Goram, who briefly played for Coventry City toward the end of his career, revealed in May that he had been told he had terminal cancer.
According to a statement from the club, “Rangers Football Club are now very saddened to announce the passing of our famous goalkeeper, Andy Goram, following a brief fight with cancer.”
“The directors, management, players, and staff would like to ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult time. Our sympathies are with Andy’s family today.”
Between 1991 and 1998, Goram made 260 appearances for Rangers and captured five league titles, three Scottish Cups, and two League Cups. He received 43 Scotland starts.

In a May interview, Goram disclosed that he had been given the prognosis of terminal cancer at oesophageal.
He claimed that after denying the opportunity of chemotherapy, which may have given him an additional three months of life, physicians had given him around six months to live.
If he has chemotherapy, it may reportedly be extended to more than three months.
However, Andy has made the decision to skip treatment due to the pain he felt as his ex-wife passed away. At first, he disregarded the warning signs, thinking they were just indigestion or another minor problem.
When he chose to go to the hospital because his health was getting worse and he was having more problems, the doctor’s diagnosis really startled him.
