Senator Unveils Secret COVID-Era Texts from Dr. Fauci’s Phone

0

In a startling development on Capitol Hill, Republican Senators have unveiled a trove of COVID-era text messages from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s government-issued cellphone. This release, made public on Monday, has captured widespread attention.

Senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul disclosed a selection of messages dated January 25 and 26, 2021. These texts delve into discussions surrounding the COVID vaccine, specifically concerning its effects on pregnant women.

The exchanges involved prominent figures: Dr. Fauci, Rochelle Walensky—then director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention—and Vivek Murthy, the former Surgeon General of the United States. Their conversation highlights pivotal health concerns of the time.

A particularly eye-opening text from the released collection shows Fauci expressing worry in January 2021. He noted that the second COVID vaccine dose might, at least theoretically, be linked to miscarriages during the first trimester.

The senators emphasized the extensive nature of the data, revealing that Fauci’s device holds an impressive cache of over 34,000 text messages and 522 voicemails. This discovery underscores the depth of communication involved during the pandemic’s critical period.

‘Oddly, only three contacts are listed; all other text messages are identified only with phone numbers rather than contact names. It is too early to determine whether any data has been deleted,’ the duo noted in a Monday press release.

Johnson has requested transcribed interviews with the infamous COVID-19 doctor, as well as other Food and Drug Administration officials.

Johnson alleges that senior FDA officials ignored warnings that the agency’s COVID-19 vaccine safety monitoring system was failing to detect potential safety signals.

The closed-door transcribed interview process is what the House Oversight Committee has been using in the Epstein investigations. Information obtained has been released to the general public within days of the interviews.

Johnson is requesting that Fauci appear before his committee to ‘provide much-needed transparency about the COVID-19 pandemic and the government’s response to it, including early treatments and the development, deployment, safety monitoring, and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines.’

Fauci appeared before the Senate for a bombshell hearing last month, during which he invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times under questioning from Senators. He was found by Paul’s committee to be in contempt of Congress. Paul later referred the contempt vote to the Department of Justice.

During his opening statements on Capitol Hill in last month’s hearing, Fauci accused Paul of having an ‘unhinged obsession’ with him.

And several moments went off the rails.

Republican Senator Bernie Moreno called Fauci a ‘total disgrace,’ also noting that he felt compelled to run for office six years ago when he saw a story of a mom being arrested while watching a football game outside with her family, due to breaking guidelines issued by governments based on Fauci’s advice.

‘Who the f**k do you think you were for doing that? It was a total disgrace to this country, and if my Democrat colleagues are standing there defending you, I hope the voters of the United States of America have watched clips of every one of them building a guy who was more interested in being a celebrity than doing his job,’ he exclaimed.

Fauci’s lead attorney, David Schertler, was also removed by security from the hearing after trying to speak on his client’s behalf.

‘I didn’t invite you here to testify,’ Paul told him, before ordering guards to eject him.

Senator Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, later read out a statement from Schertler accusing Paul of running something other than ‘a serious effort to seek information’. The Republican, it said, has ‘built a personal brand’ around his pursuit of the doctor.

Paul hit back that in no courtroom in America can a witness plead the Fifth and then have his lawyer testify for him.

‘The attorney is complaining and testifying, saying you didn’t do it. The prosecution is unfair. You don’t get to do that,’ he said. ‘That’s one thing you give up when you take the Fifth Amendment and say I’m not going to testify.”He was not invited to testify, he was out of order, and it was appropriate to have him ejected,’ Paul told the room of attendees and reporters at the hearing.

Fauci’s personal diaries were released by Paul last month, showing how he delighted in his interactions with celebrities as America went through the death throes of the early pandemic.

Katie Couric Applauds Tucker Carlson & Megyn Kelly’s Impact

0

Longtime NBC and CBS host Katie Couric paid a surprise compliment to Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson for both of their independent journalism careers on Sunday. Couric, 69, singled out the former Fox News stars after being asked who was 'building a promising independent media operation that can actually last' by Status . The veteran journalist praised both for being not only 'successful' but 'entrepreneurial.' 'When you talk to them, they feel very liberated by their ability to make decisions quickly, to not have to deal with the bureaucracy,' she said. Couric also criticized the current state of network news, conceding her old employers have been 'less relevant' and 'slow to adapt'. Couric enjoyed a stint at ABC as well. The former 60 Minutes correspondent concluded that 'corporate ownership and journalistic integrity don’t always align,' before taking a shot at CBS directly. 'The stories coming out of “60 Minutes” about trying to direct the storytelling in a way that is less offensive to the administration or that fudges the truth is a total embarrassment,' she said.

In a surprising move, longtime television icon Katie Couric has lauded Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson for their strides in independent journalism. Couric, now 69, specifically highlighted these former Fox News personalities during a conversation with Status, when asked about media innovators who might have lasting impact. She extended her praise, calling their ventures not just “successful,” but also “entrepreneurial.” According to Couric, they relish the freedom that comes with autonomy, unburdened by bureaucratic chains. Reflecting on her former network news homes, Couric expressed disappointment, acknowledging that networks like NBC and CBS have become “less relevant” and slow to evolve. Couric herself had also experienced a brief tenure at ABC. Critically assessing the network news landscape, she remarked on the frequent clashes between corporate ownership and journalistic integrity, particularly calling out recent trends at CBS. She labeled the attempts at steering narratives on ’60 Minutes’ to align with political interests as “embarrassing.”

Couric Warns of Corporate Influence in News

'It’s hard to measure, but there is probably some anticipatory obedience, if you will.' Couric clarified that she does not think this obedience - to Donald Trump and the administration - is 'everywhere.' 'There’s still very good reporting being done.' 'But when corporate interests are trying to achieve something with the administration’s blessing, it’s hard for the news organizations to be completely independent and liberated to report and to seek out the truth,' she added. Couric worked at CBS News for roughly half-a-decade. At the time, she was the highest-paid news anchor in the world and worked on both Evening News and 60 Minutes. 'From everything I’ve read about the reporters who were fired, some of the stories behind the scenes were very troubling,' she said of the latter's current state.

‘Although it’s difficult to quantify, there’s likely a degree of what one might call anticipatory obedience,’ Couric noted, differentiating that the obedience isn’t ubiquitous across media. She maintained that “good reporting” is still prevalent. However, she pointed out the challenge for news outlets striving for independence when corporate interests push for administrative approval. During Couric’s time with CBS News, where she spearheaded the Evening News along with contributions to 60 Minutes, she became the world’s highest-paid news anchor. Currently, Couric expressed her concern regarding the controversial reports of numerous firings at 60 Minutes, referencing troubling behind-the-scenes stories that emerged following these layoffs.

A slew of firings hit 60 Minutes on May 28 at the behest of CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss, who was appointed by then-new Paramount CEO David Ellison in October. Couric said she viewed Ellison's ownership of CBS News as 'very concerning', due to the 43-year-old father's well-known support for Trump. Ellison is the son of conservative billionaire Larry Ellison, and his former company, Skydance, acquired Paramount last year days after CBS settled a $16 million lawsuit filed against the network by Trump. Claims of bribery and political slant ensued. 60 Minutes' former top executive Bill Owens paved the way for the allegations by publicly accusing Paramount of already interfering with the show's journalistic integrity while the merger was in limbo, before resigning in protest in April 2025. Paramount is now set to acquire the parent company of CNN, Warner Bros. Discovery, as well. 'Having control of too many media outlets is not a good thing. It’s cause for concern how they’re going to manage CNN and who’s going to be in charge there,' Couric said.

A dramatic series of dismissals hit 60 Minutes on May 28, driven by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss, who took on the role under fresh leadership from Paramount CEO David Ellison in October. Couric expressed worry over Ellison’s stewardship of CBS News due to his known alignment with Trump. The connection isn’t merely circumstantial; Ellison is the offspring of conservative billionaire Larry Ellison, whose former enterprise, Skydance, bought Paramount shortly after CBS resolved a $16 million lawsuit involving Trump. Accusations of bias and bribery circulated amidst the controversy. Bill Owens, a prior leading executive at 60 Minutes, fueled these concerns by openly accusing Paramount of meddling in the show’s journalistic integrity before resigning in protest in April 2025. Paramount’s looming acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN’s parent company, adds another layer of complexity. Couric emphasized the dangers of media consolidation, voicing apprehension over how these shifts might reshape CNN’s leadership.

'I think it’s unclear at this juncture, so I’m taking a wait-and-see attitude right now. But anytime there’s massive consolidation, it’s not good for journalists, and it’s definitely not good for viewers, in my opinion.' As for the changes specifically at 60 Minutes, Couric said she was also waiting. 'It will be interesting to see how the program coalesces around new hires,' she said. 'We’ll see if the quality of the reporting and the quality of the pieces are still there.' Scott Pelley - previously Couric's CBS Evening News replacement - Cecilia Vega, Sharilyn Alfonsi, and Anderson Cooper have all exited the program in recent months, with the latter the only one going willingly. Cooper - a CNN anchor since 2001 - left his longtime 60 Minutes gig last May as his contract expired. Cooper privately told colleagues he does not want to work for Weiss, according to a report from The New York Times published in June about CNN parent Warner's looming merger with Paramount.

“At this juncture, outcomes remain uncertain, prompting me to adopt a wait-and-see approach,” Couric said of the unprecedented media mergers. She warned of the potentially adverse effects large-scale consolidations could have on journalists and audiences alike. regarding the developments at 60 Minutes, Couric is cautiously observing how the program adapts with its new additions. “Time will reveal if the reporting quality and substance match previous standards,” she added. A notable string of exits—Scott Pelley, Cecilia Vega, Sharilyn Alfonsi, and Anderson Cooper—have left the program in recent months, with Cooper being the only one to leave by choice. After serving as a CNN anchor since 2001, Cooper opted out of renewing his 60 Minutes contract last May, reportedly due to reluctance to work under Weiss, as suggested by a June New York Times report concerning the fusion of Warner with Paramount.

CBS Source Pushes Back

A CBS source pushed back on Couric's categorization of CBS News, pointing out how Weiss already oversaw 60 Minutes last season and that it included a number of pieces critical of the Trump Administration. Segments set around the impact of SNAP cuts on rural Americans, the administration's attacks and threats on the federal judiciary, and the impact of tariffs on family farms were indeed aired during Weiss's first year. Couric, meanwhile, was replaced by Pelley at CBS Evening News back in 2011. She famously anchored the Today show throughout the 90s and early 2000s. She launched Katie Couric Media in 2017 and now runs a popular podcast. The Daily Mail approached CBS News for comment.

A source from CBS, however, countered Couric’s depiction of CBS News, arguing that under Weiss, 60 Minutes has showcased pieces openly critical of the Trump administration. Segments highlighting issues such as the effects of SNAP cuts on rural communities, judicial conflict, and tariff impacts on family farms aired during Weiss’s initial year. Couric, meanwhile, was succeeded by Pelley at CBS Evening News back in 2011. Widely known for her tenure on the Today show in the 90s and early 2000s, she launched Katie Couric Media in 2017, expanding her influence through a successful podcast. The Daily Mail reached out for CBS News’s perspective on these assertions.

Tragic Colombia Building Collapse Captured on Camera Amid Devastating Earthquake

0

A chilling video has surfaced, capturing the dramatic collapse of a building after a devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake rocked western Colombia on Monday. The powerful quake leveled structures across numerous cities, claiming at least 73 lives as the death toll climbed and many were trapped beneath the debris.

In the footage, the building succumbs to the tremors as onlookers watch in shock, their screams filling the air just moments before the structure gives way entirely.

Colombia’s geological service reported the earthquake’s magnitude at 7.4, occurring at a depth of 96 kilometers (approximately 60 miles). According to the U.S. tsunami warning system, there is no threat of a tsunami.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on X, “The Trump Administration is closely monitoring the large earthquake that struck Colombia and stands ready to support the people of Colombia and President @ABDELAESPRIELLA’s Administration.”

“American citizens in Colombia should enroll at http://STEP.State.gov and follow @USEmbassyBogota’s social media accounts for the latest information.”

The highest reported death toll was in Pereira, a city in Colombia’s coffee-growing region, where Mayor Mauricio Salazar said 18 people had died. In nearby Manizales, Mayor Jorge Eduardo Rojas said three people were killed.

One person died in Buenaventura, Colombia’s main Pacific port, when a building collapsed, trapping several people, Mayor Ligia del Carmen Cordoba said.

People remained trapped in Cali, one of Colombia’s largest cities, after more than two dozen structures collapsed, Mayor Alejandro Eder said. He added that the city had asked authorities in Bogota and Medellin to send disaster teams to support rescue efforts.

“At this point, two people have already been rescued alive, one elderly woman and one young girl. There are more people trapped,” Eder told Blu Radio. “We have at least 12 critical points and 25 collapsed structures that we are responding to.”

The quake’s epicenter was near San Jose del Palmar, in Choco, a sparsely populated province on Colombia’s Pacific coast. Choco Governor Nubia Carolina Cordoba-Curi said there were injuries and significant damage in Quibdo, the provincial capital, and warned residents about aftershocks.

Colombia’s civil aviation authority said flights were suspended at airports in Pereira, Manizales, Quibdo, Armenia, Cartago and Buenaventura while inspectors checked for structural damage.

The country’s disaster agency said the quake, which occurred at 7:34 local time (8:34 ET), was felt in nine departments and all 32 departmental capitals, triggering evacuations and reports of damage.

Martha Stewart is stepping into a new look that’s as fresh as a rose.

The lifestyle icon, alongside her trusted hairstylist Chris Appleton, revealed a delightful hair transformation on Sunday evening, captivating fans with a surprising pop of color.

Stewart maintained her classic bob but opted for a charming shade of pink that refreshed her renowned look.

Their Instagram post, captioned with a playful nod, “Rose gold …. It’s a good thing 🌹✨,” showcased both Stewart with her new hue and Appleton, who joined the fun with a pink Yankees cap, adding to the rosy theme.

The transformation was met with enthusiastic responses in the comments, including a notable mention from Chrishell Stause, who declared the style as “Pink Chíc🌸.”

“It makes her look about 30 years younger, I love how it looks on her😍,” one fan said while another wrote, “Love love love this colour.. and this is definitely how to ‘glow older’”.

Appleton used Schwarzkopf Professional products to achieve the shade, which they called in a press release “a soft, luminous pink with warm golden undertones that gives Martha’s blond a playful refresh while still feeling polished and wearable.”

And she’s certainly feeling playful, though it’s unclear how long homemaker icon plans to keep her pinky ‘do.

Last week, Stewart covered People Magazine, sharing that although she’s not afraid to switch up her signature style, she maintains she has “not had any plastic surgery at all.”

Judging by the comments raving over her youthful look, whatever she’s doing is working.

Trump Tightens Immigration Grip by Cancelling 175,000 Visas

0

Officials on Monday unveiled that the Trump administration has revoked over 175,000 visas belonging to foreign nationals.

The sweep was justified by authorities pointing to alleged issues with document compliance, associations with unlawful activities, and the incitement of violence aimed at Americans.

According to State Department officials, most cancellations arose from ‘law enforcement encounters,’ a rationale that has stirred criticism from the legal community.

Immigration lawyers voice concerns that these visa removals might be based on minor police interactions or unfounded accusations that have not been legally resolved in court.

The State Department detailed that many visas were revoked due to interactions with law enforcement over various alleged criminal activities, particularly citing assault, driving under the influence, theft, and drug-related offenses. Additional reasons included reckless driving, sexual assault, fraud, child abuse, and other crimes.

Government officials are characterizing the widespread cancellations ‘as a result of the State Department’s continuous vetting operations, which ensure that visa recipients abide by the terms of their visa and do not endanger Americans.’

‘Under President Trump and Secretary Rubio’s leadership, the State Department will continue to identify, investigate, and revoke the visas of foreign nationals who threaten the safety of the American people,’ part of the statement reads.

The latest figures show a sharp spike in visa cancellations year-over-year, with officials now averaging upward of 10,000 revocations monthly in 2026.

By comparison, the government voided roughly 8,000 visas across the entirety of 2025 – a figure mirrored in a January report from the Trump administration detailing more than 100,000 cancellations over the preceding 12-month period.

Among the most notable cases is Tou Lue Vang, a 42-year-old father of six who the Department of Homeland Security expelled to Laos last month.

While Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had granted Vang a pardon just weeks prior for a 2005 child sexual abuse conviction, the State Department confirmed his removal was executed on ‘foreign policy grounds.’

Additional people ousted on ‘foreign policy grounds’ include Cuban citizens linked to their country’s communist government, Iranian nationals in the US associated with Tehran’s leadership and a Kuwaiti citizen who the State Department said ‘wished for violence against’ the president and labeled Americans his ‘enemy.’

State Department officials also cited broad enforcement actions against ‘multiple foreign nationals who celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk,’ the conservative activist killed in September 2025.

Additionally, officials confirmed that a US diplomatic post in North Africa canceled over 100 visas targeting ‘birth tourist’ parents who allegedly traveled to America with the main objective of giving birth so their newborns would become US citizens.

President Trump issued a pair of executive directives just last week targeting birth tourism and ending automatic citizenship for children born to foreign diplomats stationed in the US.

The move targets non-citizens who journey to America specifically to deliver babies that qualify for US citizenship.

‘They’re buying their way in, and we’re not going to let it happen,’ Trump declared during an Oval Office presentation on the measures, adding, ‘We’re making adjustments because it’s very unfair.’

Expected to prompt swift court battles, the directives mark the administration’s latest effort to reshape 14th Amendment birthright guarantees.

The action comes on the heels of a late June Supreme Court ruling that blocked a previous attempt by the Trump administration to restrict citizenship for kids born on American soil to non-citizen parents.

Deadly Flesh-Eating Bacteria Vibrio Vulnificus Spreads Alarming Surge in Southern States

0

A lethal bacteria lurking in coastal waters has claimed the lives of five residents in Louisiana this year, marking a concerning rise during the summer months.

With this alarming increase, state health officials are warning beach enthusiasts to protect themselves against Vibrio vulnificus. This particularly hazardous strain of Vibrio bacteria can lead to drastic and dangerous health complications, including severe gastrointestinal issues, infections in wounds, or even blood poisoning.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) highlights the gravity of this threat, noting that approximately 20% of those infected succumb to the illness, sometimes within just 24 to 48 hours.

The bacteria thrive in coastal waters, with their concentrations peaking between May and October when higher water temperatures create an ideal environment for proliferation.

The Louisiana Department of Health reports that this year, nine cases have necessitated hospitalization. This figure starkly contrasts with the previous decade’s annual average of seven cases and one fatality during the same timeframe.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Vibrio vulnificus as the surge continues.

How do people get Vibrio vulnificus?

Vibrio vulnificus is most often contracted by eating raw or undercooked shellfish, particularly oysters, the CDC reports.

Infection can also occur when an open wound such as an unhealed cut or scrape, recent piercing or tattoo, comes in contact with coastal waters. These include salt water and brackish water, a mixture of salt and fresh water. The bacteria is often found where rivers meet the ocean.

Florida historically reports the most Vibrio vulnificus cases in the US, with hurricanes and other sever weather increasing exposure risk from floodwaters and standing water. Florida has reported 14 cases and 2 deaths this year, compared with 33 cases and five deaths last year.

In 2025, Basil Kennedy, 77, fell ill after he scraped his leg on a boat trailer. He cleaned and bandaged the wound and never entered the water, but was hospitalized when his health suddenly and sharply declined, Fox 8 Live reported.

“His leg started to slowly swell,” his daughter told Fox 8 Live. “Then, it became a little bit red, and it was like, ‘OK, something’s not right here.’ But then, once it really took hold in the leg, I mean we were just watching it swell, blister, fluid — everything you expect from the flesh-eating bacteria.”

Kennedy died three days after the incident.

Anyone can get Vibrio vulnificus, but severe cases are highest among elderly people and people who:

  • Have liver disease, cancer, diabetes, HIV or thalassemia

  • Receive immune-suppressing therapy for the treatment of disease
  • Take medicine that reduces stomach acid
  • Have recently undergone stomach surgery
  • Beach at Grand Isle, Louisiana, with Fort Livingston ruins in the background.

    What are the symptoms?

Common signs of Vibrio vulnificus include watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever and chills.

Signs of a wound infection include fever, redness, drainage or discharge, skin discoloration, pain, swelling or warmth around the wound.

Signs of bloodstream infection include fever, chills dangerously low blood pressure and blistering skin lesions.

    How is it treated?

Antibiotics are not recommended to treat mild infections, according to the CDC, though they can be used to treat severe or prolonged infections.

Wound infections, however, are treated with antibiotics and surgery — possibly including amputation— to remove dead or infected tissue.

The CDC recommends that people with diarrhea or vomiting drink plenty of liquids to prevent dehydration. It also advises immediately seeing a doctor or going to the emergency room when experiencing symptoms of a Vibrio vulnificus infection: “Do not wait.”

Tell the health care provider about any recent consumption of raw or undercooked seafood, especially oysters, or any open wound that may have come in contact with coastal water or raw or undercooked seafood or its drippings.

Brad Pitt Opens Up About Ending His Sobriety Journey

    0

Brad Pitt has candidly shared that he has resumed drinking alcohol after a seven-year hiatus from sobriety.

The actor originally gave up drinking nine years ago following his separation from Angelina Jolie, prompted by allegations of alcohol-fueled incidents during a tumultuous private jet flight involving their family.

Since then, the Hollywood star, who also owns a winery, publicly distanced himself from alcohol, dedicating himself to overcoming his personal struggles through Alcohol Anonymous meetings.

At 62, Pitt has chosen to reintroduce alcohol into his life, approaching it with newfound awareness and moderation.

During an extensive conversation with Esquire, Pitt disclosed he was “back off the wagon” after the interviewer spotted him offering a glass of wine, signaling his cautious return to drinking.

When asked if the beverage was for guests, Pitt responded: ‘No, I got—I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon,’ he said, offering a little laugh.

‘In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, “yep, nope, not good for me.” Not in big quantities.’

Pitt admitted he had gotten ‘back off the wagon’ after his Esquire interviewer noted the actor had offered him a glass of wine

Pitt clarified he was now able to ‘have a few’ glasses of wine but is unable to indulge any further.

‘Yeah. Well… I can have a few. But I can’t have a lot. I have to be professional about it,’ Pitt said.

‘He likes mornings now anyway, and you can miss a lovely morning when you drink too much the night before, and it’s just not as interesting,’ the profile noted of Pitt. ‘Mornings are interesting, and he doesn’t want any more of them to go by unseen.’

Pitt has had a complicated relationship with alcohol that is alleged to have been the source of issues he has suffered with his family.

His marriage with Angelina Jolie ended after a volatile plane incident in 2016 in which the actor was accused of being physically abusive towards both his wife and children.

In a 2022 court filing, Jolie alleged Pitt had been drinking during the flight and poured alcohol on herself and the children, according to CNN.

‘At one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children.’

Pitt denied the allegations and he was never charged in connection with the alleged incident following an FBI investigation.

A source close to Pitt told CNN at the time the court filing was released: ‘All parties have had this information for nearly six years and was used in previous legal proceedings. There is nothing new here and serves no purpose other than being a media stunt meant to inflict pain.’

A year later, the self-proclaimed ‘professional’ drinker was sober.

‘I enjoy wine very, very much, but I just ran it to the ground,’ he told GQ in 2017. ‘I had to step away for a minute. And truthfully I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka. I was a professional. I was good.’

For a year and a half, Pitt was in Alcoholics Anonymous, confiding in other men about the ‘ugly sides’ of himself.

‘You had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I have never heard,’ he told The New York Times. ‘It was this safe space where there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself.’

‘It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself,’ he said. ‘There’s great value in that.’

Pitt’s relationship with alcohol went beyond personal and into business.

During their marriage, Pitt and Jolie bought the French winery Chateau Miraval – a property that is now at the center of their legal ordeal.

Jolie sold her stake in it in part because of Pitt’s ‘acknowledged problem of alcohol abuse on their family.’

‘Resigned that Pitt would not share control of the winery or distribute any profits, concerned about participating in a business that was associated with such painful and traumatic memories for her and their children, and seeking financial independence, Jolie concluded that she needed to sell her interest in Chateau Miraval,’ court documents stated.

For a decade, Pitt and Jolie were seen as Hollywood’s ‘It’ couple during their long-term relationship.

They married in August 2014 during a secret ceremony in the South of France and welcomed three children together during their romance: Shiloh, 20, in 2006, and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 18, in 2008.

They also adopted two more, Zahara, 21, and Pax, 22, and Brad legally adopted the son that Angelina had adopted before they got together, Maddox, 25.

Yet the split has since seemingly exposed rifts between Pitt and his children, with many of them choosing to drop his last name in recent years.

Last month, the actor’s daughter Vivienne, 18, followed in the footsteps of her three older siblings and filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court to drop Pitt from her name.

The reason behind the teenager’s name change is listed as ‘personal’, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail. An official court hearing is scheduled for November 2.

The actor’s daughter Zahara and son Maddox also published notices revealing their intentions to drop Pitt from their last names.

The advertisements were both published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal throughout June and July.

Last year, Shiloh, who was born Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie. Aside from Pax, Vivienne’s twin brother Knox is the only other sibling who has yet to formally drop the actor’s surname.

Pitt addressed the ‘family stuff’ during his Esquire interview, admitting he battled suicidal thoughts amid his estrangement from his children with his ex-wife

Pitt explained how the pain he felt was so ‘oppressive’ and, while he would never act on it, he struggled to see a way out.

He told Esquire UK: ‘I was never suicidal in any way. It just was not my makeup. In fact, if I have any afflictions, it’s probably being a congenital optimist. Which has helped many times, and it’s also gotten me – I’ve walked foolishly head-on into a Mack truck because of my optimism.

‘Or, as my forever-funny friend David Fincher will say, “Yeah, you see the glass as half full, but it’s half full of urine.”

‘Anyway, I’ve never been suicidal except for one little period. And in that one little period, I just thought – I just couldn’t – just didn’t see a way out. The pain was so oppressive that – I wasn’t going to act on this, but I could feel – I could feel the cold steel of the bullet in my head, and it felt like relief.

‘And I thought, “Oh, okay, now I understand” – I understand suicide, in the sense that it’s just relief. It’s just looking for relief from the pain.

‘But I also think we have incredible survival instincts. And for me, that immediately kicked in, but it was just…Yeah. Like, listen: This s**t ain’t easy…And you’re talking to a guy who won the lottery.’

When quizzed by the interviewer, Brad confirmed he was talking about ‘family stuff’.

Now in his sixties, Brad shows no signs of slowing down. His next film, Heart of the Beast, a man-and-his-dog story, will be coming out this autumn followed by Quentin Tarantino’s The Adventures of Cliff Booth in which he stars as a Hollywood stuntman.

He just wrapped up the thriller The Riders a few weeks ago.

He is now happily in a relationship with jewellery executive Ines de Ramon, who resides with him in Los Angeles.

But Brad says he longs to be in his fifties again.

He told Esquire: ‘God, I want my fifties back…I would do more. Your fifties are just – man, anything that’s on your mind, go. Go attack it. Go attack it now.’

Buried in Wealth: Chilling Discovery of Parents Sparks International Manhunt for Missing Son

    0

An international search operation has been launched in pursuit of a man from Arizona, suspected in the tragic deaths of his parents. Authorities discovered their remains buried in the backyard of a residence.

Officials announced on Friday that the bodies were unearthed in the yard of a house in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The suspect, 27-year-old Matthew Flores, has been implicated in both the disappearance and murder of his parents. Investigators believe he has now crossed international borders to evade capture.

The deceased have been confirmed as Flores’ own mother and father, whose tragic end has shocked the local community.

The spotlight turned on Matthew Flores, aged 27, as the prime suspect in this harrowing case, with the bodies of his parents found concealed underground at their Arizona home. Authorities are convinced he has left the United States to avoid arrest.

In a press briefing, Avondale Police Officer Daniel Benavidez detailed that officers encountered a significant amount of blood inside the residence, alongside signs of an attempted cleanup, reinforcing suspicions of foul play.

The three people disappeared under “suspicious circumstances,” which led to a missing persons investigation being opened.

A mini excavator was needed to get the bodies out of the backyard.

The FBI and U.S. Marshals service are involved in the search for Flores, who officials believe has fled the country.

“I can’t tell you how many hours or days, but what I can say is that the bodies are in a state of decomposition,” Benavidez said.

People who knew Flores told FOX 10 they were surprised he is considered a suspect, adding they knew him to be a kind and sweet man.

The Flores family said in a statement that they are “devastated.”

“The Flores Semyonov family is devastated by recent events,” the representative said. “They are fully cooperating with law enforcement. Because this is an ongoing investigation, the family respectfully asks for privacy during this difficult time. Their deepest gratitude is extended to their loved ones, neighbors, and the community at large who have expressed concern.”

Alicia Carmody Celebrates Liz McGraw’s Thriving Journey Beyond ‘RHORI

    0

Liz McGraw has found true happiness since stepping away from “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.”

In an exclusive chat with Page Six’s podcast “Virtual Reali-Tea,” Alicia Carmody, a close friend and former co-star, shared insights about McGraw’s unexpected decision to leave the show after just one season. Known affectionately as the Cannabis Queen, McGraw’s departure caught many by surprise.

“I’m truly delighted for her; I’ve heard she’s doing incredibly well,” Carmody, 41, revealed as she discussed her new collaboration with Ziploc’s Lunch Confessions campaign. “It takes a lot to showcase your personal life on such a platform, and I’m sure she faced some online criticism.”

Carmody echoed the views of executive producer Andy Cohen, emphasizing that the option for McGraw to return remains open if she ever decides to rejoin the drama.

For now, Carmody, who is in the throes of filming Season 2 of “RHORI,” expressed that she is respecting McGraw’s need for space and allowing her the peace to thrive.

“I love her from afar. I always will love Liz,” she said.

“We started this [show] together,” she added. “I definitely miss her for certain things, but she had to do what she had to do.”

McGraw announced her exit from “RHORI” last month. She said she was taking “a step back” from the show to focus on her “family,” her “work” and her “passions.”

“The ‘RHORI’ cast is an amazing group of women who have created something special,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’ll be watching next season, rooting for the continued success of this franchise.”

While McGraw didn’t specify exactly why she decided to leave the show, “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Judge told Page Six that she was “really struggling with the hate on social media.”

Part of that backlash came from McGraw’s clash with Carmody during the debut season of “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.”

As fans saw on the show, McGraw repeatedly challenged Carmody’s claim that she was homeless as a child. Carmody alleged that she and her mother were homeless after her father left them. Meanwhile, McGraw insisted that, because Carmody was able to move into her grandmother’s house, she was never actually without a home.

While McGraw has known Carmody since she was born, the latter told us that they were not as close as the show made it seem.

“No, I wouldn’t go that far,” Carmody said, when we suggested they were “like sisters.”

According to Carmody, she actually grew up “best friends” with McGraw’s niece since McGraw’s sister and Carmody’s mom were extremely close.

“I feel like that wasn’t talked about enough,” Carmody said.

“Me and Liz weren’t besties but we have [had] a connection since I was born, a little girl. I looked up to her.”

“The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” Season 1 is currently streaming on Peacock.

Exploring Fulham’s Future: Arbeloa’s Reign & Young Star Signings

    0

This summer at Fulham marked a period of unexpected change after five years of relative stability, a transformation that Tony Khan hadn’t fully anticipated while the club was finalizing a new contract with Marco Silva.

Confident that everything was in place to announce Silva’s contract extension, Fulham was caught off guard when Benfica made an enticing offer, successfully drawing him back to Portugal.

Tony Khan has spent a decade in his role, during which he’s learned to brace for unforeseen twists. As the 43-year-old son of Fulham’s owner Shahid Khan, he has confronted and moved past criticism of nepotism to become a seasoned vice-chairman and the director of football operations. He acknowledges having developed resilience alongside a deeper expertise in English football and in securing talent for the team.

At the helm of Fulham’s football ventures, Khan collaborates closely with chief executive Alistair Mackintosh and the head coach—a spot recently filled by Alvaro Arbeloa, following Silva’s tenure of five years.

‘After years of achieving consistent results together, we really hoped Marco would remain with us,’ Khan explained in an interview with Daily Mail Sport. ‘Our discussions were extremely positive. There’s a strong camaraderie between Marco, myself, and my father, underscoring a solid friendship among us.’

‘I had started planning for the next season and was building scouting bulletins and organising our plans. Marco came in and fully negotiated the contract. We all expected him to sign it and then were taken aback when that wasn’t what happened.

‘But I completely understand the decision he made to go home and work at a club of that magnitude, with the opportunity to live in his own house with his family every night. Those things made a lot of sense.’

Benfica moved for out-of-contract Silva after Jose Mourinho left them for a second spell at Real Madrid, two deals oiled by Jorge Mendes, who is the agent of both managers.

Fulham closed the Lisbon-Madrid-London triangle by appointing former Liverpool, Real, West Ham and Spain right back Arbeloa, who ended last season in interim charge of Real following Xabi Alonso’s sacking, after his coaching impressed in the academy and with the reserves.

‘I’m very grateful to Marco,’ says Khan. ‘I consider him an important friend and a very important person in the history of the club. I know Alvaro really respects the job Marco did, the core we all built and Marco led, coached and strengthened.

‘That’s part of what made this an attractive opportunity for Alvaro. It is a very important summer for Fulham. It’s a challenge when somebody moves on after that length of time and you move to the next step for the club. But Alvaro joins us at a perfect time. It’s a very exciting time.’

Silva was the only candidate interviewed five years ago, when he replaced Scott Parker after relegation to the Championship. He was identified as a perfect fit and proved to be a terrific success. Khan says: ‘My father has been at the Jacksonville Jaguars for 15 years and now over 13 years at Fulham, and Marco has had the longest tenure of any coach at either club.’

Silva led Fulham to promotion in his first season, then established the club in the Premier League by finishing 10th, 13th, 11th and 11th. They reached a League Cup semi-final in 2024 and two FA Cup quarter-finals during his tenure.

This summer they considered and spoke to several candidates before settling on 43-year-old Arbeloa, undeterred by his limited experience coaching on the front line.

‘Everybody agreed Alvaro was the most exciting, fresh, dynamic and intelligent person we connected with,’ says Khan. ‘And the person we thought would connect with our players and give Fulham the best opportunity going forward. That’s why we hired him.

‘He worked with Real Madrid’s first team and their young players and has a lot of football experience.’

Arbeloa spent two years at Liverpool and a year at West Ham in a playing career decorated by two Champions League wins at Real Madrid, as well as a World Cup and two Euros wins with Spain.

‘He was a great player,’ says Khan. ‘He knows the Premier League, and his experiences are different to the experiences we have here. Alvaro brings a fresh perspective with his energy, ideas and connections. He is hard working, driven for success. There’s a very bright future with him here for all of us.’

Arbeloa’s connections have already secured the services of Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, talented youngsters from Real Madrid for a combined fee of £42.5million.

The bulk of that is for Garcia, a 22-year-old forward who made 30 La Liga appearances for Real last season and won his first Spain cap in June. Palacios is a 21-year-old attacking midfielder whom Arbeloa describes as ‘a magician’ that will get Fulham fans out of their seats.

How quickly they settle will determine how far they go towards replacing Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson, Fulham’s two top scorers in the Premier League last season who both left this summer at the end of their contracts.

Arbeloa (pictured playing against Fulham in 2008) made 98 appearances for Liverpool in a two-and-a-half-year spell

Jimenez, who scored nine, has returned to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wilson, who scored ten (and enough screamers for his own Goal of the Season competition), left for Leeds after rejecting a new contract.

‘Leeds were very interested in Harry Wilson late in the window last summer,’ says Khan. ‘It was such a large amount of money that it was something we had to look at and talk about, but the club made a very important decision keeping him at Fulham.

‘He scored some very important goals in key situations and has been a strong player through five excellent years. I was hoping he would stay. Leeds got a fantastic player. He’s been very well compensated, which he deserves, and I wish Harry the absolute best in everything he does unless it’s against Fulham.’

Khan took control of Fulham’s transfers in the summer of 2016 after finishing 20th in the Championship, the club’s lowest finish since promotion to the second tier under Kevin Keegan in 1999.

‘I saw the danger of the road the club were on,’ he says. ‘I thought it needed a complete upheaval. I approached my dad and said I really think I should take over the transfers and loans.

‘I was 33 years old and believed the team could do much better. A few years ago, I never would’ve thought I’d be here saying this. In 2013 [when Khan paid £150million to buy the club from Mohamed Al Fayed] I never would’ve thought I’d say it.

‘We kept the key players and brought in a completely new squad. The vast majority were new players. That team finished sixth and lost in the play-offs and the next year we got promoted after some important moves in the next couple of windows including Aleksandar Mitrovic on loan from Newcastle.’

Mitrovic – signed for £27million after a successful loan and sold for £50million to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia in 2023 after scoring 111 goals in five-and-a-half years at Fulham – must rank among the best deals of Khan’s time in office. His favourite though might be the return of Ryan Sessegnon, five years after a £25million move to Tottenham which brought the popular young left back nothing but bad luck with injuries.

‘When I first started working in the office, Ryan was a talented player coming through the academy and starting to train with the first team,’ recalls Khan. ‘I rode five hours in the car to see his first league match [at the age of 16] against Leeds.

‘Incredibly, that was 10 years ago this month. To have him back and part of the team now is special, and he’s still a young guy with a great career in front of him at Fulham.’

Despite losing Jimenez, Wilson and Issa Diop, sold to Ipswich for £8.5million, Fulham maintain the bones of a strong, settled and experienced team, which Khan expects to be boosted by the progress of talented youngsters.

Not only Garcia and Palacios, and wingers Oscar Bobb and Kevin, both 23, but also Jonah Kusi-Asare, 19, a Swedish striker signed for £5million after a year on loan from Bayern Munich and Josh King, also 19, who emerged last season from the club’s prolific academy.

Fulham remain active in the transfer market. There has been genuine interest in 19-year-old Thiago Pitarch, another of Real Madrid’s prized young players, whom Arbeloa coached in the youth teams and then gave him his senior debut in February against, you guessed it, Benfica. Signing Pitarch would be an audacious coup for Arbeloa although it appears unlikely.

They are close to completing the £30million signing of Southampton’s Northern Ireland international midfielder Shea Charles, who came through Manchester City’s academy and scored the late goal that knocked Arsenal out of last season’s FA Cup.

‘I’m very happy with what the club has achieved in recent years,’ says Khan. ‘Four years ago, everyone would have considered this to be very successful.

‘Now it’s a time to try new things but to keep many of these players who’ve been important in the run of success and stability at Fulham.

‘We’ve had new milestones under Marco, the furthest the club has gone in the League Cup, the most points ever in a Premier League campaign (54 in 2024-25).

‘I hope we can build on that. We have a strong core with players in their prime who we know can play together and exciting young players who can come in and compete with a young coach.

‘Hopefully there’s new milestones to hit in the league and cup, but I want to keep the club in a stable position in the Premier League.’
