CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Calhoun County lawyer has been indicted on sexual abuse charges, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced Thursday.
On Thursday, a grand jury indicted Doug Ghee on one count of first-degree sexual abuse. Ghee, 79, is an attorney at G.D.A. Firm
According to court records, Ghee allegedly touched someone in a sexual manner with “forcible compulsion.”
Last August, Ghee was sued by Justice N. King, who alleged that Ghee forced her to be his “sex slave” while she was an inmate at the Calhoun County Jail in exchange for getting her an offer to get a lighter sentence.
King’s lawsuit states that the offer was based on the condition that she would hire Ghee for $2,500 and be his “sex slave” after she was released from jail. Part of the lawsuit detailed an alleged instance where Ghee reportedly kissed King against her will and groped her during a jail visit. Another inmate has also alleged the same behavior from Ghee.
Ghee, who served in the Alabama Senate from 1990 to 1998, has since pleaded not guilty and has been released on $5,000 bond as the case makes its way through the court.
