Diddy Not Drinking in Prison, Rep Confirms Amid Rumors

Sean “Diddy” Combs remains incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix in New Jersey, serving his 50-month sentence. The renowned hip-hop figure is reportedly dedicated to making the most of his time behind bars. However, recent allegations have surfaced claiming that Combs was caught drinking alcohol illegally while in prison. Here’s how Combs’ representative responded to these rumors.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs did not drink alcohol while in prison, according to his representative

In November 2025, sources informed TMZ that Combs might be encountering difficulties at FCI Fort Dix. Insiders alleged that Combs had been crafting homemade alcohol from Fanta, sugar, and apples over a two-week period. Prison officials reportedly discovered this activity and considered relocating him to another unit.

In response to TMZ’s report, Combs’ family representative, Juda Engelmayer, issued a clarifying statement.

“Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is concentrating on adjusting, self-improvement, and progressing each day,” Engelmayer stated. “It’s common for high-profile individuals to face numerous rumors and exaggerated tales in new settings — many of which are untrue. We ask that people allow him the benefit of the doubt and the privacy needed to focus on his personal development with dignity and purpose.”

A representative reiterated this perspective in a statement to People.

“There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs,” the spokesperson said. “He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.”

Combs’ X account also posted an official statement denying the alcohol allegations.

“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” the statement reads. “His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

The music mogul previously apologized and stated he’s free of drugs and alcohol

Ahead of his sentencing, Sean “Diddy” Combs apologized to Judge Arun Subramanian for his conduct.

“I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs,” he wrote, according to a letter obtained by Fox News Digital. “This has been the hardest 2 years of my life, and I have no one to blame for my current reality and situation but myself.” He also stated that he’s free of drugs and alcohol “for the first time in 25 years.” Combs added that he feels “stronger, wiser, clean, clear, and sober.”

“I lost my way,” the mogul’s letter continued. “I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess. My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core. Jail is designed to break you mentally, physically and spiritually.”

Given Combs’ letter to the judge and commitment to sobriety, it makes sense that the rumors of him concocting his own alcohol behind bars are false.

FCI Fort Dix has a Residential Drug Abuse Program for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to possibly enroll in

According to Business Insider, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyer, Teny Geragos, hoped for Combs to move to FCI Fort Dix partially for the Residential Drug Abuse Program. The nine-month drug and alcohol program could shave down Combs’ prison sentence if completed. The Bureau of Prisons decides whether to accept Combs into programs such as these.

“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix for RDAP purposes and any other available educational and occupational programs,” Geragos wrote to the judge.
