A private investigator involved in the Celeste Rivas case is now sharing information publicly, hoping to encourage anyone with additional insights to come forward. This effort aims to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
Steve Fischer, the investigator, was engaged by the homeowner whose property was rented by singer D4vd, also known as David Burke. Fischer’s involvement began soon after the Los Angeles Police Department executed a search warrant at Burke’s rental home.
As previously detailed by CrimeOnline, the investigation took a grim turn when the Los Angeles police discovered Celeste Rivas’s body on September 8. Her remains were found in a Tesla, which was registered to Burke. The vehicle had been left near the rental home in the upscale Bird Streets neighborhood of Hollywood Hills.
The situation came to light after local residents reported an abandoned car with a Texas license plate on September 6. This led authorities to a tow yard in Hollywood, where the Tesla had been sitting for several days. Upon inspection, LAPD officers uncovered Celeste’s dismembered body concealed in a bag within the car’s front trunk.
The vehicle had been at the lot for several days before LAPD officers made the discovery. LAPD said Celeste’s dismembered body had been put in a bag and left in the front trunk.
During an interview with Law&Crime Sidebar, Fisher said that security footage showed who moved the Tesla and that it likely happened in late July.
He turned his findings over to LAPD, but did not reveal the driver’s name.
“It’s very clear. That neighborhood is filled with surveillance cameras,” Fisher said.
Fisher added that based upon his investigations, the Tesla had not been driven in a “long time” before it had been parked, despite Burke talking about the vehicle on social media.
“It was super dirty, caked-on dirt; I’ll tell you this was in late July,” Fischer said.
He added that he uncovered no evidence of who placed Celeste’s body in the car or when it happened.
“When it was moved to that position, it was already like that. So that car had not been used in a very long time.”
Fisher also explained he hasn’t uncovered any evidence that Celeste died inside the Hollywood Hills home or that a body was taken from the residence and placed in the vehicle.
There are also no photos of Celeste at the residence, Fisher said, and the last known photo taken of her was on July 2, 2025.
Fisher said it’s likely that Celeste had been staying at another location.
Fisher said evidence also places others at the home, and that there was only one house key.
“There are people that have photos and videos, and we’ve gotten a lot of photos and videos from inside the home itself, so we can put people at certain dates and times at the house, and there are a lot of them. It’s in the thousands.”
So far, LAPD has not confirmed Fisher’s findings and has not named a suspect in the case.
Burke, who embarked on the “Withered World Tour” on August 5, has since retained an attorney and canceled his remaining tour dates. He also transferred the deed to two of his Texas homes to his mother.
“D4vd was on tour, but somebody was in that house,” Fisher said, explaining that someone was at the home between the time Burke starting touring and when the Tesla had been found.
“Who had that (house) key is probably the same person, you know, that had access to the Tesla.”
