() A woman shot by federal immigration authorities Saturday morning in Chicago has been released from the hospital and is in FBI custody, the Department of Homeland Security said.

DHS officials say the shooting occurred on the city’s Southwest Side after U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents were ambushed by “domestic terrorists” who rammed federal police with vehicles.

The woman, injured by “defensive fire” from CBP agents, was driving one of the vehicles and had a semiautomatic weapon, a DHS news release said.

“The scene became increasingly violent as more domestic terrorists gathered and began throwing smoke, gas, rocks, and bottles at DHS law enforcement,” said officials, who reported at least three others were arrested in connection with the incident.

The injured woman, placed in FBI custody after being discharged from the hospital, has a history of doxing federal agents, DHS said. is not naming her because she had not been charged, based on information provided by Homeland Security.

Several CBP officers went to the hospital with injuries, and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle had to be abandoned after it was mobbed by attackers, officials said.

The Trump administration has sent a surge of federal resources to Chicago as part of its crackdown on illegal immigration. The initiative, dubbed “Operation Midway Blitz,” has met with local resistance.
