Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been heckled again by climate protesters, with a notorious activist group claimed responsibility for the latest incident.

Two protesters crashed a press conference today held at Maitland Hospital on the NSW Central Coast to oppose the federal government’s approval for new coal and gas projects.

“Mr Albanese, why did your government approve 33 new fossil fuel projects?” one of the protesters yelled.

“It’s my future, it has to stop.”

”The climate crisis is the greatest health threat to the future of Australia,” another protester shouted.

The pair were quickly ushered out of the building by security personnel.

Rising Tide has claimed responsibility through a social media post identifying the two activists as 19-year-old Ivy and 42-year-old Naomi.

“We did it again,” Rising Tide wrote on a social media post.

Rising Tide, who describe themselves as a “civil resistance for climate defence”, has also been behind protests targeting Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.

Prime minister falls off stage on election campaign trail

Albanese has been hot on the campaign trail today as he tries to secure votes for a second term at the federal election on May 3.

At another appearance today, Albanese took a tumble at a Mining and Energy Union conference in the NSW Hunter region.

He was heading to take a group photo when he stepped too far back and fell behind the stage. After being helped up, he laughed off the fall and waved to the crowd.

Albanese and Dutton have been both notably targeted by protesters while campaigning in Queensland over the weekend.

As a result, security measures have been beefed up around the high-profile figures as the pair have geared up their public appearances in the lead-up to the election.
