GROVELAND, Fla. – Groveland police are warning residents about a possible scam making the rounds among local residents, according to a release on Monday.

In a release on Monday, police said they’d learned about a vendor going door-to-door offering “mandatory arsenic testing” and trying to enter people’s homes.

However, police explained that there are no city requirements for this sort of testing, meaning that this vendor may be lying about being affiliated with the city.

As a result, this could be a case of fraudulent activity, investigators stated.

“Do NOT allow anyone into your home for this purpose,” the release reads. “If you’re ever concerned about suspicious activity, do not hesitate to report it to us. As always, call 911 for any emergencies.”

Police also urged local residents to remain alert and spread the message about this potential scam.

No additional information has been provided at this time.
