Alabama Father Misplaces Prosthetic Leg During Family Getaway in PCB’s Gulf Waters

0

A planned day of enjoyment turned into an unexpected challenge for Andrew Walker in Bay County, Florida.

While vacationing with his family near Beach Access 63 in Panama City Beach, the Alabama dad found himself in a predicament when his prosthetic leg was swept away by the Gulf waters.

“I was assisting my youngest son with his wakeboarding, trying to prevent him from being dragged out to sea. This required me to venture further into the water than usual. Unfortunately, a wave struck us with such force that it dislodged my prosthetic leg and its liner—something that had never occurred before,” recounted Walker.

His immediate concern, however, was not the prosthetic; it was his son’s safety.

“The moment it came off, it was nearly in my grasp. But when my son fell, I had to release it to help him back to the beach. As soon as I let go, the current carried it away,” Walker explained.

Walker lost his leg in a work accident ten years ago and has relied on a prosthetic ever since.

He says what makes the loss even more frustrating is that the leg was brand new.

“I just got it about a week and a half ago, so hopefully I’ll be able to go back and get another one soon,” Walker said.

Fortunately, Walker brought an older backup prosthetic leg on the trip, but he says it feels and shows its age.

“We just happened to go by and pick this one up yesterday. But it’s old. It’s like ten years old. Don’t fit right,” Walker said.

Replacing a prosthetic can be expensive, depending on the technology and customization. But Walker is staying positive, saying he will continue to enjoy his vacation with family at the beach.

If you have any information regarding the location of the prosthetic leg or would like to help out the family, you can contact Andrew wife Candace Walker at bamagurl062003@yahoo.com

Jeremy Clarkson Opens Up About His Cancer Diagnosis During ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ Filming

0

Jeremy Clarkson has made a heartbreaking revelation about his health, disclosing he has been diagnosed with an ‘aggressive’ form of cancer. This news came to light through a poignant clip from his Amazon Prime Video series.

The announcement was featured in the concluding episodes of the fifth season of “Clarkson’s Farm,” which were made available to viewers overnight. Clarkson, known for his roles on “Top Gear” and “The Grand Tour,” chose this moment to share his personal battle.

The episodes capture a visibly moved 66-year-old Clarkson breaking the news to his deeply affected co-stars, Charlie and Kaleb Cooper. The Coopers manage the Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds alongside Clarkson.

During a conversation about their future plans for the harvest, Clarkson delivered the unexpected news, leaving his colleagues visibly shaken.

In a particularly emotional scene, Clarkson reclines in his chair, struggling to maintain his composure, as he informs the stunned pair, “I’ve got cancer.”

A disbelieving Kaleb quickly says back: ‘No, you haven’t. Where?’ to which Clarkson says: ‘Where it is of no concern of anybody. I’ve known since May.’

The father-of-three goes on to reveal he has been diagnosed with an ‘aggressive’ form of cancer and will have to take time off during the harvest.

He says: ‘I had a medical, you remember back in May. I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy and it is cancer and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early so the treatment will be, you know.

‘I was praying we could get the harvest done and then I could go and get some treatment but it’s going to be slap bang in the middle.’

Meanwhile, a tearful Kaleb throws his support behind him, saying: ‘Look after yourself, you go and do… if you need anything just ring.’

Clarkson says he needs an operation and as a result his body will be ‘out of action for a little while’, adding that he ‘wasn’t thrilled’ at the prospect.

In a later scene speaking with his girlfriend Lisa Hogan, Kaleb, Charlie and Gerald, Clarkson says: ‘So we started the year and I had coronary heart disease and ended it with me with cancer.

‘We can dwell as much as we like on all the bad things that have happened on the farm but I think it is better now at the end of the year to focus on things that have happened that are good.’

When asked by Kaleb when they will know if the treatments have worked on the cancer, he replies: ‘I don’t know, I’ve got a blood test today, there’ll be a blood test and then we’ll know.

‘Not for another few weeks. Come on cheer up, it probably did work.’

However, the show then moves on to show Clarkson in a hospital bed, where he reveals it hasn’t gone completely to plan.

He says: ‘Some of the treatment has gone awry, let’s say, I’m going to be here for a little while. I’m nil by mouth, I don’t know what’s going to happen.

‘What I wanted to say was if this is all successful I’ll see you for season six and if it isn’t I won’t. Take care everyone.’

Clarkson had hinted beforehand that not all was well, posting a clip on his Instagram yesterday warning viewers that the upcoming episodes would be ‘difficult’ to watch.

He said: ‘Sombre news, Clarkson’s Farm. Ordinarily we try to keep the show bucolic and charming and cheerful.

‘But the final two episodes which drop in the middle of the night tonight are none of those things really.

‘They’re a difficult watch. They’re really, really difficult.’

Meanwhile, in a press release ahead of the first episodes of the fifth season, Prime Video ominously warned: ‘In the climactic episodes, things turn dark as bad luck strikes from every direction, causing massive upset and tension in every way possible.’

However, Clarkson has kept busy since the show was filmed, with production currently underway for the new series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, which he hosts, while a sixth season of Clarkson’s Farm has been ordered by Prime Video.

It comes after a difficult couple of years for the broadcaster, who was rushed to hospital in 2024 after suffering from chest pains.

While on the ward, doctors discovered one of his arteries was ‘completely blocked’ with the presenter later saying he had been ‘days from death’.

Fortunately surgeons were able to resolve the issue by inserting a stent – a tiny, expandable mesh tube that is placed in narrow or blocked coronary arteries to restore and aid the flow of blood.

The presenter, 66, previously fell ill with excruciating chest pains in 2024 and was rushed to hospital by ambulance, where doctors discovered one of his arteries was 'completely blocked'

When he returned to work after that health scare in one of the early episodes of the fifth series, Clarkson told Kaleb: ‘I’m back and not dead. The grim reaper will have to wait. It was f***ing close, though.’

The former Top Gear host revealed he first felt unwell in 2024 following a swim in the Indian Ocean while on holiday.

He explained that ‘it wasn’t far, maybe the length of two swimming pools. But when I finally reached the beach, there was more water in my lungs than there is in Lake Superior, and I was mostly dead.’

Clarkson returned to Britain and a ‘sudden deterioration began to gather pace’ with him feeling ‘clammy’, ‘tightness in my chest’, and ‘pins and needles in my left arm’

This led him to being admitted to hospital where a heart attack was ruled out after he had an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood tests and X-rays.

Following the life-saving surgery, he was warned by doctors that he must make major changes to his lifestyle.

Since it was first released on Amazon Prime in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm has become a huge hit and gone on to have four successful series.

Series five was announced back in December 2024, followed by filming last year and wrapping up in February 2026.

Over 140 FDNY Responders Rush to JFK for Delta Flight’s Emergency Landing Due to Flat Tires

0

A significant emergency response was triggered at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Tuesday when a Delta Air Lines flight faced reported issues with its landing gear, prompting the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) to spring into action.

The aircraft in question, Delta Flight 1966, was an Airbus A321neo that had departed from San Juan. Onboard were 170 passengers, accompanied by two pilots and four flight attendants.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. local time, emergency services received alerts about the incoming plane potentially having “two flat front tires,” as confirmed by FDNY representatives to News Media.

This report initiated an immediate “normal stand by second alarm” response from the FDNY, mobilizing a substantial contingent of 46 units and 141 fire and emergency medical services personnel to handle any unforeseen circumstances.

Delta told News Media there was only “some damage” to one tire and clarified that the tire never blew, but rather suffered from tread wear.

Floyd Mayweather Charged with Felony for Allegedly Using Bounced Check in $200K Luxury Watch Purchase

0

Floyd Mayweather, renowned for his boxing prowess, finds himself in legal hot water over financial issues.

The boxing icon is confronted with two felony charges in Nevada, stemming from allegations that he issued a bad check during the purchase of a $200,000 watch in Las Vegas, according to court documents.

The charges against the 49-year-old include “theft of property valued at $100,000 or more” and “issuing a check with intent to defraud, involving an amount of $1,200 or more.”

Although Mayweather’s court hearing was scheduled for Monday, he opted not to attend in person and was instead represented by his legal team.

The case began with a criminal complaint filed on August 27, prompting a court order requiring Mayweather’s appearance before a judge.

The complaint alleges Mayweather wrote a $200,000 check to the high-end Las Vegas resale store Gold and Beyond on Dec. 31, 2024, while he had “had insufficient money, property, or credit” in the account to pay it in full.

If found guilty of fraud, Mayweather could face up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Felony theft is a little more extreme, with up to 20 years in prison and $15,000 in fines.

“The reason for the delay is that my guy trusted Mayweather and was trying to give him every opportunity to make good on that,” Marc Cook, an attorney for Cook & Kelesis, which represents Gold and Beyond, told ESPN. “And it got to the point where he wasn’t getting responses and wasn’t getting money for a watch that Mayweather had for well over a year.”

The boxer earned over $1 billion in his boxing career but has faced financial issues since his ring days ended.

Plaintiffs in at least four states claim Mayweather owes them money; he reportedly owes $7.3 million in taxes to the IRS, and he is in a lawsuit with Showtime Networks for over $340 million.

Billionaire Secures Trump’s Endorsement in Georgia Political Race

0

A billionaire with a compelling life story has triumphed over President Donald Trump’s favored candidate in the race for Georgia’s governor’s seat.

Healthcare executive Rick Jackson emerged victorious against Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor, Burt Jones, during the Republican gubernatorial runoff on Tuesday night.

With this win, Jackson will advance to the general election, where he will compete against former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

NBC News projected Jackson as the winner shortly before 9:30 p.m. ET, as he maintained a steady lead throughout the night in the Republican runoff.

This election served as a litmus test for whether significant financial resources could outmatch the influence of a Trump endorsement.

It marks the second time this cycle that voters have revolted against the President in a governor’s race – the first of which happened in Iowa.

Jackson spent $100 million of his own cash on the race, with Jones protesting in the runoff’s waning hours that ‘Georgia is not for sale.’

In a curious post on Monday, Donald Trump Jr seemed to be setting the table for a Jackson upset, in case his father’s endorsement of Jones wasn’t enough to get the lieutenant governor across the line.

The younger Trump commended Jackson for saving the US’s last production facility for the important antibiotic amoxicillin, a move the billionaire made in 2021, and footing the bill for a new oil refinery in Texas.

Trump Jr said Jackson was ‘building up MAGA and an America First economy’ and called him a ‘good man.’

‘Btw this is not an endorsement of Rick and I think [Jones] is a great guy too. My only point is that no matter who wins tomorrow, it’s a victory for MAGA,’ Trump Jr posted to X.

Jackson also received an endorsement from a possible 2028 GOP presidential hopeful, Senator Ted Cruz.

The elder Trump had endorsed Jones back in August.

‘He is a WARRIOR, a successful Businessman, former SEC Championship winning Georgia Bulldogs football player (Known for his toughness!), and now, as Lieutenant Governor, Burt has proven he has the Courage and Wisdom to deliver strong results for the incredible people of his wonderful State and Nation,’ Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time.

Jackson didn’t announce his bid until February.

He positioned himself as an outsider with a backstory that was representative of the American dream.

Jackson lived in five different foster homes in Atlanta and referred to himself as ‘white trash’ before working his way up through the sales industry and becoming the billionaire owner of Jackson Healthcare.

He’s supportive of Trump, despite not having the President’s blessing in the race.

‘I’ll be President Trump’s favorite governor because I’ll bring the same businessman’s mindset and outsider’s resolve to solving problems. I’ll be just like him, but with a southern tone,’ he wrote in an X post Monday.

Incumbent Governor Brian Kemp, who is term-limited, has a complicated relationship with Trump’s MAGA base due to the certification of President Joe Biden’s win in the state during the 2020 election, which the President still falsely claims he won.

Still, Kemp is popular in the state, and threw his weight behind Jones on Sunday.

‘Burt knows how to get things done as governor because that’s what he has done as a state senator and as your Lt. Governor,’ Kemp wrote in a post on X.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who was critical of Trump for his 2020 behavior, was previously in the governor’s race, but only received 14 percent of the vote in the May GOP primary.

Jones came in first place with 38 percent of the vote, followed by Jackson with 34 percent, forcing Tuesday’s runoff.

The Democratic gubernatorial primary did not go to a runoff, with former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms winning decisively in the state’s primary last month.

Georgia hasn’t elected a Democratic governor since 1998, when Governor Roy Barnes served until 2003.

The Cook Political Report has rated the race a toss-up.

The state has two Democratic US senators and went for Biden in the 2020 presidential race.

In 2018, Democrat Stacey Abrams, who served as the Democratic leader in the state House and had a national profile, came less than 2 points away from beating Kemp.

In their 2022 rematch, Kemp improved his record, beating Abrams by more than 7 points.

Mother’s Alert to Authorities Thwarts Possible UFC Event Threat Near White House

0

A potential scheme to target a Sunday night UFC event at the White House was reportedly thwarted by a concerned mother who observed her son’s increasing preoccupation with firearms, tactical equipment, and clandestine online activities.

Per court documents obtained by News Media, 19-year-old Tycen Proper from Ohio faces charges related to an alleged conspiracy aimed at a UFC event planned for the White House premises. Investigators were alerted to Proper’s activities after his mother, disturbed by his recent conduct, reached out to the authorities.

Federal officials claim Proper was involved with a group intending to launch an attack on UFC Freedom 250, scheduled for June 14 on the White House South Lawn. The alleged plan reportedly included the use of drones equipped with explosives, sniper setups, and coordinated strikes against attendees and other specified targets.

The complaint highlights a significant red flag when Proper’s mother noticed his interest in areas around Washington, D.C., along with his receipt of maps and images via text messages and the Discord platform.

An image of Tycen Proper was released by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. (Franklin County Sheriff’s Office)

When she confronted him, Proper allegedly said the group planned to conduct “recon” and “hit and run missions.”

She later told investigators she interpreted that as planning shootings.

The criminal complaint reveals that Proper’s mother contacted authorities on June 10, after becoming concerned about her son’s recent firearms purchases and communications with people he had met online.

When deputies responded to the family’s Knox County, Ohio, home, Proper’s father told officers his son had recently met people online and had been planning “recons” with them. He also said Proper planned to leave during the weekend of June 13 to meet members of the group.

Proper’s father told investigators his son had recently acquired firearms, body armor, ammunition and tactical gear, allegedly spending about $3,000 of his graduation money on the purchases. Family members later voluntarily turned over the equipment to law enforcement, according to the complaint.

Proper’s mother told investigators he had recently begun communicating with an online group whose members claimed to be former military personnel and described themselves as Christian-based. She said the group appeared to be influencing him and that she noticed him becoming increasingly focused on physical training and tactical preparation.

After local authorities contacted the FBI, investigators reviewed Proper’s phone and allegedly discovered Signal chats discussing plans for an attack during the June 14 UFC event at the White House, including the use of explosive-laden drones and shooters positioned near evacuation routes.

Prosecutors also allege Proper later admitted participating in planning discussions.

Retired FBI agent Jason Pack previously told News Media that the investigation highlighted the importance of family members recognizing behavior and reporting it to authorities.

“That’s how this got stopped,” Pack said.

The complaint suggests that before investigators uncovered encrypted communications and alleged attack planning, the first break in the case came from a mother who saw troubling changes in her son and decided to make a phone call.

In an interview with Fox News host Will Cain on “The Will Cain Show” Tuesday, retired FBI supervisory agent Rob Chadwick called the mother’s actions courageous.

“Thankful for the one mother’s courage to come forward and say something, even though it meant the certain arrest of her own son,” Chadwick said, “but that’s what it’s going to take, this type of surveillance or awareness of what is happening around you, understanding we are in the unprecedented time of political violence.”

Unlocking Potential: How Breece Hall and the ‘Hungry’ Jets Aim to Shatter 2023 Expectations

0

Running back Breece Hall is setting his sights high for the New York Jets’ 2026 season, believing the team is poised to defy expectations and make a significant impact.

“We all share the same objective and have an insatiable hunger for success,” Hall declared following the Jets’ initial minicamp session on Tuesday. “Our aim is to catch everyone by surprise this year.”

Despite Hall’s optimism, ESPN’s Football Power Index, an analytics-based ranking system, has placed the Jets at a lowly 31st position in the NFL. Few outside the Jets’ fan base anticipate a standout season for the team in Aaron Glenn’s second year at the helm.

Still, Hall, who committed to the Jets with a three-year contract extension this spring, remains encouraged by what he has observed from his teammates thus far.

“With players like me, Garrett Wilson, and Geno Smith, we hold ourselves to the expectation of being among the elite in our positions,” Hall explained. “We’re instilling this mindset in the entire team—striving to be among the best. We want to excel, whether it’s our first season with the new quarterback or any other adjustment we face.”

Hall pointed out that the defense has been playing hard even in walk-throughs.

“This is definitely different from what we’ve had in the past,” Hall said.

The highlight of Tuesday’s practice was a red-zone touchdown pass from Smith to Adonai Mitchell in the back of the end zone. Smith placed the ball where only Mitchell could grab it and Mitchell did a toe tap to stay in bounds.

Smith and Mitchell have made a lot of highlight plays this spring and seem to have good chemistry.

“I’m really excited about AD,” Smith said. “I think he’s going to be a special player for a long time. He’s obviously got the talent. What people might not see is the way that he works, the way that he studies, just the type of teammate that he is. He’s a great teammate. I think that goes a long way.”

Former Jets coach Rex Ryan was at practice Tuesday. Ryan’s son, Seth, is the team’s passing game coordinator. … The Jets signed fourth-round pick DT Darrell Jackson and they now have all of their draft picks under contract.

Rookie QB Cade Klubnik (back) did not practice but was throwing on the side. Glenn said it was the team being cautious and he thinks Klubnik will practice later this week.

The team’s three-day minicamp concludes Thursday.

FBI Thwarts Alleged Drone Attack Targeting White House During Major UFC Event: Key Details Revealed

0

In Brief

  • The FBI obtained encrypted text messages between roughly 20 participants outlining the alleged attack.
  • A 19-year-old has been arrested in relation to the planned attack which was organised through online chat groups.

In a dramatic intervention, US law enforcement authorities have successfully disrupted a planned assault on a high-profile UFC cage-fighting event, recently held at the White House. This revelation comes from newly unsealed court documents that shed light on the thwarted plot.

The conspirators, reportedly dissatisfied with the state of the nation, had envisioned a violent attack involving the use of drones equipped with explosives. Their chilling plan included shooting at attendees as they attempted to flee the chaos.

According to the court papers, the FBI intercepted encrypted communications among approximately 20 individuals involved in the scheme. These messages contained detailed maps of the area, alongside discussions about establishing a “safe house” and planning escape routes post-attack.

While the court records do not specify how close the conspirators were to executing their plan, it is clear that their intentions were serious. The plot was uncovered and dismantled last week, just in the nick of time.

FBI agents first caught wind of the potential threat on June 10, mere days before the mixed martial arts spectacle was set to take place on the White House’s South Lawn. This swift action underscores the importance of vigilance and rapid response in safeguarding national security.

“Thanks to the rapid action of the FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold,” director Kash Patel said in a post to X on Tuesday.

Five people were arrested from states including Ohio, Missouri and California, a law enforcement official familiar with the matter said.

The official spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity to discuss information that was not yet public.

Among those arrested was Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old Ohio man whose mother contacted local law enforcement last week with concerns about his firearms purchases and online communications, according to an FBI affidavit filed in the case.

An assistant federal public defender assigned to represent Proper, who is charged with crimes including attempted murder of an officer or employee of the United States, did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

Proper admitted in an interview with law enforcement that he participated in the planning of an attack, according to the affidavit, which says some members of the group began communicating with each other last March through a TikTok group called “Vanguard of the Old”.

“The members of the group stated that they wanted to protect the United States, which they believed was headed in the wrong direction,” the affidavit says.

“Members of the group believed that the United States needed to be torn down so that it could be rebuilt.

“Some expressed a desire that people who were involved with Jeffrey Epstein should not govern the country.”

President Donald Trump was friends with Epstein many years ago, but has said he ended their relationship before the disgraced financier’s crimes became known.

Embattled Congressman Faces High-Stakes Clash with Jon Ossoff Amid Scandal Allegations

0

A Georgia Congressman, backed by former President Donald Trump and no stranger to controversy, has emerged victorious in the state’s Senate GOP primary runoff. This win positions him to take on a prominent Democratic contender.

Rep. Mike Collins successfully defeated Derek Dooley, a former football coach, in Tuesday night’s election, according to projections by NBC News.

Before the votes were cast, Collins was heavily favored, with prediction market Kalshi giving him a 90 percent chance of winning. As the results started to pour in, Collins maintained an 8-point lead over Dooley with roughly half the votes counted.

However, Collins’ campaign has not been without its challenges. Insiders from the White House political circle have shown some reluctance regarding Trump’s endorsement of Collins, given the controversy surrounding him.

Allegations have surfaced about Collins’ former chief of staff, who purportedly hired his girlfriend for $10,000 in work that other staff members couldn’t identify. Moreover, his current chief of staff was reportedly involved in a chat group with white nationalists and anti-Semites. Additionally, a past intern and campaign staffer openly identified as a racist.

Collins has also been accused of peddling ‘racist’ social media posts, specifically after he circulated a video in 2024 of a college student making monkey sounds and gestures at a black female student with the caption, ‘taking care of business.’

And Republicans are concerned because incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff, 39, has surged in polls and heralded as a possible 2028 presidential candidate after a series of rousing speeches that have eviscerated Trump and electrified his party base.

Trump threw his support behind the Congressman in a last-minute endorsement announced on Monday, all but formally cementing Collins as the Republican nominee.

Some in Trump’s orbit have raised alarm over Collins’ hardline stance on abortion – the Congressman said in 2022 he supported no exceptions, even for rape, incest or when a mother’s life is at risk.

A major Democratic super PAC dubbed Collins ‘an opposition researcher’s dream.’

‘He treats Congress like a money-making scheme for his family business, an ethics-free zone, and a conspiracy theory clearinghouse – sometimes all in the same week,’ said Lauren French, a spokeswoman for Senate Majority PAC after Collins was crowned the nominee.

Ossoff, meanwhile, is widely seen as a next-generation leader of the Democratic Party after his surprising 2021 election win over then-incumbent Republican David Perdue.

The Senator has also become one of the best fundraisers in the country, entering the general election cycle with over $32 million in his campaign coffers.

Collins, by contrast, has just over $1 million in campaign cash on hand, per his latest federal filings.

Polls heading into the November general election show Ossoff with an edge over Collins.

The path to victory for Collins in the general election treads through difficult terrain.

Though Trump won Georgia by two points in 2024, the state is still seen as a battleground that has flipped back and forth between the two parties.

Ossoff, meanwhile, is the only Democratic Senator who is up for reelection in a state that Trump won, meaning the GOP has their target set on him to flip the state red.

Independent Film ‘Burt’ Illuminates Parkinson’s Journey with Heartfelt Humor and Hope

0

In Los Angeles, a modestly budgeted film with a tight production schedule is shining a spotlight on the life of a real-life musician while also contributing to a charitable cause.

The film, titled “Burt,” centers around Burt Berger, a musician living with Parkinson’s disease. The creators of this project, Joe Burke and Oliver Cooper, first encountered Berger several years ago during one of his performances at a Malibu restaurant. Captivated by his story, they decided to bring it to the screen.

“He’s got a beautiful personality, a beautiful soul, and makes beautiful music,” Burke expressed. “Oliver and I immediately felt a connection with him. Over the years, I grew to know him, almost as if I were gathering material for a documentary. I kept wondering, ‘Who is this man?’ He moved to Los Angeles in 1974 to chase his musical dreams, but he never quite broke through, never recorded an album. When we filmed, he was 69, and I realized, ‘The world needs to meet Burt Berger.'”

Burke and Cooper not only co-wrote the screenplay but also co-produced the film, skillfully intertwining Berger’s true experiences with fictionalized storytelling.

Despite the constraints of a limited budget and a compressed timeline, the film successfully came to fruition.

“I said, ‘$7,000 is what I have to spend on this movie, can we do it?’ And he’s, like, ‘$7,000, seven days, let’s go!’” Cooper said

“And two months later, we were on set making the movie!” Burke added.

Cooper said the production operated with a very small crew.

“We only had a three-person crew. We had the sound guy, we had Joe running around second camera. Obviously, he’s not getting paid. And then we had our DP who was getting gas money,” Cooper said.

The film highlights both Berger’s life and his determination to continue creating music despite his diagnosis. A portion of the film’s proceeds will be donated to causes related to Parkinson’s disease.

“This is Burt, this is his story and he just happens to have Parkinson’s and he’s not going to let that define him,” Cooper said. “And he’s not going to let that beat him. And I think that’s the beauty of it.”

The film also reflects the filmmakers’ sense of accomplishment.

“We all want to feel like we did something that we can really hang our hat on. And I feel like with this movie, we finally did,” Burke said.

“I can die a happy man,” he added.

“Burt” is now available on digital, and its music, along with the film’s score, is expected to be released next month.
