Arrest made following reported assault in downtown Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly assaulting two people in a downtown breezeway.

According to a news release from the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), an investigation started after a report of an assault that happened May 4 around 2 a.m.

An investigation found that two people sustained serious bodily injuries during the assault, the JCPD reported.

During questioning, the JCPD stated that Marques Nave, 21, admitted to his role in the assault.

Nave was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

“The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests could follow,” the JCPD said in the release.
