OCALA, Fla. – A 14-year-old boy is scheduled be sentenced Friday after he pleaded guilty in November in a sex attack of a 91-year-old Reddick woman.

Jesse Stone originally pleaded not guilty in August.

Marion County deputies said the woman awoke early on June 9 to find Stone in her home before she was then beaten and sexually battered.

She was later taken to a hospital, where she told detectives that the suspect had “pounced” on her, punching her in the face, and then fleeing the scene. according to the sheriff’s office.

Later that same day, the sheriff’s office explained that Stone had approached detectives as they canvassed the area, telling them that a neighbor had “found something” on surveillance video that the neighbor wanted the detectives to see. Upon reviewing the video, detectives discovered a “figure” who appeared to look similar to Stone.

Nearly a week later, deputies announced that they arrested Stone on charges of sexual battery and burglary using the surveillance video and DNA evidence.

Stone was charged as an adult.
