GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ricardo Adonus Cooper, 19, was arrested yesterday and charged with resisting arrest without violence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
At about 1 p.m. yesterday, a Gainesville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a car in which Cooper was a passenger in the 2300 block of NE Waldo Road. While Cooper was lawfully detained, he allegedly started running and was arrested after a foot chase.

A search incident to arrest reportedly produced a 9mm handgun in his pocket.
Cooper has two felony convictions in St. Johns County and is on probation until 2028 for burglary of an unoccupied structure while wearing a mask. Bail information is unavailable because courts are closed today.
