Further, a police unit spotted the car on St Georges Rd yesterday at about 4:30 p.m., according to a police spokesperson. The police turned but had lost sight of the vehicle.

The officer then drove down St. Georges Road and came across the fatal crash, which occurred in the fine pre-dusk conditions on a bend between Havelock Rd and Te Aute Rd. The spokesperson stated that no pursuit had taken place.
