Former first lady Melania Trump was captured leaving Trump Tower Thursday decked out in Chanel ballet shoes and with a black Chanel bag, paired with a black top and khaki skirt.
Her trip into the city comes as Manhattan has been blanketed by smoke coming from Canadian wildfires to the north.
It also comes as former President Donald Trump is expecting another indictment, this time in connection to the classified documents case.
He’s been on the road more, upping his campaign schedule as more Republican rivals join the 2024 presidential race. This week that included his former Vice President Mike Pence and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, an on-again, off-again adviser.
While Melania has voiced her support for his reelection bid – via a statement – and appeared at his November 15 presidential announcement, she hasn’t attended a campaign event since.

While former President Donald Trump has upped his campaign schedule, former first lady Melania Trump hasn’t been at a campaign event since her husband’s November announcement
She has, however, appeared with her husband at private functions, including at the Trumps’ Bedminster, New Jersey golf club – their summer residence.
She was also spotted at Mar-a-Lago with the ex-president on Mother’s Day and on May 6, when she, her husband and their son Barron met boxer Mike Tyson.
The former first lady spent Easter brunch with the ex-president – and a body language expert told DailyMail.com they were more together than ‘while they were in the White House’ and showed a ‘desire to get even closer.’
That was after Melania was noticeably absent when Trump invited press to Mar-a-Lago on April 4 – hours after he was in court in New York after being indicted on charges in the Stormy Daniels hush-money case.
The indictment marked the first time a former president was charged with a crime.

Daniels, a porn star, said her tryst with Trump happened in 2006, after he and Melania were married and after Melania had given birth to son Barron.

While Melania was not in the audience for the post-indictment speech, her father, Viktor Knavs, was there, seated with the ex-president’s adult children: Donald Trump Jr., Eric and Tiffany.
Ivanka Trump also didn’t attend.
Ivanka, who worked in the Trump White House, put out a statement the night her father announced his 2024 bid saying that she would not be participating this time around.
Melania was at Trump’s side on March 30, the night the Stormy Daniels indictment was announced.
She dined alongside her husband and their friends at their usual, highly visible table at Mar-a-Lago.
Earlier this week Knavs and Melania Trump’s mother Amalija were spotted leaving Trump Tower with luggage, receiving a hug from the former first lady’s assistant.
Melania wasn’t with them when they departed the former president’s New York luxury tower.
But her mother was wearing a similar outfit – a black top and jacket, paired with khaki pants and sunglasses.
