Lee Jenkins Biography – Lee Jenkins Wiki

Lee Jenkins is an Automotive Engineer from Solihull, West Midlands. He is a contestant on MasterChef UK 2024 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Lee’s earliest memory of cooking is the “hearty home-cooked dinners I had after school. I used to love coming home every night not knowing what we were having,” he told the BBC. “My mum is a great cook and always made sure my family were well fed. It was when I moved out of home eight years ago that I started experimenting more in the kitchen, I taught myself and am still learning to this day.”

Lee described his style of cooking: “I love street food and would say my style of cooking is more inspired by finger food and being able to get stuck right in. I love cooking food that you can eat with your hands, as presentation has never been my strong point. I’m influenced a lot by Asian cuisine as that’s what I love to eat.”

Lee Jenkins MasterChef

31-year-old Lee Jenkins is a contestant on the 20th series of MasterChef UK on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. He is among the contestants cooking for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace in the third heat of MasterChef 2024, alongside Charlie, Enya Ayisha, Peter Le, Saffron Hodgson and Shreya Tiwari.

Lee entered MasterChef after his wife secretly applied for him. He said: “My wife put me forward which was great as I don’t think I would’ve had the confidence to apply myself. Being pushed out of my comfort zone to take part was the best decision. I hope it’s an experience I will never forget.”

He told the BBC about his earliest MasterChef memories and its’ impact on approach to food: “I’ve been watching MasterChef for over 10 years and always loved watching the amateurs rustle up and showcase their different styles of cooking. It’s what motivated me to start cooking and experimenting.

“I think there are more young people getting into cooking these days and really trying to upskill. It’s great to see that there are a lot of young people in the industry, which I think motivates a lot of us to do more and try new things.”
