Florida Highway Patrol says the man’s motorcycle was upright and leaned up against a utility pole when a trooper arrived at the scene.
BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A 24-year-old man died Tuesday after a woman hit him head-on in a crash in Starke, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says that at 5:36 p.m., the woman, who is 68 years old, was traveling west on West Weldon Street in a pickup truck, while the man was traveling east on the street on a motorcycle.
According to the crash report, the woman “failed to observe eastbound traffic” as she traveled into an eastbound lane on the street, resulting in the head-on collision with the man.
The report states that when a trooper arrived at the scene, they noticed the man’s motorcycle was “upright leaned up against a utility pole.” The woman’s pickup truck was parked in a Bradford High School driveway.
The man was then taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the report. The woman did not suffer any injuries.
FHP did not release the identities of either the man or woman in the report.
