According to Sky News, NBA Chairman Larry is among the wealthy American sports team owners who have made bids for Chelsea Football Club.

Since Friday’s bid deadline, more potential buyers have emerged, with one US-based sports insider informing Sky News that Tanenbaum, the chairman of the United States National Basketball Association, had placed an offer with a partner.

Investors who have submitted bids for the club expect to learn whether they have advanced to the next round of the process as early as Monday evening, with some parties making proposals totaling more than £3 billion.

Larry Tanenbaum acquired his money as an entrepreneur who created a construction firm and funded one of the country’s leading cable television businesses.

He is most recognized as an owner of Toronto’s Maple Leafs and Raptors. Warren Paving and Materials Group was his company, which he sold to Lafarge Corp. five years ago.

Following serving as president and CEO of Kilmer Van Nostrand Co. Limited from 1968 to 2000, he’s now the company’s chairman and CEO.

He was the chairman of Warren, Canada’s most extensive asphalt paving and aggregate company until its merger with Lafarge North America, with operations in 54 cities.

Warren was also involved in large commercial aggregates operations, liquid asphalt trade and distribution, and road maintenance.

He recently sat on the Toronto Board of Trade’s advisory council.

He also served on the Ontario Investment and Trade Advisory Council, the Toronto Prosperity Initiative’s advisory council, the independent fiscal assessment panel of the City of Toronto, and the Mayor’s Economic Competitiveness Advisory Committee of the City of Toronto.
