Man faces over 10 charges after reckless driving, Glynn officials say

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. () — A 34-year-old man now faces over 10 charges after driving over 100 mph, weaving in and out of oncoming traffic and fleeing law enforcement on foot, a Glynn County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

Jonathan Hart reportedly crashed his black Dodge Challenger 392 into a guard rail between 10th and 9th Street after driving in and out of oncoming traffic, driving in the center turn lane, making multiple illegal U-turns and going over 130 mph on Highway 341.

After crashing, law enforcement said Hart fled the scene on foot before being taken into custody by deputies.

The GCSO said Hart is charged with the following:

  • Fleeing/attempting to elude
  • Possession with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug objects
  • Willful obstruction of law enforcement
  • Speeding
  • Failure to maintain lane
  • Driving under the influence of drugs
  • Improper driving
  • Two counts of improper U-turn
  • Central lane for turning
  • Driving on the wrong side of the road
  • Reckless driving

Officials also said they seized over a pound of marijuana from Hart’s vehicle.

He also had several active warrants, GCSO said:

  • Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer
  • Two charges of willful obstruction of law enforcement
  • Duty upon striking a fixture
  • Speeding
  • Reckless driving
  • Improper driving
  • Improper turn
  • Operation of unregistered vehicle
