CLINTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Students in Clinton will enjoy an unexpected day off on Monday following a widespread power outage that affected much of the area on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, Drew Goebel, the Superintendent of the Clinton Community Unit School District, informed the community that classes would be canceled due to this outage. He indicated that Monday would be considered an “Emergency Day,” which implies that the missed day will be made up at the conclusion of the school year.
