SAVANNAH, Ga. — A heartwarming scene unfolded in a Savannah neighborhood on Saturday evening as residents rallied around a young girl and her family during a challenging time.

A six-year-old girl from the Willow Point area has recently been placed in hospice care. Upon receiving this news, the local community took swift action to bring a touch of joy by celebrating her favorite time of year—Christmas.

In a show of solidarity, neighbors organized a festive display of Christmas lights and even held a parade to express their support for the family.

“Our community recognized that this family needed some Christmas spirit this season, so we set up a parade and arranged for the street to be adorned with Christmas lights earlier than usual,” shared Mandy Goff, a community member.

Goff described the Willow Point neighborhood as “very tight-knit,” highlighting that it’s common for residents to unite in support of one another, regardless of how well they might know each other personally.

The parade featured groups like car clubs, the Savannah Fire, the Savannah Police Department, local businesses and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
