Dickson Wong Explained Why He Wants Parvati Shallow To Win Australian Survivor: Australia V The World In Front Of Her Competitor, David Genat

In May 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas interviewed Dickson Wong and David Genat together. During that conversation, Dickson was asked about the next reality show fans will see David compete on.

In April 2025, Pedestrian reported on major reality show news that had just been revealed. At that time, the cast for Australian Survivor: Australia V The World had been announced. That article revealed that the former Deal or No Deal Island castmates, Parvati and David, would both compete as part of Australian Survivor: Australia V The World.

Since Dickson became so close with David and Dickson during Deal or No Deal Island, Australian Survivor: Australia V The World must be exciting. However, while talking to TheThings, Dickson was put on the spot and asked to choose whether he wanted David or Parvati to win Australian Survivor: Australia V The World.

Once Dickson heard the question, he lamented having to answer. “Oh gosh. You’re really putting me on the spot?” After he wasn’t given an out, Dickson revealed that he wanted Parvati to win while David was watching.

After that statement, Dickson provided another reason why he was rooting for Parvati over David. “I’ve seen Parvati play Survivor. I still need to go back and watch David the Survivor player, not David from Deal or No Deal Island. Because I was told personally, which if it’s true, I love it. I was told David’s pretty ruthless. So I would love to see that if it is true.”

At that moment, Dickson likely thought he was off the hook, but he was asked a follow-up question. In April 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas interviewed Parvati about Deal or No Deal Island. During that conversation, Parvati was asked if she would want David or Dickson to win Deal or No Deal Island if it was up to her. In response. Parvati stated she wanted David to win over Dickson.

After being told that Parvati chose David to win over him, Dickson was asked if that changed who he was rooting for during Australian Survivor: Australia V The World. Not only that, as a pained Dickson weighed how to respond, David playfully acted like he wanted to be picked. “Come on.” However, Dickson then revealed to TheThings that he was sticking to his original choice.

“I’m not going back on what I said. You know, I’ll stick with it. I love David. Love Parvati. But, again, you know, I need to watch David the player first, but I I just love watching Parvati on Survivor, and I can’t wait to watch, Australia vs. The World. So, obviously, I’ll be cheering for both of them. So, hopefully, they’re both in final tribal.”

Why Parvati Shallow Was Rooting For David Genat Over Dickson Wong During Deal Or No Deal Island

As was previously mentioned in this article, Parvati Shallow once told TheThings that if it was up to her, she would want David Genat to win DONDI over Dickson Won. During that interview, Parvati also explained why she would choose David over Dickson.

Parvati provided two reasons she was rooting for David to win over Dickson. First off, Parvati cited how cold-blooded she saw Dickson being at one point. Secondly, Parvati explained that she felt David was more pivotal to her game than Dickson was.

“I would pick David to win. Because Dickson, I loved him like he was my baby boy. But in the very beginning of the game, $1 Luke, who played the first game, he loved Dickson. Luke came up to me, and he was like, ‘You gotta protect Dickson at all costs,’ and he loved Dickson. Then Luke goes home, and Dickson has no compassion for Luke. He’s like, he dug his own grave. Luke gave Dickson a bracelet, and he was like, ‘This is for you. Go get him. Good luck.’ And Dickson’s like, ‘I don’t want this.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god. This kid has ice in his veins.’ I adored Dickson. I loved him like a son, but, also, I didn’t trust him the way that I trusted David. I didn’t move through the game, like, with Dickson. David was my male foil, like, my counterpart. If David’s not there, I’m not doing as well as I did in the game. You know? If Dickson’s not there, I think I’d have been okay. So just for the sheer fact that he we work together in such close partnership the whole game, I would probably give it to [David].”

Fortunately, during the May 2025 group interview with TheThings, Dickson said something that made it seem like he wouldn’t be bothered by Parvati choosing David. During his interview with David, Dickson stated that the three core members of DONDI’s Family alliance ultimately understood that they had to put themselves first. “Me, Dave, and even Parvati would agree that we would stab one another in the back if we had to to get us to the next round.”
