On TikTok, Lean is actually a recreational drug beverage that originated in Houston, Texas.

As per Wikipedia, Lean aka purple drank, purp, or oil refers to the users having difficulty in standing straight up. It is made by mixing prescribed cough syrup and a soft drink or soda.

The purple drank is famous among hip-hop artists and US southerners. It intoxicates the users and has other names like Sizzurp, purple jelly, wok, Texas tea, dirty sprite, and many more.

You can add hard candies like Jolly Ranchers or other sweetening items to the drink to add flavor. However, as with a martini, masking the undesirable flavor may lead to overconsumption.

Lean causes euphoria, lethargy, drowsiness, motor-skill impairment, and other side effects. It is also harmful to one’s health because it can cause respiratory depression and is highly addictive.

Furthermore, purple drank is suspected of being the cause of the deaths of some prominent users. However, the majority of overdoses result in cardiac or respiratory arrest.

According to Urban Dictionary, Lean is a mixture of Jolly Ranchers, sprite, and codeine that will get you high.

By mixing those ingredients, you can get a purple drink which is known as lean. It contains active ingredients like codeine and promethazine.

Codeine acts as a euphoria-causing agent whilst promethazine causes lethargy, drowsiness, motor skill impairment.

TikTok trend, Lean was originated from the username of @peeaspoo.

The user uploaded a short video of Naruto dancing to hip-hop music. He’s also included the text Ultra Lean Instinct as a header and I Love Lean!!! as a footer.

In just 5 days, the video has received 150.8K views and 25.6K likes. Following that video, other users posted the same meme, which has gone viral on TikTok.

To follow the lean trend, simply add some text to your video mentioning the term “lean.”
