Several Of The Top 24 Contestants Have Previously Competed In Reality TV Singing Competitions

A Few Of The Top 24 Contestants Competed On Shows Like The Voice And X Factor

A few of the contestants in the Top 24 have previously tried out for other reality TV singing competition shows. It’s no wonder that some of them look so natural on stage!

Two contestants have showcased their talent on The Voice, a show much like Idol but where singers audition for a celebrity coach who will mentor them throughout the competition. Victor Soloman, who is allegedly singing Luke’s “That’s My Kind of Night” in Hawaii, was a contestant on Season 20 of The Voice and chose John Legend as his coach. Victor ended up finishing in fifth place.

Thunderstorm Artis, who is surely becoming a fan-favorite, was a contestant on Season 18 of The Voice where he was mentored by Nick Jonas. He came really close to winning it all that season, placing third behind runner-up Toneisha Harris and winner Todd Tilghman.

Drew Ryn was 14-years-old when she competed on X Factor USA Season 1. According to MJSBIGBLOG, she finished in sixth place, but she’s back on reality TV at age 27. (The Idol age limit is 28). Then there is Mikey Jimenez, better known as MKY, who competed on 2017’s Boy Band, a TV series that aired on ABC and only had one season. The show produced the band, In Real Life. Lastly, Olivier, who is French Canadian, competed on a Canadian reality show called Star Académie.

MJSBIGBLOG also noted that after the Top 24 contestants sing their hearts out on stage, four will allegedly be sent home. The Season 23 competitors are some of the best American Idol has ever seen, so it’s certain to be one of the most intense seasons yet.

American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
