Andrea Cabrera (Florida’s Marion County Jail)
A Florida woman, enraged that her roommate and friend weren’t packing up their belongings quick enough, said, “I’m gonna f— you up,” before repeatedly swinging an ax into a wall and getting arrested, authorities said.
Andrea Cabrera, 52, faces charges of aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill and battery in the attack at her home in Citra on Monday, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The roommate told deputies Cabrera had been holding an ax and threatened her and her friend, the document said, according to an affidavit obtained by Law&Crime that lays out the case.
She told police she had been living with Cabrera for four to five days, and Carera had asked her to leave as the arrangement “wasn’t working out,” the affidavit said.
The victim asked her friend to help her collect her belongings. While packing up, the victim said Cabrera became verbally abusive, bumped her shoulder into hers, and went into her bedroom, continuing “to verbally abuse them both.”
“She felt scared and afraid for her safety and believed the defendant was capable of harming her,” and told the deputy she wished to pursue charges against Cabrera.
The male friend who was helping collect her belongings from the home said Cabrera became verbally abusive toward him.
He told authorities she was “becoming more and more agitated, telling them to hurry up.” At that moment, he realized she was holding an ax, and “then just swung the ax and hit the wall beside his head.”

The ax attack occurred outside the bathroom door. The door frame was damaged, but there were no reports of injuries.
He went outside the home and continued to load the vehicle as he was too afraid to reenter the house. He told police he also wished to pursue charges against Cabrera.
Cabrera told investigators the victim had been staying in her home for four or five days but said it wasn’t working out and had asked her to leave. She said when they weren’t packing quickly enough, she told them to “chop chop” and “Hurry up,” the affidavit said.
“The defendant advised she thought they could have packed belongings quicker and they needed to work harder,” the affidavit said.
She allegedly said that after telling them to “chop chop,” a verbal altercation began, and that’s why she went and got the ax for protection.
Cabrera said she only held the ax and never verbally threatened the victims or wielded the ax, the affidavit states.
She was taken into custody and booked into the Marion County Jail.
Cabrera also has two prior convictions for battery in 2021, the affidavit said.
Details about an attorney and the next hearing were not immediately available.
