Terri Baldwin, 39, faces four counts of child abuse and one count of aggravated assault without the intent kill, her arrest report states.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville charter school staff member was arrested on multiple child abuse charges Tuesday following an incident at the school Monday.

Terri Baldwin, 39, faces four counts of child abuse and one count of aggravated assault without the intent kill, her arrest report states. She was fired from her position at IDEA River Bluff, located in the city’s Arlington area, after her arrest.

Most of what happened in the incident is redacted in the report, but the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office noted there are five victims of the incident and seven witnesses.

The sheriff’s office also said in the report that a victim was taken into a bathroom with Baldwin due to them crying, and when they both came out, the victim was “more upset than when they went in.” One of the witnesses told JSO that Baldwin yelled at the same victim for lying.

IDEA Public Schools issued the following statement regarding Baldwin’s arrest:

“IDEA River Bluff is aware of an arrest made on campus involving a staff member accused of alleged improper conduct towards a student. We are working collaboratively with local authorities in the investigation. The staff member is no longer employed at IDEA River Bluff. As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be provided at this time.”

Baldwin’s next court date is scheduled for May 28 at 9 a.m. at the Duval County Courthouse, according to jail records.
