Jake Paul and brother Logan announce they'll fight EACH OTHER

Will Jake and Logan Paul go where the Klitschko, Charlo and Spinks brothers never dared?

The brothers and former YouTubers who popularized influencer boxer now say they’re prepared to fight each other on March 27th.

The fight will be streaming live on Max, according to a post on X from Jake Paul.

Both siblings recently participated in Donald Trump’s inauguration earlier this month alongside controversial MMA icon Conor McGregor, who had just revealed his intentions to box Logan in India.

However, that proposal has been scrapped with McGregor pointing his finger at the UFC.

In an interview with The Schmo, McGregor disclosed that discussions were ongoing for the match to occur in Mumbai, India, with a projected $250 million reward at stake. He mentioned that both he and Logan were prepared to compete under the management of TKO, the organization overseeing both the UFC and WWE. However, McGregor lamented that the UFC leadership was not supportive of the idea.

The boxing world is still recuperating from the heavily-watched – and heavily criticized – 2024 fight between Logan’s brother, Paul, and the 58-year-old remains of Mike Tyson. This event set attendance records at AT&T Stadium near Dallas and was watched by over 60 million households globally, as reported by Netflix.

Unfortunately for anyone who survived the eight-round snoozefest, it failed to live up to expectations as Tyson looked every bit his 58 years.

And McGregor’s proposed bout with Logan Paul didn’t promise to be any better. The Irishman was overwhelmed by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his only foray into the ring in 2017, losing by TKO in the 10th round.

Logan previously faced Mayweather, albeit in an exhibition that was plagued by the former’s persistent clinching.

And aside from that, his boxing resume is decidedly lacking. The 29-year-old Cleveland native has been in just two real fights, having lost a split decision to KSI before beating grappler Dillon Danis in 2023.

Jake’s resume is nearly as thin.

After beating the likes of former NBA star Nate Robinson and a string of MMA specialists, Jake was defeated by Tommy Fury – the first true boxer he’s ever faced – to fall to 6-1.

Since then Paul has produced an impressive win over UFC legend Nate Diaz, who did have extensive training as a boxer, not to mention bareknuckle fighter Mike Perry before his ho-hum win over Iron Mike in November.

Jake Paul is currently 11-1.

Curiously, the fight is scheduled just weeks ahead of the WWE’s Wrestlemania, where Logan could be asked to perform. It’s unclear if the wrestling promotion has any plans to use him at Wrestlemania or concerns over his participation in a boxing match against his brother.

It’s obviously very rare for brothers to box one another. Japan’s Kusuo and Katsuaki Eguchi did so in 1993, with the older Kusuo delivering a brutal knockout in the sixth round.

However, legendary heavyweights such as Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko as well as Michael and Leon Spinks steadfastly refused to square off against each other in the ring.

‘We don’t want to see our mother crying,’ Wladimir told CBS in 2004. ‘And we don’t want to break our mother’s heart. And we promised our mother when we start to box, we will never fight against each other.’

Fans were less than enthusiastic about the matchup online, describing the bout as another ‘joke’ perpetuated by promoters seeking an easy buck.

‘Is this a joke???’ one fan asked on X.

‘Boring,’ another added.

One commenter rejected the idea of fighting a sibling.

‘You should not fight your brother for clout,’ they wrote. ‘That’s your family.’
