HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — A Hudson father was arrested after Pasco deputies said he shot his son multiple times in a “fit of rage” while trying to evict him from the house.

Investigators said 68-year-old Timothy Snyder’s adult son was sitting on his couch playing video games when Snyder walked into the room carrying two guns.

An arrest affidavit said Snyder raised a black revolver in his right hand and fired seven rounds toward his son. Five shots hit the victim.

According to the report, the victim started to argue with his father, asking “why he was doing this.” Snyder told his son, “I have to finish it now.”

Snyder then raised a silver gun in his left hand and pointed it at his son, the report said.

The victim reportedly asked his father, “What are you going to do?” and his father replied, “After you’re dead, I will turn myself in to the sheriff’s office.”

The report said the victim was able to reason with his father to put the guns down. He then called 911.

The victim told investigators that he was in fear for his life when his father was pointing the guns at him.

During an interview with law enforcement officers, the affidavit said Snyder “felt disrespected by the victim since he was trying to evict him from the house.”

The sheriff’s office said Snyder confessed to pointing two guns at his son and shooting him in “a fit of rage.”

Snyder was charged with attempted murder.
