It sure seems Gypsy Rose Blanchard — who was paroled last week after serving time for her role in the 2015 murder of her abusive mom — is enjoying her new-found freedom.

Since being let out of prison early, the 32-year-old has shared her “first selfie of freedom,” had a welcome home party with family, experienced a New Year’s Eve kiss with her husband, enjoyed a “beautiful day outside,” and promoted her e-book due out next week, according to her Instagram posts.

Blanchard, who married Louisiana teacher Ryan Anderson in 2022, while she was still locked up, also appears to be getting some long-awaited alone time with her husband. A “Just Married” sign can be seen hung up in a kitchen in the background of a snap of the couple kissing, and Blanchard captioned a separate shot of her rocking some bling on her left hand, “Finally get to wear my beautiful wedding ring.”

Blanchard, who was housed at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri — which is not one of the limited number of states that allow for conjugal visits — told People just prior to her prison release that she was looking forward to consummating her marriage and starting a family. Since her release, she’s addressed the topic further.

What are Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Anderson saying about life together after prison?

Addressing negative social media comments about her husband, Blanchard commented Tuesday on an Instagram photo that Anderson posted of himself in November: “I love you, and you love me. We do not owe anyone anything. Our family is who matters. If you get likes and good comments great, if you get hate then whatever because THEY DON’T MATTER.”

“I love you,” she added, including a heart emoji, and letting the world know, “besides they jealous because you are rocking my world every night…yeah I said it, the D is fire, happy wife happy life.” In response, Anderson wrote to his wife, “Who said I gave a damn about what these jealous people say anyway, haha…now come get it Baby.”

Ryan Anderson planned to take wife Gypsy Rose Blanchard on “first date”

Anderson previously told People that as part of his post-prison plans for his wife, he was going to take her out on a real first date.

“That night is when I’m going to get her to myself and have a romantic night out and take her on her first date,” Anderson spilled. “Gypsy’s never been on a real date where you go and sit somewhere and eat and go to a movie or do whatever.”

He further explained that the one time Blanchard went out on a date before prison was with Nicholas Godejohn — the man she met online and convinced to kill her mother after revealing the abuse she inflicted upon her — and it was chaperoned by her mom Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

“You’ve got to think, with her mom, the one time she met up with Nick, it was at a movie theater and she didn’t even get to sit with him,” Anderson said. “Her main thing is, ‘I’ve never been on a real date.’ So she’s going to get all gussied up and so am I, and I’m going to take her to a nice little candlelit place. That’s what I want to do.”

Dee Dee, who forced Blanchard into a number of painful surgeries and horrific procedures after convincing doctors and family members that her daughter suffered from illnesses like leukemia and muscular dystrophy, is believed to have had Munchhausen syndrome by proxy, now known as factitious disorder imposed on another.

Blanchard, 23 at the time of her mom’s June 9, 2015 slaying, pleaded guilty in 2016 to second-degree murder.  She testified at Godejohn’s trial that she convinced her then-boyfriend to fatally stab her mother while she slept in their home near Springfield, Missouri.

Godejohn, now 34, remains behind bars after being convicted of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Dee Dee’s killing and being sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
