BVPD: 140 grams of meth found during traffic stop

BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man was arrested Tuesday after authorities in Bristol, Virginia reportedly found 149 grams of methamphetamine and other drugs in his possession.

According to a news release from the Bristol Virginia Police Department (BVPD), detectives conducted a traffic stop at Valley Drive and Texas Avenue just before 11 p.m. due to an ongoing investigation.

The BVPD stated that with the help of K-9 Fanta, authorities found approximately 149 grams of methamphetamine and seven grams of crack.

Jacque Adams, 59, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I or II drug with intent to distribute, the police department reported.

Adams was released from the Southwest Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned in court on May 15 at 9 a.m.
