Joe Rogan reveals REAL reason Snow White flopped at the box office

Joe Rogan suggested DOGE should investigate the makers of box office flop Snow White for managing to blow a $250 million budget on a movie that looked terrible instead of blaming star Rachel Zegler.

Zegler, 23, has taken the brunt of the blame for the film underperforming its massive budget – grossing just $69 million domestically – and becoming one of the least liked films of all time on film review sites.

She’s also been dinged for her political opinions and was harshly criticized by the son of the producer of the movie for tweeting ‘free Palestine.’

Rogan discussed the movie on his hit podcast on Wednesday with comedian Kurt Metzger.

Metzger pointed out that while he’s ‘sure she sucks,’ Zegler is likely being made to take the fall for a movie that had to go through a lot of people to get made.

‘If you notice the spin on it, they’re putting it all on her. I mean, I’m sure she sucks, but she is very young. She didn’t write that script though, right?’ he said.

He and Rogan then waded into an issue that many have complained about regarding the film – the use of CGI for the seven dwarves after complaints by actor Peter Dinklage.

‘And I don’t think she made the “no dwarves” decision, that was Sir Peter Dinklage,’ Metzger cracked.

The pair put the scenes involving the dwarves on Rogan’s big screen to watch how poor it was.

‘Oh, wow, that does look bad. Oh, it doesn’t look real at all,’ he said.

Rogan then came up with an idea to fix the movie after hearing about its quarter of a billion dollar budget.

‘Wait, how much did this cost? They should get DOGE to look at this movie. They spent 250 million bucks making that movie?’

Rogan did somewhat blame Zegler for letting politics interfere with what should be a children’s film.

‘Imagine you spent $250 million, and you get some young girl, and you don’t kind of talk to her about like, ‘Hey, you know, don’t get political. You’re young, and I know you have opinions about things, but this should be just about the movie,’ he said.

Metzger defended the West Side Story star, saying that she actually embodies the film’s warped take on Snow White as a character.

‘They wrote a script that’s telling girls, ‘I don’t need nobody to tell me, I’m a 20-year-old girl, so obviously I should run my mouth all the time.”

‘So now, they’ve put it all on her, now it failed. Here’s what happened, she made the cardinal error of saying ‘Free Palestine’ on Twitter,’ Metzger said.

‘So she could say all that ‘men are bad’ and it’s this and that, but once you do that, now they’ve put the entire weight of the failure upon her.’

On Tuesday Zegler’s West Side Story co-star Ariana DeBose, 34, appeared to take aim at her on Instagram as she directly quoted Snow White producer Marc Platt’s son Jonah, who recently slammed Zegler in an now-deleted tirade.

The now-deleted post read: ‘Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged.’

She soundtracked it to Beyonce’s song Cozy, and turned off the comments.

DeBose later insisted that she didn’t mean to target Zegler as she uploaded a statement to her Instagram Story after her original post went viral.

‘I post quotes all the time and thought this one was meaningful,’ she wrote, admitting, ‘Will fully cop to the fact I did not do any research on where this post came from, nor did I know of the connection until it was pointed out to me.’

Jonah’s statement, written online in response to a fan, branded Zegler ‘immature’ and ‘narcissistic.’

He did so in response to a fan comment, which referenced an article published by Variety that claimed Marc had flown to New York to speak to Zegler about her controversial pro-Palestine social media posts.

The fan comment — made in reference to a Variety article about his dad addressing Zegler on her pro-Palestine stance — read: ‘Your dad flew to NYC to reprimand a young actress? Any words on this? Cuz that’s creepy as hell and uncalled for. People have the right to free speech, no? Shame on your father.’

Jonah’s responded: ‘Yeah, my dad, the producer of the enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20-year-old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicly for.’

Elsewhere in the comment he implied Rachel’s actions tanked the film, and said: ‘Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions. Tens of thousands of people worked on that film and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful.’

Amid the Snow White press tour, it was speculated that there was a behind-the-scenes clash between Rachel and her co-star Gal Gadot.

It was believed to be over their opposing views on the yearslong Israeli-Palestinian conflict; Gadot is notably from Israel.

Despite the rumored friction, the two women were pleasant and professional while carrying out their promotion duties.

As the reboot hit theaters in late March, Zegler took to social media to gush over the production, ignoring the outside noise.

Sharing behind-the-scenes outtakes, she wrote in an Instagram caption: ‘This movie was a life-changing experience that has held about four years of my career. The growing up you do from the age of twenty (when I was cast) to twenty-three (the age i am now) cannot be accurately described, yet [it exists] here on film forever.

‘I became a real adult during the course of this film — learned hard lessons, did hard things, laughed, cried, turned 21, lived across the ocean from my family, made new friends, and completely fell in love with this group of people I got to work with for three magical summers in London.’

She ended the note by writing, ‘Remember, you’re the one who can fill the world with sunshine.’
