In 2009, Donte Stallworth, a former American footballer, killed Mario Reyes, a 59-year-old man, by running his car over him. The wide receiver was recently given a 30-day jail sentence. He was released after only a month on the job.

In comparison to a regular American, even after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter, the American football player did not have to serve any jail time. As a result, his case drew widespread criticism from across the country.

Donte Stallworth reportedly killed a 59-year-old man in Miami in 2009. He was drunk driving.

Mario Reyes was the victim and he was crossing the street when Stallworth’s car ran him over. As per the reports, he was in a hurry to cross the street so that he could catch the bus.

As a result, he was suspended for the 2009 NFL season. However, the wide receiver played three more seasons in the top flight after retiring in 2012.

Moroever, Donte Stallworth did a total jail time of just 30 days while he could have been sent to prison for at least 15 years. A lot of people still feel that Mario Reyes didn’t get any justice.
