The stakes have never been higher on The Handmaid’s Tale.

This week’s episode titled “Exodus,” shows June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) and a gang of her fellow handmaids staging the biggest coup they’ve planned yet with Mayday. The handmaids sneak into Serena Joy and Commander Wharton’s wedding to exact revenge on the very same commanders who subjugated them for years. They also manage to rescue a group of handmaids in the process, some of whom may not have been placed with commanders yet.

The ladies not only successfully carried out their plan, but an unexpected reunion with Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) also seems to set up what’s to come for her character in the upcoming series The Testaments as June finally convinces her of her own complicated role in Gilead’s oppressive regime. Could this be what gives Aunt Lydia a change of heart?

Such a climactic episode may leave fans wondering how much could be left in June’s story.

Here’s everything we know so far about the rest of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6.

How many episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale are left?

After this week’s episode, there are three new episodes left of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6.

It’s difficult to imagine what could possibly happen next after the handmaids finally got some semblance of justice, and in some cases, closure in this week’s episode. But actress Madeline Brewer teased that the season finale will definitely exceed fans’ expectations.

“It goes a little wild there toward the end, and I think it’s what the fans have been waiting six seasons for — they’ve been waiting for revolution,” she told Variety. “We had a long resistance, we had a lot of building and building and really a slow burn to what is an outrageous revolution, truly, in the end.”

Max Minghella teased similarly, telling the press, “I think it will surprise audiences.”

Is this the last season of The Handmaid’s Tale?

Will there be another season of The Handmaid’s Tale? Unfortunately, there will not be. Season 6 will mark the end of the long-running dystopian drama, which has been airing on Hulu since 2017.

Hulu described this “final chapter of June’s journey” as highlighting “the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.”

When is the season finale of The Handmaid’s Tale?

The Season 6 finale, which is also The Handmaid’s Tale series finale, airs Tuesday, May 27.

New episodes air every Tuesday on Hulu at midnight ET.

All six seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale are streaming now on Hulu.
