A dramatic incident unfolded in Sydney’s southwest yesterday afternoon, as a man was tasered following an alleged attack on police officers. The altercation began when authorities responded to reports of a breach of an apprehended violence order at a residence on Werombi Road in Grasmere around 5:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to detain a 20-year-old man. However, the situation escalated when the suspect allegedly hurled a spear at the officers and subsequently stabbed a 23-year-old probationary constable in the leg.
In response to the threat, police deployed a taser to subdue the man, successfully arresting him and transporting him to Campbelltown Police Station for further questioning.
The injured officer received immediate medical attention from paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital. He is currently in a serious but stable condition as he recovers from the ordeal.

A crime scene has been established and police have seized a knife, hatchet and spear for forensic examination.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
