How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Bravo Mondays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.

Below Deck chef Anthony Iracane is back, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

In Season 12 of Below Deck, Anthony made a comeback in Episode 2. As he embarked on his journey in Episode 3, he aimed to make amends for his tumultuous time on St. David in Season 11.

“It’s not for everyone to get a second chance,” Anthony said on the June 16 episode. “And, you know, I remember what happened last season. So, it’s a lot of pressure because I cannot make any mistakes.”

To ease him back into the job, Captain Kerry Titheradge partnered Anthony with chef Lawrence Snowden — who announced he would be departing from the ship in Episode 2 — for the first day of the boat’s second charter. Anthony was nervous to collaborate with Lawrence, and said that working with another chef “can be very challenging.”

“It can be, like, a drama … one [chef wants to] be the best and [the other chef wants to] be the best,” Anthony said in a confessional. “So, it’s going to be a big fight in the end. [We’ll] see how we can work together. Hopefully for the best.”

Despite his reservations, Anthony and Lawrence worked well together, serving up a delicious French cabaret-themed dinner for the charter guests.

“It was great to have chef Lawrence for the first charter,” Anthony said in the episode. “It really helped me to calm down and just be focused.”

Lawrence left the next day, leaving Anthony to his own devices. Once alone, Anthony admitted his anxieties in a confessional.

“Me getting fired on St. David, it was a really terrible moment,” Anthony said. “I was thinking, ‘Damn, at the end, I’m a loser. I’m a bad chef’…. Honestly, I have everything to lose right now.”

Chef Anthony Iracane explains complicated feelings about reuniting with Fraser Olender

Although chief stew Fraser Olender encouraged Kerry to hire Anthony in Episode 2, Anthony wasn’t so sure about Fraser’s loyalty as he believed Fraser had a hand in his Season 11 firing. He first brought this up in Episode 2, when he declared that Fraser “betrayed” him. In Episode 3, he further explained his mixed emotions about their relationship.

“Me and Fraser, I feel like he’s really part of my family,” Anthony said in an episode interview. “And I feel, he also maybe was a little part of my departure [last season].”

He added, “It’s going to be hard between charter, between everything, to find the right, perfect moment to talk about my feelings with Fraser.”

Based on a flash-forward in Episode 2 capturing the two crew members having an explosive argument about Anthony’s Season 11 firing, we can expect this issue to play out onscreen soon enough.

Why was Anthony Iracane fired on Below Deck Season 11?

Anthony was fired by captain Kerry in Season 11, Episode 12 for what he described as declining food quality and poor attention to detail.

“I think you’re an incredible chef. Your food is absolutely amazing,” Kerry said at the time. “But, you’re starting to kind of nosedive.”

Although Anthony objected, Kerry stood firm in his decision. “This is not the right environment for you, mate. You’re not flourishing here… If I keep you here any longer, I’m going to set you up for disaster,” Kerry said. “I’m doing you a favor.”

As we wait to see how Anthony does during Season 12, learn more about Anthony and his relationship with Fraser.
