Who Is Prisoned Drug Trafficker Tatiana Venegas? According to court filings, Tatiana Venegas, detained alongside Maxwell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, sent a handwritten letter in support of her friend, Maxwell.
Maxwell, who is 60 years old, has been detained in a federal facility since her arrest in July of 2020. In December, Maxwell was found guilty of assisting Jeffrey Epstein in luring younger women to him so that he could abuse them between 1994 and 2004.
The disgraced British socialite was placed on suicide watch at the prison in advance of her sentencing hearing; however, her legal representative stated on Saturday that she “is not suicidal.”

The Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn is where Maxwell and Venegas are being held. New York state prosecutors have charged Tatiana Venegas, age 31, with conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. The charges were brought against Venegas by the state.
This endorsement comes when Maxwell faces at least seven court filings by women who allege that she and Epstein victimize them. Venegas’s support comes at the same time. Maxwell raised objections to four of those just the previous week, but the judge allowed them to submit written statements anyway.
Prosecutors have stated that they anticipate at least two victims who testified during her trial to make oral statements during her sentencing hearing.

Last week, prosecutors stated that Maxwell deserves to spend between 30 and 55 years in prison for her participation in the 10-year sex-trafficking scheme; however, Maxwell’s attorneys argue that she deserves less than six years in prison for her involvement in the scheme.
