VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man with a warrant out of Lake County was arrested in Volusia after speeding away from a traffic stop on Friday and eventually crashing into other drivers, according to the sheriff’s office.

Randolph Brown, 39, now faces a litany of charges including fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, trafficking in oxycodone between 14 and 25 grams, aggravated assault and more, records show. Brown’s Lake County warrant was for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said on social media.

Deputies can be seen on body-worn camera video demanding that Brown exit his vehicle during a traffic stop around 5:30 p.m. Friday in the DeLeon Springs area. From there, the sheriff’s office said Brown struck two patrol vehicles as he backed out and sped away from the gathered deputies, now followed by a helicopter as he drove off.

Brown wound up crashing in the DeLand area after a pursuit which involved him driving into oncoming traffic multiple times, the sheriff’s office said, adding two other drivers who Brown’s vehicle ran into were OK but reported neck pain from the crash. He was taken into custody with help from K9 Red while he walked away from the wrecked vehicle, the footage shows.

Deputies reported finding a loaded firearm and a backpack containing various drugs inside of Brown’s vehicle, the post states.

In addition to his no-bond warrant, Brown was arrested on charges including aggravated fleeing, battery on LEO, 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on LEO, battery on a law enforcement K-9, resisting arrest with violence, resisting without violence, 2 counts of hit and run with injuries, armed trafficking in Oxycodone, possession of MDMA, Xanax, other prescription drugs and marijuana with intent to sell, possession of suboxone, and habitually driving with a suspended license.
