Naby Keita has 'many clubs' interested ahead of Liverpool departure with midfielder 'unlikely' to sign a new deal

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is reportedly attracting plenty of attention ahead of becoming a free agent this summer.

Keita joined the Reds from Leipzig in 2018 for £52.75million but has struggled with multiple injuries, seeing his five-year deal at Anfield come to an end, likely without an extension.

That shouldn’t be a problem for the Guinean, though, with Sky Sports Germany claiming ‘many clubs’ are interested in his services.

The outlet also claims that a new deal with Liverpool is ‘unlikely’, while a return to Germany is on the cards, although links with Turkish side Galatasaray have been rubbished.

Keita has started Liverpool’s last four games as a struggling Jurgen Klopp shakes up his midfield options, but he’s rarely been able to rely on the 27-year-old for extended time.

Keita has had 20 injuries in his near five years at Anfield, while he’s featured in 127 out of a possible 258 games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.

Previous reports had linked the midfielder with Borussia Dortmund, who look set to lose Jude Bellingham this summer amid interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

And there is obvious potential in Keita moving to Dortmund to help sweeten a potential Bellingham deal, even if it isn’t a direct transfer.

Keita’s previous spell in the Bundesliga saw him shine for Leipzig, scoring 14 goals in 58 games as he rose to prominence after leaving Salzburg.

Despite his stretches out of the team, Keita has won every trophy on offer at Liverpool, becoming a Premier League and Champions League champion under Klopp.
