McCORMICK COUNTY, S.C. () – The McCormick County Sheriff’s Office announced it has arrested two people in reference to a shooting that took place last week.
According to a press release, officers responded to the call of gunshots being fired into a residence in the Plum Branch community on Feb. 18 at approximately 4 a.m.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the sheriff’s office said two individuals have been located and taken into custody on charges that include Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime
“Let this be a message that anybody who decides to carry out acts of violence, especially involving the use of firearms, and has total disregard for human life or the safety of others, will be held accountable for their actions,” Sheriff Chad Cox said in a statement. “This type of behavior and any other senseless act(s) of violence will not be tolerated in McCormick County.”
This investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office says more arrests are expected.
