NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Stands Firm on Rooney Rule Amid Pressure from Florida Attorney General

In a firm stance on the NFL’s diversity efforts, Commissioner Roger Goodell has made it clear that the league has no intention of discontinuing the Rooney Rule, despite recent challenges from Florida’s Attorney General. The controversy arose when the Attorney General claimed that the league’s guidelines for minority hiring are in conflict with Florida state law.

Addressing the media at the conclusion of the NFL league meetings, Goodell acknowledged the evolving political environment surrounding diversity and inclusion initiatives across the United States. However, he reaffirmed his belief that the NFL’s policies remain legally sound. “The Rooney Rule has been around a long time,” he stated. “We’ve evolved it, changed it. We’ll continue to do that.”

The Rooney Rule, which has been a cornerstone of the NFL’s approach to promoting diversity for 23 years, mandates that teams must interview at least two minority candidates for roles such as head coach, general manager, and coordinator positions. Additionally, at least one minority candidate must be considered for the quarterbacks coach position.

Last week, Florida’s Attorney General, James Uthmeier, expressed his concerns through a formal letter to Goodell, labeling the Rooney Rule as “blatant race and sex discrimination.” Despite this, Goodell remains committed to the rule, emphasizing its importance and the league’s ongoing dedication to evolving its diversity policies.

The Rooney Rule requires teams to interview at least two minority candidates for head coach, general manager and coordinator positions. At least one minority candidate must be interviewed for the quarterbacks coach position.

Goodell noted that similar diversity guidelines were used in other industries.

“One thing that doesn’t change is our values and we believe in diversity and its benefit to the National Football League,” Goodell said. “We are well aware of the laws and where the laws are changing and evolving. We think the Rooney Rule is consistent with those and we certainly will engage with the Florida AG or anybody else as we have in the past to talk about our policies.”

Goodell also expressed support for the NFL Accelerator Program, which is returning in May after a hiatus in 2025. The program is used to promote diversity in leadership roles, and was expanded to include candidates of all backgrounds this year.

First-year Atlanta Falcons GM Ian Cunningham said Monday that diversity should still be a priority for the league.

“Just from my position, especially being a Black man, there’s still work to be done,” Cunningham told The Associated Press. “Now that I’m in this position and have this platform, I’m going to be intentional about what we do from a grassroots effort to a director level.

“I do think it’s important to give people of all races and sexes a chance to be in a position to further their career.”

Preparing for replacement refs

The NFL’s competition committee approved a one-year rule for the upcoming season that would allow the replay center in New York to correct “clear and obvious mistakes made by on-field officials that impact the game” in case of a work stoppage involving the NFL Referees Association.

It was one of multiple rules changes announced Tuesday at the league’s annual meetings.

The league is moving forward with plans to begin hiring and training replacement officials in the next several weeks because negotiations with the referees’ union have been unsuccessful, two people with knowledge of the discussions have told The Associated Press. Both people spoke on condition of anonymity because the conversations are private.

The league and the NFL Referees Association have been negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement since the summer of 2024. The current CBA expires May 31.

“The negotiations haven’t progressed the way we hoped from a timing standpoint,” Goodell said Tuesday. “We obviously have obligations to fans and everyone in the National Football League to play. We’ll be prepared to play. We’re taking the appropriate steps to be ready, but we’re also keenly focused on negotiations.”

The NFL’s last foray into replacement officials ended in embarrassment for the league when a botched call and confusion in a prime-time game led to the end of a lockout that marred the first three weeks of the 2012 season.

More rules changes

Another rule change approved by owners allows the replay center in New York to consult with on-field officials when considering ejections for both flagrant football acts and non-football acts that weren’t called on the field.

The change comes after Pittsburgh receiver DK Metcalf wasn’t ejected from a game at Detroit last season when he got into an altercation with a heckling fan. Because the on-field officials didn’t see when Metcalf swiped at the fan and so didn’t throw a flag, the replay center was unable to eject Metcalf.

The league did suspend him for two games, but he was able to remain in the game at the time.

There were also three rules that affect kickoffs, including one that permits the kicking team to declare an onside kick at any time during the game, regardless of the score. Previously, only teams that were trailing or tied could attempt an onside kick.

Tisch update

Goodell said he has no plans to punish New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch under the league’s personal conduct policy after Tisch’s name appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files released by the U.S. Justice Department in January.

The NFL said in February that it would look into ties between Tisch and Epstein.

“As we’ve said, we’re going to follow facts,” Goodell said. “We have been doing that and we’re very focused on making sure we understand everything that’s out there. We’ve engaged with others to make sure we have that information.”

The team’s co-owners Steve, Laurie and Jonathan Tisch recently signaled their desire to transfer their shares of the NFL club to their children’s trusts.

According to a memo, the Tisch siblings would move the remaining 23.1% of the Giants that they still own to the trusts after completing previous transfers in 2023 and ’24. The memo states, “Following the transactions, the sellers will no longer own any interest in the club.”

Steve Tisch’s name came up more than 400 times in the files. Tisch at the time said he knew Epstein but denied going to his island.

Socceroos’ Rising Star Irankunda Shines in Dominant 5-1 Victory Over Curaçao

0

In Brief

  • The Socceroos thumped Curaçao 5-1 on Tuesday in their last home game before the FIFA World Cup in June.
  • Socceroos young gun Nestory Irankunda scored a brace in just five minutes after he was substituted on.

Nestory Irankunda is a rising star with immense potential and a flair for memorable goal celebrations, and he’s determined to make a significant impact with the Socceroos.

Coach Tony Popovic has high hopes for the young talent, noting that Irankunda is now better equipped than ever to reach his full potential.

The 20-year-old showcased his exceptional skills during a friendly match against Curaçao, where he delivered a stunning performance in just 25 minutes, scoring two goals in quick succession. Australia triumphed with a 5-1 victory.

Additional goals were netted by Awer Mabil, Alessandro Circati, and Jordan Bos, rounding out the impressive win.

Reflecting on his performance and being named player of the FIFA Series, Irankunda expressed his consistent drive: “I’m always focused, always want to make an impact, and always want to play well.”

“And he (Popovic) has the belief in me. And with his belief, I’m able to do what I do, which is score from open play now.

“You’ve seen it a lot now with the national team, I’m scoring from open play and not just from set pieces. So he gives me the confidence and it’s exciting to see.”

Irankunda wouldn’t buy into whether he would rather start than be a substitute.

Popovic dropped Irankunda, then a forward for Germany’s Bayern Munich, in November 2024 and made the then-teen sensation earn his spot.

Irankunda got to work during a loan stint at Switzerland’s Grasshopper Club Zurich and has thrived since moving to Watford in the UK.

“He’s a young man who’s just growing in maturity, not just on the field, but I think off the field,” Popovic said.

“He’s adapting, he’s learning. Very good young man. We’ve always had a good relationship, and we just want him to get better.

“And you can see today, when his mind is clear, he wants to contribute, whether that’s a start, whether it’s coming on, whether that’s coming on for one minute.

“And that’s progression, because maybe in October, November, his mind wasn’t so clear. And you can already see four or five months later, it’s normal. He’s young, he’s 20 years old. He’s a wonderful talent.

“We want him to be happy, want him to enjoy his football. We also wanted him to understand that he needs to work. Talent’s not enough. It never has been.”

Popovic believed Irankunda was starting to get to grips with the grunt work required.

“He wants to learn, he wants to get better at all aspects,” he said.

“And with good people around him, I think he can just keep growing and improving.”

Popovic was delighted with how Irankunda, best known for thumping long-range goals, created his goals — getting into the box and dribbling.

For the first goal, Irankunda dribbled through the Curaçao defence and finished at the near post.

He celebrated with a backflip, then caught a rhinestone glove thrown to him by a friend, put it on and danced like Michael Jackson.

Fellow attacker Riley McGree said: “He’s electric, he’s unpredictable, he’s everything you want from a young player.

“From the personality to the technical ability, the tactical ability, he can, in the attacking sense, do it all.

“He does have the world at his feet. I’m really excited to see where his career goes.”

Irankunda and his teammates are ready for the next step: at June’s World Cup.

The Socceroos will play Türkiye — who beat Kosovo 1-0 in their World Cup playoff final on Tuesday morning — in their World Cup opener, before taking on the United States and Paraguay.

“We have one goal, which is to achieve something great, achieve something that’s never been achieved before,” Irankunda said.

“We want to be that group that goes all the way and potentially wins the World Cup.

“No-one has the belief in us, obviously, but we have the belief in ourselves to go do something great.”

Wisconsin Mother Fatally Stabs Teen Daughter in Tragic Incident, Citing Protection from Elon Musk

0

In a shocking and tragic incident, a Wisconsin mother, believed to be under the influence of drugs, allegedly took the life of her 14-year-old daughter. She reportedly told police that her actions were meant to shield the child from billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk.

The woman, Tyiece Oninski, residing in the Town of Turtle, Rock County, reached out to the authorities on March 20. According to a criminal complaint referenced by WMTV, Oninski admitted to the murder of her daughter, Kuren Rein, which occurred the previous night, and also disclosed her subsequent suicide attempt.

During a 13-minute phone call to the police, Oninski claimed the motive behind the disturbing act was to “protect her from somebody else.” She later clarified that she believed she was protecting her daughter from Musk, as stated in the complaint.

In a harrowing twist, when asked by emergency responders if she required medical assistance, Oninski responded that what she truly needed was a hearse.

When she was asked if she needed an ambulance, Oninski said she needed a hearse instead.

“She’s dead, honey. She needs a hearse,” Oninski explained on the call.

Police responded to the home and found the teen girl dead from multiple stab wounds inside the home, and a knife and sheath were found nearby.

Oninski also had cuts to her neck and wrists from her suicide attempt.

Investigators also reported discovering a partial bare footprint inside the home, later finding that Oninski’s left foot was stained with what appeared to be blood.

Oninski was transported to the hospital and tested positive for benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and THC in her blood.

At one point, as she was in the hospital, she asked a deputy if her name was in the news, and was disappointed when she was told it was not.

A GoFundMe page started to support family members after the loss of the 14-year-old girl has raised more than $17,000 as of Tuesday night.

“We are coming together to support a young man who has just lost his sister in a devastating and unthinkable way at the hands of their own mother,” the fundraiser reads. “No one should have to face something like this, especially at such a young age. As he navigates this overwhelming grief, we want to ease the burden of funeral expenses so he can focus on healing and remembering his sister.”

“She was loved deeply and will be missed beyond measure. Her life mattered, and she deserves to be honored with dignity and care,” it added.

Tiger Woods’ Previous Surgeries Impact Sobriety Test Performance Post-Crash: A Detailed Analysis

Tiger Woods, celebrated as one of golf’s greatest players with 15 major championships to his name, encountered a serious accident near his home on Jupiter Island, Florida, on March 27, 2026. Reports from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Woods’ Land Rover collided with a trailer attached to a pickup truck, causing his vehicle to overturn. This incident led to his arrest under suspicion of driving under the influence after deputies noted signs of impairment. Although he tested negative for alcohol, Woods declined a urine test, and prescription pain medication was found on him, explaining why he performed some sobriety tests while seated.

Tiger Woods performed some of his sobriety tests seated on a patrol vehicle’s bumper following his March 2026 car crash

On that day, Tiger Woods’ vehicle accident unfolded dramatically as his Land Rover flipped on its side after hitting another vehicle on a residential street near his Florida residence, as reported by CNN. According to the arrest affidavit, Woods admitted to deputies that he was distracted by his phone and adjusting the car’s radio just before the crash. Despite having hydrocodone, a prescription painkiller, in his possession, a breathalyzer confirmed the absence of alcohol in his system.

Refusing the urine test resulted in an additional charge for Woods under Florida law. Consequently, he faced charges for DUI with property damage and refusal to comply with a lawful test. Woods has entered a plea of not guilty and has requested a jury trial.

The affidavit also revealed that some of Woods’ sobriety tests were conducted while he was seated on a patrol vehicle’s bumper, a consideration made due to his physical limitations from numerous surgeries. He has undergone seven back surgeries and over 20 operations on his leg.

Despite these accommodations, Woods reportedly struggled with the sobriety tests. The deputy on the scene observed that Woods repeatedly moved his head from side to side, needing reminders to keep it steady. Additionally, Woods appeared to be sweating heavily and experiencing hiccups during the evaluation.

Unfortunately, Woods reportedly made several errors during the sobriety tests. The deputy also noticed how Woods “continuously moved his head from side to side and had to be instructed several times to keep his head straight.” The legend was also reportedly sweating profusely and had hiccups.

The golf legend has a history of back and leg surgeries all the way up until 2025

Tiger Woods has had numerous leg surgeries throughout his golf career. According to Sports Illustrated, he had two benign tumors removed from his left knee in 1994. He’s also had surgeries to repair cartilage damage, have fluid removed, and repair his ACL through the years. In February 2021, he broke his right leg and ankle in a car accident. The surgery required the insertion of a rod into his tibia and screws and pins into his foot and ankle. Then, in 2023, Woods had ankle surgery once more.

As for Woods’ back, he had surgery on a pinched nerve in 2014. The following year, he had two microdiscectomy surgeries on his back to remove bone fragments. And the following month, he had yet another back surgery. In 2017, Woods underwent a spinal fusion. Then, in 2021, Woods had another microdiscectomy to remove a bone fragment that was resulting in a pinched nerve. The golf star underwent his seventh back surgery in October 2025 after a collapsed disc.

“After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in my back, I consulted with doctors and surgeons to have tests taken,” he posted to X in October 2025. “The scans determined that I had a collapsed disc in L4/5, disc fragments and a compromised spinal canal.”

“I have opted to have my disc replaced yesterday and I already know I made a good decision for my health and my back,” he continued.

In January 2026, he gave a health update following the surgery.

“I’ve been cleared to hit, basically, hit short irons and mid irons,” Woods told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, according to People. “I haven’t gone any beyond that. … Whenever that time comes, when I start hitting drivers, and I start playing at home, and start doing all the different things, I will have been away from the game for a year and a half, so I’m gonna be pretty rusty.”

Woods also admitted that he’d have to prep for competitions differently due to his age and past surgeries. “I’ve had to stay a lot more patient with myself,” he said. “I get sore faster, I guess, because I’m 50. And that happens.”

Police Report: Toddler Requires Dialysis After Severe Injuries, Parents Attribute to ‘Sleepwalking’ Incident

0

Left to right: Kami Nelson and Lee E. O’Donnell Jr. (Henry County Sheriff’s Office).

An Indiana mother and her partner face serious allegations of bringing a 3-year-old girl to the brink of death, purportedly inflicting such severe abuse that the child was left with bruises covering most of her body.

Court records indicate that Kami Nelson, 23, and Lee E. O’Donnell Jr., 25, have been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in catastrophic injury, as well as neglect leading to serious bodily harm.

The troubling case emerged after a distress call in the early hours of March 25, when authorities were summoned to an Airbnb on Broad Street in New Castle, following reports of a child found unresponsive, according to The Star Press reported.

First responders arrived to discover the toddler in a critical state, unclothed and struggling to breathe. Investigative reports detailed by the Star Press describe the child as being “black and blue with bruises nearly all over her bare body,” appearing to be the victim of a brutal beating, as per the probable cause affidavit.

Despite the dire scene, emergency crews administered vital medical interventions before transporting the girl to a nearby hospital. She was subsequently flown to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where medical professionals confirmed the injuries were significantly more severe than initially assessed.

Medical staff reported the child was “critically ill” and “in shock” after suffering severe abdominal trauma that required emergency surgery, The Courier-Times reported. According to hospital findings, the girl sustained lacerations and tears to her intestines, internal bleeding, and acute kidney injury requiring dialysis.

“The report indicated there were no signs of a medical condition contributing to these nor is there a medical condition that would cause spontaneous injury to the intestines as seen in Juvenile Victim 1,” investigators wrote in the affidavit.

“Without medical intervention, these findings would likely have been fatal and Juvenile Victim 1 still remains in critical condition with a guarded prognosis. The only accidental history provided at this time by caregivers is that the child sleepwalks, which would not be consistent with these abdominal injuries,” the document continued. “At this time, Juvenile Victim 1’s overall constellation of findings including . . . diffuse bruising, soft tissue injuries, and abdominal injuries is characteristic of non accidental/inflicted trauma (child physical abuse).”

As detectives began piecing together what led to the injuries, Nelson allegedly had initially told police her daughter had been sleepwalking and may have been “walking into door handles and similar items.” She also claimed the child had been sick and vomiting in the days leading up to the incident and said she delayed seeking medical care because she had just started a new job and lacked insurance.

O’Donnell, who had been caring for the children while Nelson worked, reportedly gave a starkly different account while showing “little to no emotion” during his interview with detectives.

He told investigators Nelson had a volatile temper and described her as a “manipulative liar,” alleging she would become physical with the child “once a day, multiple times a day sometimes.” He also claimed he witnessed her strike the child and grab her face while she was eating.

According to investigators, O’Donnell admitted he was reluctant to report the alleged abuse “because I don’t want to end up homeless.”

Nelson, for her part, initially denied O’Donnell could have caused the injuries but later changed her account, telling police she believed he may have been responsible and was trying to “save himself.”

Authorities said both suspects ultimately blamed one another for the child’s condition.

Investigators also uncovered additional troubling details inside the rental home and reportedly found drug paraphernalia and a second young child staying at the residence at the time.

O’Donnell was arrested after allegedly failing to appear for a scheduled polygraph test on March 27. He was stopped on Interstate 70 later that day and taken into custody. Nelson was arrested the same day the child was discovered.

The toddler reportedly remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries while both defendants are being held in the Henry County Jail on $191,000 surety bonds, records show. They are scheduled to return to court for pretrial hearings on June 11.

Paddleboarding Police Successfully Apprehend Suspect in Thrilling Aquatic Pursuit

0

A dramatic pursuit unfolded in Florida when a man attempting to evade police jumped into a river, only to be captured by officers on paddleboards.

The incident took place on March 16 when Florida police approached Chase Cruz regarding alleged trespassing at a vacant property. Cruz, rather than cooperating, took off on foot, as detailed in an arrest affidavit obtained by Oxygen. He dashed through several backyards until he reached the banks of the Halifax River.

While one officer pursued him on land, two others quickly commandeered surfboards from Volusia County Beach Safety and paddled out to intercept him, according to the affidavit.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office shared dramatic footage on Instagram, capturing the moment officers surrounded Cruz in the water. The video showed him floating with his arms extended in a gesture of surrender.

Before being secured to a paddleboard and brought back to shore, Cruz reportedly pleaded with the officers, saying, “Don’t hurt me,” as noted in the affidavit.

Chase was booked into the Volusia County Division of Corrections and charged with loitering or prowling and obstructing an officer without violence. He was released on March 29.

The 28-year-old acknowledged that he was wrong, police noted in the doc, and “agreed to accept the consequences of his actions.” Chase formally pleaded no contest, according to court records viewed by Oxygen, and he was sentenced to 15 days in jail (with credit for five days served) and 15 hours of community service.

Chase alleged he is homeless and had been sleeping in his car at the vacant residence for two days, per the affidavit, adding that a neighbor assured him that he wouldn’t be bothered there. Chase said, per the affidavit, that he ran because he is afraid of the police.

An attorney for Chase did not immediately reply to a request for comment from Oxygen.

Shocking Turn of Events: Texas Man Accused in Chilling Murder of Missing Girlfriend

0

A man from Texas is facing murder charges following the alleged killing of his girlfriend, whose body is believed to have been discarded in Oklahoma. This tragic case has drawn considerable attention as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to her disappearance.

Molly Richards vanished in November 2025, triggering an investigation by the Little Elm Police Department. Concern for Molly’s wellbeing arose when her father, Steven Richards, reported her missing, according to a report from WFAA.

The last communication Steven Richards received from his daughter was in November, when Molly informed him via text message that she and her boyfriend, Christopher Charles Sanders, were planning a trip to South Dakota. In a subsequent message on December 1, she mentioned checking into a mental health facility to address her bipolar disorder. After these messages, Molly went silent, and repeated attempts by her father to contact Sanders yielded no response.

As investigators delved deeper, they discovered that Molly’s vehicle had been involved in a minor accident in South Dakota during November. A local witness recounted that Sanders had requested him to keep an eye on Molly’s vehicle while he purportedly took her to a doctor in Rapid City. This witness also noted that Sanders had left his own vehicle at a hotel and flown back to Texas, only to return a week later to retrieve his car.

Sanders reportedly shared with the witness that Molly had met someone in Deadwood and expressed a desire to remain with this person in Rapid City. As the investigation continues, authorities are striving to uncover the truth behind Molly Richards’ disappearance and the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.

Little Elm Police said in the affidavit that they checked motels, hotels, hospitals, and mental health facilities in the area but found no mention of Richards. They obtained a search warrant for her car and said they found a strong odor of cleaning products inside.

Then, the affidavit said, Richards’ phone, which had been off for weeks, reactivated and pinged near Sanders’ home. Less than a week later, a woman who was watching Sanders’ dogs at his home found several items belonging to her, including her driver’s license, bank and credit cards, a laptop, and unopened mail.

After that, investigators began watching Sanders and eventually executed search warrants on properties he owned in Denton and Little Elm. That’s when they found bedding with blood residue on it and a receipt from Lowe’s for the purchase of a bow saw, 10 five-gallon buckets, a tamper, a reciprocating saw, and gloves. The tools were not found.

Authorities say they believe Richards was killed around November 25, The Independent reported.

Sanders was arrested on March 7 in Marietta, Oklahoma, as he was returning to Texas from South Dakota. Sanders also owns property there, and investigators say they reconstructed the route of his vehicle as he traveled through Oklahoma en route to South Dakota on November 27.

They found he was near his property in Marietta for a little over an hour and believe he likely disposed of Richards’ body on or near his property during that time, the affidavit said.

Sanders has since been returned to Texas and is being held without bail.

Unlock Full-Body Strength in Just 7 Minutes with This Standing Workout for Those Over 60

0

A fitness expert has unveiled a brief standing exercise routine that promises to boost strength faster than traditional gym workouts.

For individuals over 60, achieving full-body strength doesn’t hinge on extended gym sessions, but rather on executing the right movements with purposeful intention. Through years of coaching older adults, I’ve observed that significant results stem not from prolonged gym time, but from targeting key muscle groups with precise exercises. These exercises simultaneously enhance strength, balance, and coordination, prompting a swift response from the body.

Extended workouts often lead to exhaustion before muscles undergo sufficient targeted engagement necessary for growth. In contrast, concise standing routines ensure that the body remains active from beginning to end. This approach eliminates unnecessary downtime and focuses on continuous muscle activation, fostering strength where it’s most beneficial.

Moreover, standing exercises mimic natural body movements, reinforcing posture, stability, and control. They effectively strengthen the legs, core, and upper body in unison, resulting in quicker improvements in daily activities such as lifting, walking, and stair climbing.

Standing exercises also train the body the way it moves in real life. Every rep reinforces posture, stability, and control while strengthening the legs, core, and upper body together. That combination delivers faster carryover into everyday activities like lifting, walking, and climbing stairs.

This 7-minute routine uses three movements performed back-to-back to create constant muscle engagement. Each exercise lasts just over two minutes. Stay tall, move with control, and focus on squeezing the working muscles during every rep. Done consistently, this routine builds real, usable strength in less time than most gym workouts.

Minutes 0–2:20 — Squat to Reach

This movement combines lower-body strength with upper-body activation, making it one of the most efficient full-body exercises I use. I rely on this with clients who want to rebuild strength without overcomplicating their routine. The squat targets the quads and glutes, while the overhead reach engages the shoulders and core.

The key here involves control. Dropping too quickly into the squat reduces effectiveness. Slow, steady movement keeps the muscles under tension and forces the core to stabilize as the arms reach overhead. That combination builds strength through multiple muscle groups at once.

How to Do It

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Lower into a squat with control
  • As you stand, reach both arms overhead
  • Keep your core tight and chest lifted
  • Return arms down and repeat.

Minutes 2:20–4:40 — Standing Row With Squeeze (No Equipment Variation)

This exercise targets the upper back and arms while reinforcing posture. I include this movement because many adults lose upper-back strength, which affects everything from posture to lifting ability. Even without weights, this movement builds strength through intentional muscle contraction.

Pulling the elbows back and squeezing the shoulder blades forces the upper back to engage. Holding that squeeze for a second increases time under tension and improves muscle activation. Over time, this strengthens the muscles that support the shoulders and spine.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with arms extended in front
  • Pull elbows back as if rowing
  • Squeeze shoulder blades together
  • Pause briefly at the back
  • Return slowly and repeat.

Minutes 4:40–7:00 — Alternating Reverse Step and Drive

This final movement ties together lower-body strength, balance, and coordination. I use this often because it builds power in the legs while challenging stability, which becomes critical after 60. The step back activates the glutes, while the knee drive reinforces balance and core strength.

Moving slowly keeps the muscles engaged and prevents momentum from taking over. Each step back and drive forward should feel controlled and deliberate. That’s where the strength gains happen.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Step one foot backward lightly
  • Return to standing and drive the knee forward
  • Keep your core tight and posture upright
  • Alternate sides continuously.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Criticizes Fox News, Accusing Network of ‘Brainwashing’ Older Viewers

0

In a sharp critique aimed at Fox News, former Donald Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene has accused the network of spreading pro-war propaganda, following their Sunday afternoon coverage. Greene, who once represented Georgia in Congress, expressed her discontent on the social media platform X, declaring, “Fox News is now the fake news. Brainwashing boomers to support what we voted against.”

Her comments came as a response to a post by Ann Coulter, another former Trump supporter turned critic. Coulter had voiced her own frustrations with the network’s portrayal of the ongoing conflict, stating, “Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner.”

Coulter’s remarks alluded to the controversy surrounding Dominion Voting Systems. In 2023, Fox News settled a lawsuit with the company for $787 million. This settlement came after several hosts on the network had given airtime to Trump’s debunked claims that the 2020 election was “stolen,” alleging Dominion machines were involved in the supposed fraud.

‘Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner,’ Coulter claimed.

The quip was a nod to the voting machine company the network settled with in 2023 for $787 million. At the time, several Fox hosts’ platformed Trump’s disproven theory the 2020 election was ‘stolen’ and that Dominion machines played a part.

Coulter – a former Fox regular – fell out with the president roughly eight years ago over what was then framed as Trump’s failure to deliver on his border wall.

Greene, 51, split with the conservative early this year over the case surrounding convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

She resigned in January after publicly disagreeing with how the administration handled the release of Epstein-related documents.

The rift continued this month with disagreements on foreign policy and foreign aid, following the US’s initial strikes on Iran on February 28. More than four weeks of fighting followed, resulting in a significant spike in oil prices.

‘Americans don’t give a damn about Trump building a WH ballroom or renovating the Kennedy Center as they are paying $4+ dollars per gallon for gas and nearly $6 for diesel because of another pointless foreign war,’ Greene wrote on X Thursday as a result.

‘Don’t lecture your voters that you have to vote for them when you have intentionally failed and betrayed your campaign promises just because the other side is intolerable. Screw you.’

‘You betray Americans, you put Americans last, you deserve to lose, you don’t deserve support. Many Americans are learning to live without the system and want nothing to do with any of it,’ Greene added.

The post immediately racked up more than 500,000 views as well as a response from the White House.

‘There is nothing more “America Last” than quitting on your constituents and the MAGA movement in the middle of your term,’ White House spokesperson David Ingle told Fox News.

‘President Trump is fighting every single day to Make America Great Again – we don’t have time for quitters.’

Greene – who was one of Trump’s earliest and most staunch supporters – resigned right in the midst of a two-year term, months after being re-elected for a second time.

Megyn Kelly, another former pro-Trump firebrand, also turned on the conservative in recent weeks over what she framed as a failure to adhere to the promised ‘America First’ policies that got him elected.

‘My own feeling is no one should have to die for a foreign country. I don’t think those four service members died for the United States,’ the former Fox News star said of Israel on March 8.

She also took aim at an on-air exchange between Maria Bartiromo and Sen. Lindsey Graham where the latter talked up the military strikes in Iran and said Cuba was ‘next.’ Kelly called the latter ‘bloodthirsty’ and criticized Fox for granting him clout.

Netanyahu and Graham, meanwhile, met earlier this year during Graham’s trip to the Middle East to exchange plans for getting Trump onboard with attacking Iran, Graham himself told The Wall Street Journal earlier in the month.

Fox News and other networks, meanwhile, continue to cover the conflict, which has left at least 13 U.S. service members dead and killed 1,500 Iranians, many of them children.

Global oil markets have been battered by Iran’s strategy of barricading the Strait of Hormuz – a small body of water between Iran and Oman through which roughly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply flows.

Global markets are expected to weaken as the conflict continues.

Trump on Sunday night announced Iran had agreed to allow 20 more oil cargo ships to pass through the strait – a development he called a ‘sign of respect.’

The Daily Mail has approached Fox News for comment.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will address the nation tonight in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the fuel crisis.

Prime Minister Albanese is expected to present Australia’s strategy for addressing the ongoing conflict and its effects on fuel availability, along with ways that Australians can contribute to the efforts.

His special address is scheduled for 7 PM AEDT and will be broadcast live across all television and radio networks. Viewers can also tune in via the stream at the top of this page or on 9news.com.au.

This address offers the Prime Minister an opportunity to explain the government’s fuel plan and to alleviate public anxiety regarding the situation in the Middle East, according to Charles Croucher, Nine’s chief political editor.

“Such addresses are relatively rare,” remarked Croucher. “They usually occur during significant national events or crises.”

“It reminds me of the historic moment when Robert Menzies solemnly informed Australians that the nation was entering World War II,” he added.

Croucher said the timing of this national address is important.

This is the last opportunity for Albanese to address Australia before the Easter break and, in many states, school holidays.

“The next two weeks should also see the [Middle East] conflict end, according to President Trump, and it will see a pinch point for the pressure on [oil] supply,” Croucher said.

He doubts Albanese will make any major announcements, such as fuel rationing, and said it’s more likely the prime minister will share a plan for the nation moving forward.

The last time a prime minister gave a nation address of this scale was during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Scott Morrison spoke to the people of Australia on the evening of Thursday, March 12 as borders slammed shut and the country went into the first of many lockdowns.

He outlined government plans to manage the impacts of the virus and reassured Aussies that “we are well prepared and are well equipped to deal with it”.

About 12 years prior, Kevin Rudd addressed the nation regarding the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) of 2008.

“I have absolute confidence that as a nation, we will get through these tough times together,” he concluded his address.

Tonight, Albanese will deliver his own national address while across the globe, US President Donald Trump prepares to do the same.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed today that he will “provide an important update on Iran” at 9pm on Wednesday local time (midday Thursday in Australia).

Leavitt’s announcement came just hours after Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that US forces could leave Iran in “two or three weeks”.
