Longtime soap opera actor Jay Pickett died Thursday at the age of 60.The star, known for his daytime TV shows in General Hospital and Days Of Our Lives, collapsed to the ground.

According to a Sunday report from TMZ, it happened while I was riding a horse while I was about to shoot a scene for a movie shoot in Idaho.

Costars took to social media to pay tribute to the Hollywood veteran. One person even added that Jay may have had a heart attack and several crew members were trying to revive him.

The official cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

The star was working on the movie Treasure Valley in Idaho. He was a star and was also writing and producing the Western, scheduled for release in 2022.

The film’s lead actor and co-producer, Jim Heffel, shared the news on Facebook.

“Jay died sitting on a horse ready to rope a helm in Treasure Valley, Idaho,” the actor began. “The way of a real cowboy.”

Travis Mills, who also starred in the movie, said on Facebook that the star looked like he had a heart attack.

Mills added that the team tried to save the star, but that didn’t work.

Pickett starred in the TV series Days of Our Lives for a year in the Nineties as Dr Chip But. Then came the soap Port Charles and General Hospital.

Jay has also made guest appearances on Desperate Housewives, Saving Grace, and NCIS, which aired for the first time.

He was survived by his wife, Elena, and their children.
