Yes, Nancy Pelosi tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss her Taiwan trip according to her spokesperson.

Pelosi’s trip to Asia including, Taiwan has been postponed. She would have been the first House of Representatives to visit in 25  years.

 

 

China has warned the US of strong measures and not to visit Taiwan. According to the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, China had warned the US to abide by the One-China policy and cancel Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

Before Pelosi, Newt Gingrich had visited Taiwan in 1997. Although China has never directly controlled Taiwan, they view the islands as their territory and wish to seize it one day.

Nancy Pelosi’s Health And Illness Update

Nancy Pelosi has tested positive for COVID-19 despite testing negative a week earlier. However, she is currently asymptomatic and is showing no signs.

According to her representative, Pelosi is fully vaccinated and boosted as well. Maybe because of that, she has shown no signs and is feeling normal.

 

 

The House Representative Speaker is currently staying in quarantine as per federal health guidelines. Along with Pelosi, other half dozen officials have also tested positive ins a few days. However, the number of cases across the country has dropped drastically.
