Is Anne Heche Dead Or Still Alive? What Happened To Her?
Heche suffered a ‘severe anoxic brain injury’ caused by a lack of oxygen, according to a statement released on behalf of her family and friends.
She was declared brain-dead seven days later but was kept on life support until her organs could be donated.
Heche’s life support machine was turned off on August 14, and she was cremated on August 18.
A coroner ruled on August 17 that Heche died from inhalation injury and burns, and the death was ruled an accident.

According to her official autopsy and toxicology report, actress Anne Heche had cocaine in her system at the time of her tragic automobile collision into a Los Angeles home.
The toxicology report reveals that fentanyl was found in the body of the Emmy Award-winning actress along with traces of cocaine from the pain medication she received after the terrifying crash, according to TMZ.
Heche hit the LA home at 90 mph, igniting a fire that locked her inside for 45 minutes while numerous firefighters battled to free her.
Despite a picture of Heche taken immediately before the collision showing a bottle of what seemed to be vodka inside her blue Mini Cooper, the report states that Heche had no alcohol in her system.

The crash scene on August 5 was chaotic with firefighters braving the flames to try and rescue Heche and homeowner Lynne Mishele

The first of 59 firefighters arrived at the blazing residence on August 5 at 11:01am, according to the timestamp on the LA Fire Department’s recordings, with reports that Heche was stuck inside the car.
Officials wrongly assumed there was nobody else inside the house after resident Lynne Mishele was extricated from the fire since the car was hidden inside.
Heche was saved at approximately 11:49 a.m. after emergency personnel located the automobile but had to wait for a heavy-duty tow truck to brave the blaze and extract the vehicle.
She was taken to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she suffered severe burns and went into a coma.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 11:01 a.m. on August 5, shortly after the crash, and worked to subdue the flames to allow for the rescue attempts
While the crash happened just before 11 am, it wasn’t until 11:25 that firefighters could confirm that Heche was still trapped inside the car, and it took more than 20 minutes to pull her out

Mishele, who was at her Mar Vista home at the time Heche slammed into it with her pets, has since sued Heche’s estate for $2 million.
Mishele recently discussed the collision that killed Heche and said she postponed the lawsuit after learning she had cancer in September.
In the case, Mishele claimed that she, her dogs, and a pet tortoise were within feet from being struck by Heche’s car.
As dispute about Heche’s estate developed soon after her dying, the aftermath of her fatal crash received extensive media coverage.
She passed away without leaving a formal will, leaving her two boys from different fathers to fight it out for their fortune.

Despite the actor James Tupper, who was Heche’s ex-partner, claiming that $200,000 worth of her jewelry has “gone missing,” a court last week granted control of her estate to her son Homer Heche Laffoon.
The motion by Tupper, the father of Heche’s 13-year-old son Atlas, to appoint an independent administrator, was denied by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lee Bogdanoff, who instead named Laffoon, 20, as the estate’s permanent administrator.
The judge also dismissed the objection from Canadian-born Tupper, 57, who asserted that Laffoon is ‘not suitable’ to run the estate because he is too young, unemployed and was estranged from his mother at the time of her death.
