Shocking Attack on CBS Chicago Crew Near Adler Planetarium Sparks Safety Concerns

0

CBS Chicago reports that after a police chase, authorities apprehended three individuals in connection to the incident.

CHICAGO (WLS) — A news team from CBS2 Chicago, about to broadcast live from Solidarity Drive, was accosted by a menacing group who allegedly tried to sic a dog on them while hurling racial insults, as per the station and police statements.

Authorities reported that several men exited a white truck and aimed a dog at the reporter and cameraman as they were setting up for their 4 p.m. segment on Monday, all while shouting racial epithets.

The police stated that when the dog failed to attack, one assailant, in frustration, hurled the crew’s camera equipment to the ground, while another smashed the CBS2 Chicago live truck’s windshield.

By Monday evening, the live truck was still parked on Solidarity Drive with its windshield in pieces. The camera and tripod intended for the broadcast were left nearby, cordoned off by police tape.

The news photographer and reporter were not injured.

Chicago police were not confirming arrests, but according to CBS Chicago, three people were arrested in Brighton Park in connection with the incident, apparently after a police pursuit.

CBS2 Chicago addressed the incident in a statement Monday night, saying, “We are shocked and horrified by this crime and we are grateful that our journalists are safe.”

Liam Greentree Shares His Calm Approach to High Expectations as a Rangers Prospect

0

Liam Greentree achieved a significant milestone on Monday, marking the beginning of the Rangers’ prospect development camp at their state-of-the-art facility in suburban Westchester.

After being included in the high-profile trade that sent Artemi Panarin to Los Angeles earlier this year, Greentree finally donned the iconic Ranger crest for the first time.

Having previously been part of the OHL, Greentree was traded during the blockbuster February deal involving Panarin. This week’s camp provides a critical opportunity for the Rangers’ management to evaluate in person the key player acquired in that exchange.

“It’s been incredible. Playing for New York, a team steeped in history, is a dream come true,” Greentree shared after his inaugural day on the ice at the MSG Training Center. “Being part of an Original Six franchise is really special. Wearing the jersey for the first time is truly an amazing feeling.”

Expectations are already mounting among the Rangers’ fanbase as the development camp kicks off, especially after Greentree impressed last season with 74 points—comprising 38 goals and 36 assists—over 52 games with the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires.

He’s had three consecutive seasons of at least 74 points in the OHL.

And in February following the Panarin trade, Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury told reporters that he valued Greentree “higher than a ’26 or ’27 first-round pick.”

Couple all of that with the fact that the winger will be turning pro this upcoming season, it could make any young hockey player feel overwhelmed, but the expectations don’t seem to have bothered Greentree one bit.

“It’s the business of it, and I’ve yet to play an NHL game,” he said in response to a question about feeling any extra pressure. “I’m going through the process of it and trying to make my career a good one. There’s a whole process to these things, so I’m trusting everyone around me.

“I want to play my game and be a Ranger one day.”

Greentree described his game as that of a “big power forward” who can do a little bit of everything, and at 6-foot-2, 207 pounds, it’s easy to see why he would view himself in that way.

Greentree, who was taken by the Kings 26th overall in 2024, is expected to start his professional career in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack, but it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for him to see playing time with the big club at some point.

In preparation for the jump to the pros, Greentree has been working on his skating, pointing to the “different speed” of the NHL as the biggest factor in the jump from junior hockey.

One person who knows what the Rangers potentially have in Greentree is fellow prospect Nathan Aspinall, who has known Greentree since they were 6.

The two have been skating together in the summer.

“I think just his playmaking, goal scoring,” Aspinall said about Greentree’s most exciting attributes. “I think just when he gets the puck on his stick, he’s dangerous everywhere, so that’s something. He’s an amazing player.”

Greentree isn’t the only prospect with eyes on him during the Rangers camp this week.

First-round pick Alberts Smits took the ice for his first time after a whirlwind weekend in Buffalo after he was taken by the Blueshirts fifth overall on Friday night.

Smits didn’t go into too much on his first day as he looks to make his own mark with the Rangers.

He kept it close to the vest when he was asked if he would be at training camp in September — “We’ll see how it goes” — and he said he was “focused on getting to know the organization” when asked about conversations with the team about his development and path forward.

Greentree expanded a bit more about what he hopes to take out of development camp.

“I’m here to get better and to learn a lot,” he said. “Try to see what it takes to make it to the next level. It’s about taking everything in here and taking it to the offseason and really having a good offseason.”

Tragedy Strikes as Gun Violence Surges in Chicago: 3 Dead, 15 Injured Just Days Post New Initiative

DCLM Daily Manna 30 June 2026 — Large Heartedness

DCLM Daily Manna 30 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Large Heartedness

TOPIC: Large Heartedness (DCLM Daily Manna 30 June 2026)

KEY VERSE: And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness – 2 Samuel 3:39

TEXT: 2 Samuel 3:31-39 (KJV)

31 And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

32 And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

33 And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth?

34 Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

36 And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

37 For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

38 And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

39 And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the Lord shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

In 1918 when racism was very rife in America, in the back woods of Mississippi was Lawrence Jones, a Negro teacher and preacher. He was about to be lynched by an excited mob. He was thought to have been inciting other Negroes to rebellion. As he stood on the heap of faggots about to be hanged and burnt, he was given the privilege of speech. His speech so swayed the mob that they started there and then to raise funds for his project, Piney Woods Country School. Asked thereafter how he felt about the people who dragged him out to be killed, he replied, “I have no time to quarrel… no man can force me to stoop low enough to hate him.” He had a great mind.

David was also a man of a great mind. His reaction to the murder of Abner by Joab and the dirge he composed on that occasion bore testimony to his innocence. Beyond that, he was too preoccupied with weightier issues to harbour resentment. The late Abner was at the head of the rebellion against David’s kingship and had single-handedly installed Ishbosheth as king over Israel. He had just fallen out with Ishbosheth and made reconciliatory overtures to David with a promise of helping to extend David’s rule over all Israel. Joab, the captain of David’s army, would not countenance such a move – the same Abner had earlier killed his brother. He sought to get even by murdering Abner in cold blood. This brought genuine grief to David, who perhaps for the powerful influence of the sons of Zeruiah, could not punish Joab for this evil. He could only place a curse on them indirectly.

The large-heartedness displayed by David here was not an isolated case. He did that at the death of Saul and Jonathan, Ishbosheth and Absalom, some of whom were after his life.

It is betoken of a Christian to have such a great mind, too occupied with nobler concerns than to harbour bitterness, resentment, grudge, retaliatory thoughts and hatred. Be like Stephen and our Lord, who interceded for their assailants

Heartbreaking Details Emerge: Mother’s Last Moments Before Tragic Sisters’ Stabbing

0

A tragic and chilling scene unfolded in the heart of Del Rio, Texas, as a mother of five found herself locked in a desperate struggle to survive. Allegedly surrounded and repeatedly stabbed in broad daylight by two sisters and their friend, her fight for life gripped the community’s attention.

The victim, Caroline ‘Caro’ Peña, aged 32, succumbed to her severe injuries on Thursday evening. The brutal assault, carried out with alarming ferocity, occurred just after 2 PM, leaving the town reeling from the tragedy.

Zelina Ochoa, a close friend of Peña, has been speaking out about the harrowing incident, describing her friend’s final moments as a heart-wrenching battle for survival, highlighting the senselessness of the attack.

In a bustling intersection of Del Rio, stunned witnesses found themselves spectators to the horrifying act of violence. The savage attack unfolded before their eyes, leaving a deep scar on the community’s collective memory.

Authorities swiftly arrested Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, her sister Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, and their friend Kyandra Renee Faz, 21. These young women now face serious charges, each accused of murder in connection with Peña’s untimely death. The arrests took place in Del Rio, located roughly two hours from San Antonio, marking a pivotal moment in the unfolding judicial process.

The three women are being held on a combined $15 million bond while the case proceeds.

The motive for the grisly attack remains unclear, but Peña’s family and friends are demanding justice for their loved one.

Peña’s longtime friend, Ochoa, says one haunting image from the attack has become impossible to forget.

According to Ochoa, a photograph taken while the stabbing unfolded appeared on a local Facebook page before later being removed.

She said seeing the image was the first indication that something had gone terribly wrong.

‘It’s a photo of her standing up and you see the back side of her, and her shirt in the back is completely filled with blood,’ Ochoa told the New York Post.

She said the image showed the three women standing in front of Peña.

‘The three girls are in front of her – they’re surrounding her,’ Ochoa explained.

Ochoa says the photograph captured what she believes were Peña’s final attempts to survive.

‘She had just collapsed and she stood right back up,’ she said. ‘She was a fighter.’

Ochoa said the image was especially difficult to process because she believes it illustrated the imbalance between the alleged attackers and the victim.

‘It’s a very powerful picture because it shows, you know, these three girls showed up with their weapons and Caro showed up with nothing but her hands,’ she said.

Peña¿s devastated friend said she would drop anything to help others, even when she had five kids of her own to take care of

‘She didn’t show up there thinking that today is my last day.’

Peña was initially taken to a local hospital before being transferred to a hospital in San Antonio, where she later died from her injuries at about 9pm on Thursday.

Ochoa, who said she has known Peña since they were both teenage mothers, said the photograph remained online for several hours before it was deleted after news spread that she had died.

During that time, she said numerous people claiming to have witnessed the attack posted comments describing what they had seen.

The alleged stabbing unfolded at a busy intersection near a Sonic restaurant, an area Ochoa said is rarely quiet during the day.

‘Where this incident occurred, it’s a very busy intersection. It’s on the main street of our town, so there were a lot of passersby,’ she said.

‘This wasn’t something that was done in an alley at 12am – this was done in broad daylight on the busiest intersection.’

Based on comments from people who identified themselves as witnesses, Ochoa said the violence appeared to begin almost instantly.

‘There was really no verbal altercation,’ she recalled reading before adding, ‘it went from 0 to 100 very quickly.’

‘It confused a lot of people because it happened so quick and everybody was like, “Wait, hold on, what did we just witness?”‘

The Diaz sisters were seen on camera being handcuffed and being walked into police patrol cars, but as they did so, they smirked and made sure to glance at the camera.

Police have not announced what they believe prompted the fatal confrontation but The Post reports Faz told police that Pena had ‘arrived at her residence looking to start a fight.’

Investigators say there is surveillance footage that shows Peña’s black Dodge pickup truck driving up to Faz’s house. The Diaz sisters then showed up shortly after.

Ochoa said those who knew Peña are still searching for answers.

‘Caro was not the type to go to the clubs or be involved in any type of altercation or drama or anything like that – that’s just not who she was,’ she said.

‘She was that one friend that tried to bring peace among everyone, so it’s just so confusing how this even happened.’

‘I don’t know if it was just an unlucky day and she happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time – I really don’t know.’

Peña’s five children, who range in age from 17 to three years old are now without a mother.

Ochoa said she struggles to understand why another mother would act like this.

‘It’s very unclear as to why a mother would do this to another mother and why she herself wouldn’t consider her own son,’ she said, referring to Kitty Diaz.

‘She’s still gonna see her son grow up through the glass and Caro’s kids are only gonna have a tombstone.’

A GoFundMe has been set up to help support Peña’s children, two of whom are described in the fundraiser as autistic.

Ochoa said no amount of financial support, or even a criminal conviction, will erase the loss suffered by the family Peña leaves behind.

‘She was one of those people that were born to be a mom…she made it look so easy,’ Ochoa said.

‘Everyone says your kids love you, but her kids really love her. She wasn’t just their mom – she was their friend… her life was her children.’

The police have asked anyone with knowledge of the confrontation to come forward with information. The investigation remains ongoing.

Revitalize Your Core After 50 with These 6 Effective Standing Exercises

0

Looking to strengthen your core after turning 50 without resorting to tedious floor crunches? A fitness coach reveals six standing exercises that could be your answer.

>

Having a robust core past the age of 50 is crucial for various daily activities such as carrying, rotating, bracing, walking, and lifting, ensuring you maintain stability. While traditional crunches can isolate your abdominal muscles, standing core exercises engage your midsection as your body moves, offering more functional benefits from the get-go.

This is where the effectiveness of standing exercises truly comes into play. By incorporating carries, you challenge your core to maintain proper posture under stress. Pallof press variations teach your torso how to resist unwanted rotation. Meanwhile, medicine ball slams infuse your routine with power and endurance. Finally, cross-body crunches directly target your abs and obliques, all without requiring you to hit the floor.

In training sessions, the focus is often on ensuring the core can support rather than merely generate movement. A strong core should effectively link your ribs and hips during carries, stabilize your torso against the tension of resistance bands, and efficiently transfer force during slams. These exercises directly train those functions, all while remaining practical and easy on the joints.

Incorporate this standing core routine into your workout two to four times a week. Focus on executing each repetition with precision, choose weights you can handle with control, and complete each set knowing your posture, balance, and core strength have been challenged.

Farmer’s March

The farmer’s march trains your abs, obliques, grip, shoulders, upper back, hips, and legs. Holding weights at your sides engages your posture muscles, while the marching pattern challenges your core to stay steady as one leg lifts at a time. This exercise builds bracing strength and balance, both of which help your core feel stronger during daily movement. Use dumbbells, kettlebells, or loaded bags you can hold safely.

Muscles Trained: Abs, obliques, deep core, grip, shoulders, upper back, hip flexors, glutes.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with a dumbbell or kettlebell in each hand.
  2. Brace your core and keep your shoulders level.
  3. Lift one knee to hip height, or as high as you can control.
  4. Pause briefly at the top.
  5. Lower your foot with control.
  6. Alternate sides while keeping your posture tall.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 40 seconds. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Bodyweight marches, lighter farmer’s marches, slow farmer’s marches, suitcase marches.

Form Tip: Keep your ribs stacked over your hips and avoid leaning back as your knees lift.

The 8-Minute Bed Routine That Restores Leg Muscle Faster Than Weight Training After 55

Suitcase Carry

Suitcase carries train your obliques, deep core, grip, shoulders, upper back, glutes, and legs. Holding weight on one side asks your core to fight the pull without letting your torso lean. That makes the exercise one of the best standing core builders for posture, balance, and real-world strength. Walk slowly and keep your shoulders level from start to finish.

Muscles Trained: Obliques, abs, deep core, grip, shoulders, upper back, glutes.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with a dumbbell or kettlebell beside one foot.
  2. Hinge down and pick up the weight with one hand.
  3. Brace your core and stand tall.
  4. Walk forward with slow, controlled steps.
  5. Keep your shoulders level as you move.
  6. Set the weight down safely and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 carries of 20 to 40 seconds per side. Rest for 45 seconds between each side.

Best Variations: Lighter suitcase carries, marching suitcase holds, offset carries, farmer carries.

Form Tip: Keep the weight from pulling you sideways and walk with quiet, controlled steps.

Med Ball Slam

Med ball slams train your abs, shoulders, lats, hips, glutes, and legs. The movement asks your core to transfer force from your upper body through your hips as you drive the ball down. Slams also provide a conditioning effect that can support a leaner midsection when paired with consistent strength work, walking, and nutrition habits. Use a soft medicine ball that’s built for slamming.

Muscles Trained: Abs, lats, shoulders, upper back, glutes, hips, legs.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a medicine ball with both hands.
  2. Brace your core and raise the ball overhead.
  3. Reach tall without arching your lower back.
  4. Drive the ball down toward the floor with force.
  5. Hinge slightly as you slam.
  6. Pick the ball up safely and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Low-impact med ball slams, side slams, scoop slams, lighter ball slams.

Form Tip: Use your abs and hips to drive the ball down, rather than relying solely on your arms.

These 4 Exercises Tone Your Chest Better Than Hour-Long Gym Sessions After 50

Pallof Press

The Pallof press trains your abs, obliques, deep core, glutes, and shoulders. The band or cable pulls your body toward rotation, and your core works to keep your torso facing forward. This makes the Pallof press excellent for building core stability without needing crunches or floor work. Move slowly, press straight out, and keep your hands centered with your chest.

Muscles Trained: Abs, obliques, deep core, glutes, shoulders.

How to Do It:

  1. Anchor a resistance band at chest height.
  2. Stand sideways to the anchor and hold the band at your chest.
  3. Step away until the band has moderate tension.
  4. Brace your core and soften your knees.
  5. Press your hands straight out in front of your chest.
  6. Return your hands to your chest with control and switch sides after your reps.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Cable Pallof presses, kneeling Pallof presses, paused Pallof presses, lighter band presses.

Form Tip: Keep your hips and shoulders square as your arms move.

Staggered-Stance Pallof Hold

The staggered-stance Pallof hold trains your abs, obliques, deep core, glutes, and hips while adding a stronger balance challenge. The split stance helps stabilize your lower body, and the band tension helps your core resist rotation. Holding the position builds steady tension through your midsection, which is useful for posture, balance, and carrying strength. Keep the hold short and strong rather than letting your form fade.

Muscles Trained: Abs, obliques, deep core, glutes, hips, shoulders.

How to Do It:

  1. Anchor a resistance band at chest height.
  2. Stand sideways to the anchor and hold the band at your chest.
  3. Step one foot slightly forward and one foot slightly back.
  4. Brace your core and press your hands straight out.
  5. Hold the position while breathing steadily.
  6. Return your hands to your chest and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 15 to 25-second holds per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each hold.

Best Variations: Standard Pallof holds, wider-stance Pallof holds, lighter band holds, cable Pallof holds.

Form Tip: Keep your front foot rooted and resist the band without twisting your torso.

5 Morning Exercises That Restore Hamstring Strength Faster Than Lunges After 60

Standing Cross-Body Crunch

The standing cross-body crunch trains your abs, obliques, hip flexors, and balance. Keeping it non-alternating lets you focus on one side at a time, which helps you create a better squeeze through the side of your waist. This exercise adds controlled flexion and rotation to the routine after the carries, slams, and Pallof variations handle bracing and stability. Move slowly and keep your chest lifted.

Muscles Trained: Abs, obliques, hip flexors, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Place your hands lightly behind your head.
  3. Shift your weight onto one foot.
  4. Drive one knee up and across your body.
  5. Bring the opposite elbow toward that knee with control.
  6. Lower your foot and repeat on the same side or switch.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Supported cross-body crunches, slower cross-body crunches, smaller-range cross-body crunches.

Form Tip: Lift your knee toward your elbow instead of folding your chest down.

6 Daily Exercises That Regain Muscle Mass Better Than Gym Workouts After 60

How to Build a Stronger, Leaner Core After 50

A stronger, leaner core comes from training your midsection in several roles. Your abs need to brace, resist rotation, carry load, rotate with control, and help transfer force through your body. These six exercises cover those jobs while keeping you on your feet.

  • Use loaded carries for bracing: Farmer’s marches and suitcase carries teach your core to support posture under load. That strength shows up in walking, lifting, and carrying.
  • Train anti-rotation: Pallof presses and staggered-stance Pallof holds teach your torso to stay steady against band tension. This builds deep core control.
  • Add power with control: Med ball slams bring speed, effort, and conditioning into the routine. Keep the reps sharp and stop before they get sloppy.
  • Finish with focused ab work: Cross-body crunches give your abs and obliques direct attention while keeping the movement standing and practical.
  • Pair the routine with daily movement: Walking, steady steps, protein-focused meals, and consistent sleep help your core work support a leaner look over time.

Train your core like it has a job to do. Carry, brace, resist, rotate, and move with control, and your midsection will feel stronger during workouts and daily life.

Manchester City Transfer Update: Enzo Maresca’s Targets, Potential Departures, Rodri’s Surgery, and Man United’s Pursuit of Academy Stars

0

Enzo Maresca has now officially taken the reins as Manchester City’s head coach, succeeding Pep Guardiola. This step marks the beginning of his journey in reshaping the team.

Stepping into the role of Guardiola’s successor, Maresca faces the daunting task of filling immense shoes. His primary challenge will be guiding the club through a pivotal transition this summer, aiming to restore City to its dominant position in English football after two seasons of unmet expectations.

With an initial key signing already made to welcome Maresca’s leadership, his next priority is identifying which players will define the new chapter for the club and determining who may need to move on.

Enzo Maresca was announced as Manchester City's new manager on Monday

Enzo Maresca was announced as Manchester City’s new manager on Monday

An opening statement of intent

City had been in negotiations with Nottingham Forest over Elliot Anderson for weeks. As we reported, there had been a broad agreement on a fee but talks appeared to drag over the finances and timeframe of the bonuses and the two clubs struck a compromise.

It does make Anderson the most expensive British footballer of all time with the £116m deal, edging out Jude Bellingham after his 2023 move to Real Madrid, while the England international is expected to take home up to £300,000 a week – in line with the overall package afforded to now club and country team-mate Marc Guehi in January.

While England are allowing players to complete medicals and moves during the World Cup, it is unlikely that City will push to conduct any in-house media around the deal until Anderson arrives in Manchester, following his mandated post-tournament time off.

Whether any of the World Cup stars go to the pre-season tour of Asia, where Maresca will take the squad to Hong Kong and South Korea, depends on their country’s progression in North America.

Elliot Anderson will become the most expensive English footballer of all time when he joins City

Elliot Anderson will become the most expensive English footballer of all time when he joins City

But do we have an idea on what the Asia tour will look like?

Guardiola’s view on pre-season was that he’d rather players have lengthier rests, often granting longer than the stipulated three weeks, and Maresca’s attitude to that is not yet clear.

Given the tight turnaround, you’d imagine he will want as many of his new charges there as possible. City land back on August 10, six days before the Community Shield against champions Arsenal at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

The timings of City’s trip dictates that any player who exits the World Cup before the quarter-final stage could be on the plane for the first leg of it and a friendly against Inter.

Abdukodir Khusanov certainly will be there, given Uzbekistan’s group-stage exit, but 18 more City stars made it through to the knockout rounds.

Who else could leave?

How long have you got? Nathan Ake is one high-profile name expected to leave amid interest from the Premier League and abroad. Vitor Reis is set to go on tour after a loan spell at sister club Girona in which he impressed despite their relegation from La Liga.

It’s understood that £25m-rated Rico Lewis was mentioned in negotiations surrounding Anderson with Forest and they are still keeping an eye on his situation after getting close to signing the England international last summer. Lewis ultimately signed a new contract but found opportunities severely limited – just 11 Premier League appearances – and is one to watch over the coming weeks.

Tottenham will need to meet City’s valuation of Savinho, thought to be north of £60m, to land the Brazilian winger and appear to be concentrating early-summer efforts on Sandro Tonali at Newcastle United, who City themselves admire.

Ayyoub Bouaddi, Morocco’s breakout star at the World Cup, is one of interest. While the Lille midfielder is only 18, City have made serious checks on him, although further midfield movements on top of Anderson for players who can impact the team this season are likely dependent on outgoings.

Mateo Kovacic is considering his options and Omar Marmoush is in the same boat – leaving Maresca and director of football Hugo Viana with big decisions to make. They are thought to be open to listening to offers for Nico Gonzalez.

A Ruben Dias departure cannot be discounted, particularly a reunion with Bernardo Silva at Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid. Josko Gvardiol is signing a new contract after flirting with the idea of leaving the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old winger Mathys Detourbet – a France Under-20 international signed from sister club Troyes – is going straight out on loan to Monaco, with no clauses attached.

What about Rodri’s future?

Daily Mail Sport can reveal that Rodri is set to undergo surgery on a mystery injury after Spain’s participation at the World Cup and will miss the start of the season.

It’s understood that rehabilitation will not be a long process but the news is hardly ideal for somebody who has struggled to maintain his fitness since his ACL injury almost two years ago.

Rodri will go under the knife whenever his World Cup is over, with Spain set to face Austria in the round of 32 on Thursday. City declined to comment.

The 30-year-old still has a contract offer on the table from City, although talks are not thought to be active as he enters the final 12 months of his contract. If the new deal remains unsigned on January 1, he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs to join them for free next summer. The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has had repeated interest from Real Madrid.

Any movement elsewhere?

The academy is undergoing a shake-up, with Elite Development Squad coach Ben Wilkinson’s departure for Derby County to be announced in the coming days.

Wilkinson enjoyed a hugely successful eight years in the academy setup and coached the likes of Lewis and Nico O’Reilly. His work with O’Reilly in particular has been lauded by club sources. The son of ex-Leeds boss Howard turned down chances to be a No 1 lower down the pyramid to take a role in John Eustace’s backroom staff and is set to be tasked with improving Derby in possession as they plot a return to the Premier League.

That has a knock-on effect elsewhere, with highly-regarded Under 18s boss Oliver Reiss stepping up to take charge of the EDS having won the league and Youth Cup double last season. A promotion for Reiss means that Lauris Coggin, who joined from West Ham in 2025 to be Wilkinson’s assistant, will become Under 18s coach.

Xavier Parker, an England international signed from West Ham, was featuring for the Under 18s at 15 and excels in an advanced midfield role. Manchester United are trying to poach him

Head of coaching Jan-Moritz Lichte is leaving, choosing to become assistant manager at Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

Daily Mail Sport also understands that rivals Manchester United are attempting to raid City’s academy for two 16-year-old talents.

Xavier Parker, an England international signed from West Ham, was featuring for the Under 18s at 15 and excels in an advanced midfield role. Liverpool have also kept tabs on Parker. Karim Cassim, another with England recognition, is one who United are looking to sign over the summer.

Rhapsody Of Realities 30 June 2026: Demons Are Not A Factor

Rhapsody Of Realities 30 June 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Demons Are Not A Factor

TOPIC: Demons Are Not A Factor (Rhapsody of Realities 30 June 2026)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

Let’s establish something very important: you’re not on the same level with demons, no matter how high they are. You’re seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms. That’s your place. That’s your position. It’s important that you understand this.

Therefore, when it comes to dealing with demons, it’s not a struggle. It’s not a situation where you keep exchanging words with them. No. That’s not the picture the Word gives. You don’t negotiate with demons; you cast them out! The Lord Jesus used the strongest words possible. He said, “…In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17).

To “cast out” means to thrust out, to drive out, to pluck out. It gives the picture of forceful removal. That’s the authority He gave you. You’re to command demons to clear out. And He didn’t put any limits to it. He didn’t say if they’re close, you can cast them out, but if they’re far, you can’t. No. He gave you a Name that is above every name, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:10).

Therefore, it doesn’t matter where they are; when you speak in the Name of Jesus, they have to obey. You give the Word wherever you are, they hear you, and they obey. That’s why Satan and the cohorts of hell are not a factor at all. In fact, when you’re told that demons are responsible for something, it should make it easier for you. They understand authority.

This is the reality: you’re seated with Christ. You operate from a place of dominion. Therefore, refuse to fear, refuse to negotiate with demons. Exercise your authority and enforce your dominion over them in Jesus’ Name.

CONFESSION

I’m seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms, far above all principality, power and every name that is named. I exercise authority in the Name of Jesus, and every force of darkness responds to my words. I’m reigning with Christ. Satan and his cohorts are under my feet. Hallelujah!

Philippians 2:9-10 (KJV)
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Katie Price, the media-savvy former glamour model, has opened up about her challenges in trusting others while standing firm in her unwillingness to change. At 48, Price, who’s known for her series of marriages and high-profile romances, reflects on her life that’s been nothing short of dramatic, with a career that brought her substantial wealth during her time in the spotlight.

Currently married to Lee Andrews, a contentious figure who recently vanished during a trip to Dubai, Price contemplates her situation. She shared, “I’m 48 now, and I doubt anyone can change me at this point. I often tell my mum, ‘I am who I am. Accept it.'”

Her mother frequently questions her choices with, “Why do you do this? Why do you do that?”

To which Price replies, “Mum, just allow me to be myself.”

“But I trust my family, and I find it hard to trust anyone. That’s why my circle is so small these days. I don’t need more friendships or anything. I’m happy with how it is.”

Katie is currently promoting a brand new four-part Sky documentary, in which she candidly addresses her four marriages, nine engagements and her life and career to date. The series also features former partners including Dane Bowers and Gareth Gates speaking openly on camera, recounting wild evenings and remarkable moments from their time together, reports the Mirror.

Katie says what she values most nowadays is having a clear sense of direction and remaining firmly in control of her own life. She said: “Being in control of everything. No one controls me now. No one dictates what I do. I still have my little rebellious moments and all of that, but that’s just me. My life will never be boring. It’s always, ‘What’s she done now?’, and I think it’s always going to be like that, but to be honest I like it like that, because it’s exciting.”

Having first burst onto the scene as her alter ego ‘Jordan’ as a glamour model in 1996, Katie has since become one of the most photographed women of her generation.

Over three decades, her life has unfolded across newspapers, magazines, reality television and social media, encompassing everything from marriages, motherhood and multi-million pound contracts to scandal, cosmetic surgery, bankruptcy and betrayal.

She said: “Across the whole thirty years, there’s always been an element of fun. But if you. imagine weighing scales, as much as there’s been good, there’s equally been bad. As the decades went on, the bad started to take a toll on me, which obviously affected my mental health. But I am a happy girl, and I like to make things fun, different and creative. That’s one thing you can’t take away from me.”

Despite the seemingly relentless turbulence in her personal life, she maintains that she actively seeks tranquillity whenever she steps away from the spotlight to cherish precious moments with her family. When quizzed about what her day-to-day existence is truly like, she revealed: “Very boring, I would say. I love being at home and doing normal things: cooking, putting the fire on, watching TV, having a cup of tea and looking forward to the latest drama or reality show. I ride my horses, walk the dog and get my hair and nails done. That is literally it. I don’t go to parties and all of that. Very rarely. I’m just a home girl, which people would probably be surprised to see.”

Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, a four-part Sky Original series, will be available on Sky and streaming service NOW on July 8.

Unmissable FIFA World Cup 2026: June 30 Match Results and Highlights Unveiled

The excitement on the pitch reached fever pitch today, with unexpected victories and intense penalty showdowns captivating fans globally.

In a riveting World Cup encounter held in Monterrey, Morocco clinched a spot in the Round of 16 by defeating the Netherlands in a thrilling penalty shootout. This gripping match ended 1-1 after extra time, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.

The hero of the day, Morocco’s goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, made a pivotal save, stopping the Netherlands’ fourth penalty taken by Crysencio Summerville. The tension was palpable when striker Ismael Saibari seized the moment, delivering the decisive penalty that secured Morocco’s 3-2 victory in the shootout.

With this victory, Morocco eagerly anticipates a last-16 matchup against Canada, scheduled to take place in Houston on Saturday.

The match itself was nothing short of a spectacle. As the Netherlands seemed poised for a win, Morocco’s Issa Diop stunned everyone with a spectacular equalizer in the first minute of stoppage time, forcing the contest into extra time.

The Dutch had taken the lead midway through the second half with a goal from Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo, who finally found the back of the net in the 72nd minute.

Gakpo burst into tears and sank to the ground following the goal and was instantly buried by his teammates. Gakpo and his wife had only announced on Sunday that they had lost their unborn son during pregnancy.

But Morocco forced extra time when an unmarked Diop headed home from substitute Chemsdine Talbi’s cross in injury time.

Morocco had created the better chances of a fractious encounter, which saw players from both sides flying into tackles to test the patience of Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio.

The Atlas Lions almost took the lead on 20 minutes when Neil al-Aynaoui glanced an Achraf Hakimi corner goalwards only to be denied by a superb reflex save from Netherlands goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Verbruggen was pressed into action moments later, this time doing well to tip a vicious strike from Hakimi over the bar.

The fierce nature of the contest was on full display midway through the half when Saibari was lucky to escape sanction after elbowing Jan Paul van Hecke in the face.

The Dutch continued to enjoy plenty of possession but were unable to convert it into goalscoring chances.

Their best effort came on 44 minutes when Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven uncorked a ferocious shot from the edge of the area that was tipped over by Bounou.

Van Hecke continued to find himself in the thick of the action, and after bloodying his head in a collision in the penalty area, made his presence felt with a crunching tackle that upended el-Aynaoui just before half-time.

As the half ended, Saibari just failed to connect with a cross that flashed across the Dutch goal before going behind.

The Netherlands football team, dressed in bright orange clothes, celebrate a goal on the pitch.

The drama continued into an end-to-end second half, but appeared to have tilted in the Netherlands’ favour when coach Ronald Koeman brought on forward Wout Weghorst in a flurry of substitutions after the hydration break.

Weghorst made an immediate impact, flicking on a long ball to send Summerville bearing in on goal. Summerville crossed to Gakpo, who hurled himself at the ball to score.

The Netherlands, superbly marshalled by Gakpo’s Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk, appeared to be heading for victory but Diop’s late header sent it to extra-time.

Morocco looked to have made the breakthrough when Soufiane Rahimi went through on goal in the 96th minute, only to be denied by a jaw-dropping save from Verbruggen.

The Netherlands held on for penalties but despite Morocco missing their first when El-Aynaoui hit the bar, the North Africans recovered to seal the win.

Paraguay stun Germany

Germany have crashed out of the World Cup at the hands of Paraguay in the Round of 32 after losing 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Tuesday’s defeat marks the first time that Germany have ever lost a penalty shootout at a World Cup.

Julio Enciso headed Paraguay into a shock lead before half-time, but Arsenal forward Kai Havertz levelled for Germany in the 54th minute with his third goal of the tournament.

Jonathan Tah saw a goal disallowed after a VAR review in extra time, before Paraguay held on to shock Germany in a wild, nerve-wracking shootout as the momentum swung back and forth.

Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill saved from Havertz and Nick Woltemade, but his teammates blew two chances to win it before José Canale buried the winning spot-kick after Tah blazed his effort over the bar.

It marked another premature exit for Germany, who were playing in their first knockout-stage appearance since winning the 2014 World Cup.

Paraguay celebrated arguably their greatest win at the tournament, but they face the daunting prospect of running into an in-form France next should Les Bleus beat Sweden.

Julian Nagelsmann handed Deniz Undav his first start of the tournament, after the Stuttgart striker scored three times in the opening two games as a substitute.

He came in for Jamal Musiala as Nathaniel Brown returned at left-back, having missed the Ecuador loss as a precaution due to a minor injury.

Miguel Almirón was recalled by Paraguay following a one-match ban after becoming the first player to be sent off for covering his mouth during an on-field confrontation under new FIFA rules.

Paraguay coach Gustavo Alfaro had urged his players to grasp the opportunity of a lifetime, and they came close to scoring barely a minute into the game.

Júnior Alonso found space at the back post from a corner but was unable to beat Manuel Neuer.

Germany’s 7-1 win over Curaçao in their opener offered a glimpse of their attacking firepower, but it papered over what has otherwise been an often blunt forward line.

Undav floated an effort wide as Germany struggled to break down a compact Paraguay defence, and they paid the price when they lost their shape before half-time, allowing Enciso to head home.

Paraguay recycled possession after Neuer punched clear a corner, working it out wide on the right for Matías Galarza to fizz in a cross that picked out a completely unmarked Enciso.

Remarkably, it was Paraguay’s first goal in the World Cup knockout stage, having failed to score in their previous five matches, including a 1-0 defeat by Germany in the last 16 in 2002.

A colourful graphic displaying the World Cup bracket for the winners of the Germany v Paraguay and France v Sweden matches. Paraguay is progressing. France and Sweden have not played yet.

Uncommonly toothless in the first half, Germany brought Leon Goretzka on at the break but almost conceded again when an under-hit backpass from Joshua Kimmich forced Neuer to race out and stop Enciso doubling the lead.

However, they at last breached Paraguay’s dogged rearguard when Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz cut in from the left and delivered a cross that Havertz glanced into the far corner to ease Germany’s nerves.

Paraguay lost Enciso to injury, and with it their main outlet, leading to a growing sense of inevitability that Germany’s pressure would eventually tell.

But Orlando Gill reacted sharply to claw away Havertz’s header from another Wirtz cross and Paraguay bravely clung on to send the match into extra time.

Tah thought he had put Germany in front with a powerful back-post header from Nathaniel Brown’s looping corner, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review for a foul by Waldemar Anton on the goalkeeper.

Anton headed straight at Gill from another corner, but Paraguay withstood Germany’s set-piece barrage and then kept their cool to spring a monumental World Cup upset.

Brazil find a buzzer beater

Substitute Gabriel Martinelli scored deep in injury time as Brazil beat a stubborn Japan 2-1 on Monday to roll into the World Cup’s Round of 16.

Arsenal winger Martinelli struck in the 95th minute in Houston to break Japanese hearts in the most dramatic fashion.

Brazil will face either the Côte d’Ivoire or Norway in New Jersey on Monday after edging a captivating knockout encounter.

Japan midfielder Kaishū Sano scored a classy solo goal after 29 minutes following a Brazil mistake to stun the huge numbers of fans decked out in yellow.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men hit back 11 minutes after half-time with a header from veteran Casemiro as Brazil dominated the second period.

Then up popped Martinelli right at the death to settle it and send the Brazil fans wild.

History was against Japan: they had never won a knockout game at the World Cup, while Brazil were record five-time champions.

But this is not a vintage Brazil side, even with Ancelotti at the helm, while Japan have been talked of as dark horses.

With the Brazil fans’ drums providing a constant rhythmic backdrop, Ancelotti’s side were on top early on in front of a crowd of 68,777 people.

Images of Neymar on the bench popped up on the big screens, the noise from the Brazil fans going up another notch.

Defensive midfielder Sano was booked for crunching in on Vinícius Júnior, then Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha forced goalkeeper Zion Suzuki to turn the ball wide.

Japan, who beat Brazil 3-2 in October in a home friendly for their first victory over the South Americans, then enjoyed a spell in the ascendancy.

Just before the half-hour mark, Hajime Moriyasu’s team took the lead, and it stemmed from an error by Danilo as he gave the ball away with a sloppy pass.

Sano, one of four changes from Japan’s 1-1 draw with Sweden at the end of the group phase, picked the ball up in the centre circle and got away from the 34-year-old Casemiro — who was on a booking — with ease.

Sano, who plays for Mainz in Germany, drove upfield before sweeping the ball past Liverpool goalkeeper Álisson Becker. It was his first goal for his country.

Now the Brazil supporters were edgy, groaning when a move broke down or a pass went backwards.

A colourful graphic displaying the full-time result of Brazil v Japan in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32 knockout stage.

Brazil, whose last World Cup triumph was in 2002, looked unconvincing at the back and ineffective in attack.

Ancelotti was forced into a change at the break, an emotional Lucas Paqueta limping off in distress with the attacking midfielder replaced by 19-year-old striker Endrick.

Japan, which thrashed Tunisia and held the Netherlands and Sweden to reach the last 32, had Brazil where they wanted them.

Brazil ramped up the pressure to start the second half, and Japan defender Takehiro Tomiyasu twice kept the ball off the line, not that he knew much about it.

Brazil were soon level, Arsenal defender Gabriel sending in an inviting cross for midfielder Casemiro to head in unmarked at the back post.

Vinícius, well stifled up until then, turned the Japan defence inside out and stabbed the ball towards Suzuki, who directed it onto the post.

It was all Brazil as they pushed for a late winner, with Vinícius — who scored four times in the group stage — increasingly in the thick of it.
