and Poppy will almost certainly join him for the traditional par-three contest on the Wednesday, under the glare of the world’s sporting media.

But from there, once the tournament begins, she will most likely return to the background, where she’s most comfortable.

A school bus driver in Sumter County, Florida, is now facing numerous felony charges after allegedly endangering the safety of several students, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred on April 2 when Yvonne Hampton, 67, was driving a school bus that was struck at the rear by a passing train, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At the time of the accident, there were 29 students on the bus.

Kanye West Seeks Dialogue with UK Jewish Community Amid Wireless Festival Controversy

LONDON – The controversy surrounding Ye, previously known as Kanye West, continues to escalate as a prominent British government official declared on Tuesday that the rapper should “absolutely not” perform at the upcoming Wireless Festival. This statement comes amid Ye’s recent attempts to reach out to the U.K.’s Jewish community, hoping to demonstrate a change from his past controversial actions and antisemitic comments.

Scheduled to take the stage in front of an estimated crowd of 150,000 over the span of three nights from July 10-12, Ye’s anticipated performance at London’s Finsbury Park has sparked significant backlash. The festival’s organizers are currently facing growing demands from both sponsors and politicians to cancel his appearances, given his history of offensive statements, including expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler.

In a move that further fueled the outrage, Ye released a song titled “Heil Hitler” last year and marketed a T-shirt featuring a swastika on his website. In an effort to make amends, the 48-year-old issued an apology this January through a full-page letter in the Wall Street Journal. He attributed his previous actions to a “four-month long, manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior” linked to his bipolar disorder, which he claims significantly impacted his life.

The fallout from his past controversies has already led to major sponsors such as Pepsi, Rockstar Energy, and Diageo withdrawing their support from the festival following the announcement of Ye as the headliner. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also voiced his concerns, describing the decision to book Ye as “deeply concerning.”

Wireless sponsors Pepsi, Rockstar Energy and Diageo have pulled out of the festival since Ye was announced as the headliner, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the booking “deeply concerning.”

In a statement Tuesday, Ye said he “would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Jewish community in the U.K. in person, to listen.

“I know words aren’t enough — I’ll have to show change through my actions,” he said. “If you’re open, I’m here.”

Organizer Festival Republic stood by Ye. In a statement issued Monday, managing director Melvin Benn urged people to offer the performer “forgiveness and hope.”

“We are not giving him a platform to extol opinion of whatever nature, only to perform the songs that are currently played on the radio stations in our country and the streaming platforms in our country and listened to and enjoyed by millions,” the statement said.

U.K. Health Secretary Wes Streeting dismissed the organizers’ statement as “absurd” and said Ye should “absolutely not” perform at Wireless. He said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is considering whether to ban the rapper from entering the U.K.

Benn acknowledged that Mahmood had the power to revoke Ye’s visa to come to Britain.

“If she does, she does, and then the issue is over,” he told the BBC on Tuesday.

A representative for Ye didn’t reply to a request for comment.

Truckers Take a Stand: Major Highway Shutdowns in Response to Rampant Robberies and Extortion

Passenger Vehicles Navigate Around Parked Trucks South of Juarez

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – In a bold protest against rampant highway robberies and alleged extortion at checkpoints, Mexican truck drivers have taken to blocking key routes leading to the U.S. border.

On Monday, just before midday, a line of semis obstructed the Pan American Highway south of Juarez. While commercial trucks and passenger buses were the primary targets, personal vehicles were allowed to carefully maneuver around the blockade.

David Ortiz, vice president of the National Transport Operators Association, the group behind the protest, expressed their demands: “We seek an end to the violence, as well as the deaths and disappearances of truck drivers. We have experienced up to 200 operators going missing, and the government remains inactive.”

The protest extended to other regions, with association members also blocking parts of the highway near Chihuahua City, Camargo, Parral, and Villa Ahumada.

Ortiz said the blockade 20 miles south of Juarez would continue until the Mexican government meets with truckers’ leaders in good faith. He said no disruptions were planned at international bridges linking Juarez and El Paso, Texas.

“We need a trust fund. We need to protect the widows, the (relatives) who were left unprotected. We need that support and, above all, that the government improves safety on highways,” Ortiz said.

Trucker Jaime Gomez Gonzalez said he wants the Mexican government also to do something about rising gasoline and diesel prices and the “bad roads” that cause unnecessary wear on their vehicles.

Ortiz said one of the trucks in his fleet was hijacked recently and that it took a week for his driver to get Mexican authorities to start a search.

The association first aired its complaints last year and the Claudia Sheinbaum administration formed a working group of truckers and government officials to look into the issue. But Ortiz said the officials “just wanted to take a picture” and did not provide solutions to the truckers.

Mother Accused of Concealing Lethal Painkillers in Son’s Smoothie, Jury Hears

0
A mother gave her adult son a lethal smoothie following disputes over money and the family’s intolerable living situation, a jury has been told.
Maree Mavis Crabtree has been accused of killing her 26-year-old son, Jonathan, with an overdose of painkillers on July 19, 2017, in the family’s home north of the Gold Coast before making a $125,000 insurance claim.

A 59-year-old woman is facing serious allegations, including the attempted murder of her son earlier that same year.

Maree Crabtree, pictured here leaving the Supreme Court in Brisbane on February 7, 2024, has been accused of killing her 26-year-old son Jonathan with an overdose of painkillers on July 19, 2017 (AAP)

The woman, Crabtree, has firmly denied all charges, which include murder, attempted murder, and fraud, as her trial commenced today at Brisbane Supreme Court.

Describing the scene to the jury, Crown prosecutor Caroline Marco revealed that paramedics discovered Crabtree’s son deceased at 9:55 a.m., lying on his bed with his legs dangling toward the floor, a Spider-Man backpack at his feet.

Marco explained, “A pathologist concluded that the cause of his sudden and unexpected death was an excessively high level of oxycodone in his bloodstream.”

Authorities noted that no traces of the prescription painkiller or its packaging were found in the son’s room, nor among the medications contained in his Spider-Man backpack.

“The Crown will prove it was his mother who killed him by deliberately giving him a drink in the form of a shake that she prepared with a blender in the kitchen of their home that contained the oxycodone that killed him,” Marco said.

The jury was told they would hear from Crabtree’s daughter Tara, who would testify that she helped her mother by keeping a lookout as she prepared the drink and of later hearing the son struggling and coughing throughout the night.

“Tara will tell you the next morning her mother told her Jonathan was dead but it was four hours later that (Crabtree) called Triple Zero,” Marco said.

“Tara says that was not the first time that her mother had given a drink to Jonathan containing oxycodone with the intent of ending his life.”

Jonathan was a “troubled man” with abusive behaviours who used drugs and had been charged with robbing a chemist, the jury heard.

A car crash in 2015 had left him with permanent injuries that meant he required physical care.

Crabtree lived in the Maudsland home that was jointly owned by her two children.

Crabtree found her living situation with her son “no longer tolerable” but she did not have the money to buy out his stake of the house, the jury heard. (AAP)

“She told Tara that Jonathan’s involvement in the robbery had put the family’s finances in jeopardy, which was the reason why she needed to kill him,” Marco said.

Crabtree found her living situation with her son “no longer tolerable” but she did not have the money to buy out his stake of the house, the jury heard.

Investigators found numerous bottles of liquid oxycodone in the family’s home and a smoothie blender that tested positive for drugs, Marco said.

Defence barrister Angus Edwards was expected to make an opening statement.

The trial is due to run for five weeks before Justice Martin Burns and hear from 60 witnesses.
