White House slams 'The View's Ana Navarro for criticizing Alligator Alcatraz: She "can't get any dumber"

The White House has issued a strong statement against The View co-host Ana Navarro after she criticized Alligator Alcatraz and President Donald Trump’s immigration policies on the show.

Just hours after Navarro declared during Friday’s broadcast that Trump was trying to “make America white again” with his ongoing crackdown on immigration, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson slammed The View host, calling her “stupid” and “wrong.”

“Every time you think Ana Navaro [sic] can’t get any dumber, she proves you wrong,” Jackson’s statement to Entertainment Weekly reads.

Jackson disagreed with Navarro, who slammed tourists on the show for visiting and taking photographs at the Florida detention center dubbed Alligator Alcatraz.

“The real ‘horrible human beings’ are the violent illegal criminals being held at Alligator Alcatraz, including murderers like an illegal alien who slit the throat of an elderly woman in Florida and set her house on fire,” Jackson’s statement notes, linking to a social media post about the alleged crime that the outlet noted they could not verify.

“No one who has any interest in facts or logic should pay attention to whatever Ana is spewing on TV because it’s probably wrong or stupid or, most likely, both,” Jackson’s statement concludes.

During Friday’s broadcast, Navarro slammed Trump’s controversial immigration policies, saying he is now targeting immigrants who are not undocumented and who do not have criminal histories.

“When you are taking away temporary protective status, when you are putting legal permanent residents in detention and deporting them, when you are threatening US citizens that you don’t like that you’re going to take away their US citizenship, when you are talking about birthright citizenship and taking that away, this is not about going after the criminals and the gang members, this is about making America white again and otherizing everybody who is an immigrant,” she said.

“At the same time that they are rounding up Latino immigrants, brown immigrants, they are opening up the doors for white South Afrikaners fleeing from a nonexistent genocide,” Navarro continued. “This is about deporting people and scaring people out of this country.”

She declared: “They are trying to make America white again. Don’t fool yourselves.”

For those looking to see what Navarro might have to say in return, The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
