In Tennessee, investigators have linked a skull discovered in 2004 to a college student who vanished in 1986.

Alice Mae Sullivan, aged 20, disappeared on August 29, 1986, when she did not arrive to collect her 3-year-old son from a babysitter, according to a report by The Tennessean.

Sullivan, a Tennessee State University student, last attended classes on August 28 but was never seen picking up her child. Her disappearance was reported by her parents, as highlighted by WZTV.

The skull was uncovered by a contractor working on a construction site in north Nashville on February 20, 2004.

After sending the skull to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification, experts identified it as belonging to Sullivan. Authorities noted the absence of trauma on the skull, and despite an extensive search, no additional remains were found at the discovery site.

The investigation into Sullivan’s disappearance and death continues.
